Thank you for this! Growing up 300 yrs later in Southern Washington County NY, it was hard for me to not be enthralled about the world's history that was pivotal right here in my backyard. The mighty Hudson/Champlain corridor to the west and the Great Northern War Trail to the east(I think it's called Diondonadawa) aka route 22 New Amsterdam (York) to Montreal! Thanks very interesting

My 9x great grandfather, Edward Bobet, was killed on June 25, 1675 as he was walking with his dog, _returning_ to the garrison in Taunton, Ma from his home in Berkley (family story tells that his wife made him go home to get a “cheese hoop”). He heard a Wampanoag warrior coming so he climbed a tree - which his trusty dog then barked at, alerting the Wampanoag man and resulting in my 9th great grandfather being scalped and killed. Fortunately, my 8X great grandfather had already been born. 😬
Altun is a great channel. He does an awesome job with the history of the area

Here in Ma, homesteads we’re attacked in Billerica, Tyngsborough, Dunstable and Andover. The homes of that period featured hiding holes and escape doors.

Couldn't remember the name for "The War of the League of Augsburg" on a history test but I knew the year of the war and who was on the throne. I made a guess that common folk would have called it "King William's War". I got the credit but was reminded it only replied to the North American conflict.
