Luxury bags are rarely everyday bags since real life is rarely luxurious, it's much more than that. It's messy and difficult and challenging, stressful and full of family, friends and all that fills our hearts ❤️❤️❤️ with amazing memories, including the beautiful luxury bags
This is so true. I love designer bags but it's hard to work them into my lifestyle. I am an attorney in Chicago. It snows, it rains, you walk into a dirty court room into a dirty court house - when it's not Zoom- and someone is yelling at you to put your bag on the floor. I go to dinner twice a month where again I am too afraid to take the bags lol. So I end up using them to ironically shop in person for more bags. I'm like you now, I have what I have and my most used bag is my old leather TUMI tote. Not buying anymore until the Lux company's start to also include a new life that includes invitations to parties and a beach house on the some coast
This is why I watch you, because I want to hear the why a bag didn’t work for you. It has given me pause when buying and now and really stop and think before I buy any luxury bag (or item).
Cool, video, Amelia Rose. It’s really an amazing feeling when you discover something about yourself that pleases you. That is growth and never a bad thing even when it takes you making mistakes along the way. Kudos!
Oh, the fantasy life style. When I worked and had four small children I had one bag, and when it wore out I bought exactly the same one. After I started watching “bag” videos, retired with grown children I bought many luxury bags for the new fantasy life. We are now traveling extensively, internationally, but I don’t use those expensive bag, nor do most women in the other countries. Here I am in Venice and again I bough the puffy pale blue Alma Bb- loved the color. It would probably have color transfer the first time I wear it😂I knew it in the store, yet still bought it😂incurable
Aw, I loved that Chanel Gabrielle -- probably the only Chanel I've ever liked, probably mainly because of the deep red! Completely understand why you had to purge some of those, though. You explained it all perfectly. I was surprised the Fendi baguette didn't make the cut either! I know you loved it, but just loving it isn't always enough. It's kind of like how I take photos of things I'm interested in these days, and if I find myself continuing to go back to the photo, I know I probably would really use the item. If I forgot I took the photo for days, then that speaks for itself.
I enjoy all your videos, but this one is spot-on! I’m a big believer of buying what works for you. I love big handbags. Love the idea of being able to throw EVERYTHING in one bag and go. Guess what bag I use the most? The LV Felicie. I can fit my phone in it, a couple of cards in it, and a lipstick and a comb. It hits me at the perfect spot on my hip. I currently have two and would like to add more. Boring? Maybe, but I’d rather be a bit predictable than to continue throwing away money on bags I don’t use (I’m looking at YOU baby-blue Capucine!). ❤️
Nice video. It does take time, I think, to figure out what works best for us. I like big bags like the neverfull tote and I learned that I’m not into small bags that won’t even fit my phone. You’re right, it does not make sense to have bags that will just in your closet and will never use.
Love it! I'm sitting here, looking at my bags and thinking "I need MORE PINK!" 😆 I was SO gutted you sold the Fendi Baguette, I really loved it (still do), but would I enjoy that caramel background colour? Hmmmm. 🥂💕
Thank you for the reminder. I love this talk! Can 💯 percent relate!!! So on point. Perhaps we can alternate shopping at the outlets with the boutiques, at least the mistakes wouldn’t be so costly ‘cuz nobody’s perfect. 😅😂 At least you lived your best life during your prime and amassed the most gorgeous pink handbag collection 😍🥰
Yup, I was going into LV to purchase a bag and found out the price was the same as the giant monogram travel bag. I bought the travel bag. It’s freakin luggage for crying out loud. I have never even used it as a book bag and replace the never full. It’s so heavy with nothing in it that it remains unused. Thanks for sharing.
I would love to see a clip of you in your fantasy life! So enjoyed this video and except for FOMO I've made all the same mistakes - but - one learns. For me, when I consider buying a bag these days, A. must love the look, B. must have a shape and form to fit mostly rectangular items and C. the weight when empty.
Love all your videos! Just curious, since you love mini bags so much, what do you carry in them? If you have done a WIMB video, I’d love to see the link. Mini bags are just too small for me…
@@ameliarosescloset thank you! That will be great. 💕 Just as I say mini bags are too small for me, I bought the LV Twinny in store yesterday. I am definitely scaling back on what I carry. Just the essentials … 😂
Great info. I was starting to go down that road but took a stop when I saw my latest CC statement. LOL I can so relate to the fantasy life…I do this all the time..and have wasted so much money on bags, clothes, and shoes. Luv your channel. The pic you shared of the Fendi multi color was so cute. You look good with your hair up in that casual way. Oh my I was just getting ready to buy and alternative travel tote tomorrow…..but now I’m not so thank you once again.
Great video- I have been struggling with that for the Loewe puzzle bag, feeling like I’d better buy it because it’s being discontinued. Not my kind of bag at all. My daughter said it looked like something her Grammy would buy annnnd, I’m good.
I love when you were talking about your fantasy life 😂😂😂. I have realized I mostly use large bags although I have bought 4 very small Chanel bags and I almost just bought another one 🤦♀️. I smartened up and bought the medium Dior D lite instead. 😂. Of course I still spent the money but at least I’ll use this one.
What got me was and grew about a foot long lol 😂. Idk if it’s a mistake but different colors of the same bag. Also that fantasy life will always get me. Oh and ignoring that in my state it rains a lot lol. Ditto on the petite Malle. It’s my #1. I feel amazing while using.
Mistakes wise I bought two items that I felt intimidated/ shamed into buying because I felt belittled by the S A. She’d correctly priced me up and knew I couldn’t afford it but coveted it. So I used to stare at it through the window. And once a month pop in the shop quietly and touch the bloody thing. One day she and her colleague pretty much embarrassed me into buying it. And I did. It was being talked down to. And a tip that o shouldn’t go into shops I couldn’t afford to shop in. I was too low to tell them to ‘go away’ or just walk out. I picked the bag up and bought the thing. I never used it. It left its packing one time when I showed it to my sister in law. Then a year ago I donated it to a charity shop after failing to sell it online. It was a Kate Spade bag. Some of these sales assistants can be toxic
I’m a bit sad that the multicoloured Fendi is gone, but I totally understand why it didn’t work for you. I love all your pink mini bags. I think you have to find what doesn’t work for you so that you can learn what does.
Excellent video. I did the same thing with the alma bb. I didn't realize that I'm not a top handle girl.or that it's awful as a crossbody so now I get a inspired version 1st to see if it works. I have a celine box bag and a silver sequin fendi baguette that works the cassette bag works and nylon prada bucket bag 😊
@nada2excoo I like small totes but with the rise of prices I get coach and marc Jacob's small totes . I recently got a denim coach tote and I love it more than that alma bb
I have gotten a couple small handbags. I’m a large a person over 5 foot nine maybe 5 foot nine I’m older than you and not skinny. I just can’t do the small handbags. I I’m trying and I’m trying and I’m trying but I just can’t do the small handbags. I love how they look on other people but I just can’t do it. I’ve tried and I tried.
@@ameliarosescloset very wise words And I am upsetting myself with very large bags too, going to stick ( most of the Time) with my mid sizes , again Thank you and love your videos.
I think that all of us bag lovers do those mistakes 🙈 and surrendering to Fomo its still a big issue for me 😬 but I'm much much better than I was a few years back 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the video Amelia 🥰
I've learned to ask myself this question: Do I love this bag, or am I trying to love it? If I'm trying to justify how or when I would wear it, how great I would look with it, or what a good deal it is, that's a big red flag. FOMO is probably at play. I've learned to stop & walk away.

i love this comment, it is so much more than a bag x
❤
That’s what Louis Vuitton is for 😂 i don’t wear my Chanel everyday.
I really appreciate that you share your regrets and mistakes. It’s great for us to all learn from each other.
My pleasure!

This is why I watch you, because I want to hear the why a bag didn’t work for you. It has given me pause when buying and now and really stop and think before I buy any luxury bag (or item).
I’ll be pretty blunt about them!
Oh my, you cracked me up with the description of your fantasy self😂 We’ve all felt on that rabbit hole one way or another. Thanks for being so real 😘
You are welcome!
I can totally relate to a lot of these points. Trying to really consider all factors before purchasing anything ❤
i am trying but i know i will still make mistakes!
