I spoke the truth , U do care about your students, U making sure they understand how 2 use the instrument & that today is very rare, have a beautiful day every one.
Your method of teaching is great. Love the closeups. So helpful. I felt i was stuck in a rut but thanks to you I'm learning. This beginner is very grateful. 😊
you are the bomb. Im like a negative white belt(only 4th week with guitar) in guitar playing, and here you dont taught me the intro to my girl. I was 2 steps from pawning this guitar..lol
Hi Lauren, you are absolutely brilliant teacher, very easy to understand and learn from you, your videos are brilliant and so easy to follow. Thank you 💕🙏
Fun lesson. I think you should also mention the notes as well. My guitar teacher pounded that into me to know all the notes. I never knew My Girl was in the Key of C (guessing based on the first three notes, C, D, E) by the way. Cool that you did this.
Glad you like them Jim :) Did you see the new dexterity series? I'll be releasing a new lick every day for the next 8 days. Check it out! ua-cam.com/play/PL10FTzm-zsiIZpqDZz1LIPvjwAAInvv3N.html

hey lauren, just have one question, I started learning guitar from about 2 weeks and I can play couple songs thx 2 u, so iam wondering if it is the right time to learn mute strumming technique or it's too advanced for my level ?
Seddik, two weeks could be a but early. I recommend learning all of your open chords A, Am, C, D, Dm, E, Em, Fmaj7, and G. Learn some songs to develop some strumming and then you can attempt muting. Your wrist needs to be relaxed.
How critical is maintaining the exact alternate strumming. I get a little messed up changing from A string to D string bc my pic wants to do an up stroke after the down stroke even though I am changing strings downwardly. Muscle memory issue from doing scales.
Great question. There's a lot of guitarists out there that use straight up alternate picking no matter what. For me, directional picking always made more sense. If your muscle memory is calling for an up, then go for the up. I know guitarist who do both very well.
Both of those songs are great. I have them on my list. I need find the chord chart in my files and upload to the website first. Obviously we love the same music LOL I will get on to recording at least one of these the next time I have a sunny day. I have a bunch of videos I need to edit for the dexterity series I'm working on, but I promise I will get these recorded this week and then will edit ASAP. Thanks for the suggestions.

@@LaurenBateman I went from the FB post to the u tube link and my link showed Pretty woman then it went to My gril. Mayb it was just an advertisement for the other songs that u offer. . Sorry to bother u.
There's a much easier way of playing this riff. Starts in the same place 5th string 3rd fret, then open 4th string, 2nd fret 4th string, open 3rd string, 2nd fret 3rd string, 1st fret 2nd string.
You're welcome, I started learning when I got my first guitar last Christmas ( I already have my 2nd 😀), and this riff was one of the first things I learnt. I saw another video this afternoon playing it as I described but played 1 string up the neck ( starting on low E rather than A) it didn't sound right to me.😉.

Thank you for the lesson. Would you consider teaching Rumble Doll by Patti Scialfa? It's such a good song. Thank you Lauren for what you do.
Pat, thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out.
Sick!!
Thanks!
Lauren, why do you leave out the initial 4 note runs? Seems so recognizable that it should be included. This is a question not a criticism.
To keep it simple.

I must have put the wrong link in the Facebook group. Coffee must not have kicked in yet. Glad you found the video.
Lauren can you or have you already done “four strong winds” Neil Young version?
I have not done it Paul. I like Neil's stuff.
Lauren Bateman Lauren this is a good one to do, lots of views to be had. Plus you make it easy
