Congrats, that is an amazing score! Not many people score that high so you definitely did everything right. You are totally right that the TEAS 7 has more biology and chemistry, the previous TEAS 6 did not have as much, it was more focused on A&P. What school are you applying to?

4 months is a good amount of time to study. We usually recommend at least 4-6 weeks but it really depends on each student. There is a lot of material on the TEAS science section so it is a good idea to leave yourself enough time to study, we typically recommend at least 4-6 weeks to study. The best thing to do is to take practice tests until you are getting the score you need to get into your program and then you can know you are ready to take the real test. The science of TEAS 7 was more difficult than 6. The chemistry and scientific reasoning asked specific questions that I never thought to study for. For my A&P, I got more questions about respiratory and integumentary systems. Not sure if this is the same for everyone else.
Yes, generally most students find the TEAS 7 a little more difficult than the TEAS 6 because it includes more chemistry, but it all depends some students are really good at chemistry so they might actually find this version easier. How did you do on the test, are you planning to keep the score you received or are you planning to try taking the test again.

@@SmartEditionAcademy I did better on the TEAS 7 by 6% improvement on my score. I barely studied when I took the TEAS 7. I'm not sure if I was just lucky or if it was just easier.

It day one of consistent studying for me. Moving from an accounting student to doing nursing. Intend on studying for 6weeks. So far so good this video is super helpful and informative. I’m open to more recommendations and how to study the science part of the test.

OMG thank you so much for this. Ive been stressing over the science information as it is loads of info. Now with this outline I will Stick to studying only this for the next two weeks. I take my exam on July 18th! I studied all the sections besides science as of now.

I only have a month to really learn all of the science - I struggled with almost every section and it's been awhile since I've done any. What would you recommend to get a higher score in only that short amount of time? (I'm retaking the test, previously I scored super low and that's what made me fail)

From there you can plan to spend more of your study time on those weak areas. Then if you have additional practice tests you can take another different practice test and you should start to see your scores improve. What school are you applying to and what is the required score for you the program?
The test is different for everyone I think. Because I studied a lot of human anatomy. & I only got about 10 questions on human anatomy. The rest were chemistry questions it was extremely hard.
Hi Tracy! You are correct, there is a big difference between the previous TEAS 6 version and the new TEAS 7 version and that difference is exactly what you mentioned. The TEAS 7 has a lot less A&P and a lot more chemistry. Are you planning to take the test again or was your score enough for your programs requirement?
I passed it, but my score wasn’t good enough for some schools. Even though I got a passing grade, it didn’t add up enough points still. So I will retake it. I’ve been applying to schools that are accepting my passing grade, schools that don’t go by points but I’ve been getting denied

omfggg yesss exactly like everybody on youtube kept saying the TEAS6 was anatomy based but it wasnt for me and that's why I didnt score too well on it because it was freshman biology and I hadnt taken that in years

The science section definitely has the most material you need to know. The best thing to do is to put together a good study plan so you can make sure you are hitting each topic and making sure you are going back to each of those topics over a period of time with some repetition. Would you suggest that A&P classes are taken before taking the TEAS? I haven't been in school for about 15 years.

This is a great video. I took my teas and failed the science portion. Eveything you stated in this video was on my test. My program im applying to said I can take it over before July 12th, do you think that is enough time? Tomorrow i have to give them my decision
Thanks, we're glad you found this video helpful! All of the info in this video is basically the outline of the Smart Edition Academy TEAS 7 Online Course science section. So....usually we recommend studying for 4-6 weeks but since you have already taken the test and assuming you did some studying for that I think you would be okay with the July 12th test date but you will definitely need to put in as much study time as you can over the next 2 weeks.
The best way to approach your studying is to really get a better idea of exactly what your strengths and weaknesses are not just by subject like science, but specifically within science try to understand what your weak topics are. Some people say the teas 7 is now open-ended, and fill-in-the-blank questions and they are checking for correct spelling as well, which makes it 1000x harder than teas 6. Are you able to confirm if this is true or not? Is every college different with its TEA'S?
Yes, the new TEAS 7 test does contain alternative question types including select all that apply, fill in the blank, and sequence/drag and drop. The subjects and topics on the test are exactly the same as the previous TEAS 6 version so there is no change there. The fill in the blank questions are primarily numerical so it is not checking for spelling of words.
All in all the TEAS 7 is not significantly more difficult than the TEAS 6 and definitely not 1000x harder, don't get too worried about the new question types, this video actually goes over strategies for each of these question types: ua-cam.com/video/Lx0YzLh4myk/v-deo.html&t.

There is only one test no matter which program you are applying to so yes it is the same questions for RDH or RN program. How much time should you take to study if you're starting from scratch for the science portion?
We typically recommend at least 4-6 weeks but it all really depends on each student. Where can we learn the metric system?
If you have the TEAS 7 online course we have some lessons for the metric system including conversions and the majority of what you need to know about the metric system for the test. When is your test date and what school are you applying to?
So I have to answer all the 3 corrects? Or one will be the correct answer ?
If the answer is a multiple choice question, you will have 1 correct answer choice. If you have a new select all that apply question, you'll be expected to choose all of the correct answers which could be no answers are correct, only 1 answer is correct, or a range of 2-5 of the choices are correct. You have to choose all of the correct answers, otherwise you don't get it correct and won't get any partial credit.

It is a lot - but you can do it! Start by taking a practice test and see how you do on the science portion. Look at your diagnostic score at the end of the test and study the topics you get the lowest scores on. When do you take your test? Are you feeling good about the other sections?

Girl. Why my advisor ONLY give me less than two weeks to study and I haven’t taken my pre reqs just some of them! And the pre reqs are on the teas test. Wtf! I feel u. Students usually get 3-6 months to study for their teas. I’m for sure failing this one cus wtf! The studying I have to do under 2 weeks is clearly impossible!!!

I’m struggling with this section of the teas. I did score higher the second time around but it wasn’t enough to get into my program. I need a 67 and I got a 60. This will be my 3rd and I’m losing confidence. I’m not a good test taker
Don't give up! It's actually very common to take the test 2 or 3 times so don't feel bad at all about that. You are so close to the 67% with a little more study time and the right resources to study with you can definitely get that score. When is your next test date? I was studying for the 6, just found out they changed the test smh. Why?
The new TEAS 7 does have some changes but they aren't too crazy so you should be good if you have been studying. One change is the ratio of questions per topic so in the science section for example the TEAS 7 has more chemistry and biology and less A&P than the TEAS 6 version. The other change is that there are new question types besides just multiple choice like the TEAS 6 was, the TEAS 7 has fill in the blank, select all that apply, and ordering/drag and drop questions. What school are you applying to and what is the required score?
Zero A&P on mine and mostly bio and Chem. They know how to move the bar. 😳
No A&P questions at all, not even 1 question? The ATI website says there should be 18 at least according to this page: atiteas.info/overview/
If there was 18 A&P questions I hardly noticed bcz they felt more bio related than anything.

The remaining 6 are unscored questions that the test creators use to try out new questions, those 6 could be on any of the topics.

Thanks for your feedback, it's interesting we hear different feedback from students, many have an experience like yours, others say it was closer to what ATI says it is which would be roughly 18 questions on A&P. It's a bit unpredictable and there is more than one version of the exam so you just have to be prepared for it all.
