When Tommy decides to cover a tune, you know it's always going to be nothing short of epic. I love that he breaks out and sings for us once in a while. No way. Tommy isn't doing that stuff for the audience. That's just Tommy being himself. He's just truly enjoying himself. He's goofy like that off stage too. I saw him again(3rd time!) last week. And this time he did an impromptu tutorial/inspirational talk. Something that I've only seen him do in his workshops. And one thing he said, "Don't try to be everything to everybody all the time. Pick one thing you truly enjoy and stick with that. Don't be a people pleaser. Be a self pleaser."
and because he practiced a lot... if you want to take him serious, don't say that he can just do these things.. it's hard work and he's earned his status by hard work, not because he's lucky or has nice hair or another good feature that makes people successful nowadays..

The Most Organic Guitarist Ever does something genuinely original with a Presley signature tune (including a lyrical quote from a Police tune), showing that he is a brilliant guitarist, conceptualist, entertainer, stage director (notice how he lets the soundperson know that something's wrong, and it has to be remedied), and... ...surprise, surprise... Vocalist.
Tommy is great, one of my favorite guitarists! Weather hes better than Elvis, Chet, or anybody else is pretty irrelevant though, they are all great in their own right, and probably respect each other (or would if they were still alive) for each's contributions to music and/or the entertainment business.
At his shows, Tommy tells about growing up in Australia hearing Chet Atkins and Les Paul on the radio and not knowing that Les had invented a device called a loop so he figured out how to make the same sounds without the use of a loop. I'd call that genius.

TE is a genius... I am just saying... he needn't do all that clowning like a circus act. Give it some class. People come to see his immense genius not clowning. If they want to be entertained like that they can always go to the circus is what I am saying.
Jung has lotsa dues to pay and least next 20 years to truly hone and streamline his techniques before he can ever claim to have his name mention in same breath as TM. learn to deal with the facts dude !
