- In this video we take a cursory look at every Persona and Megaten game released on cell phones by Atlus. There’s a lot of variety in there ranging from strange puzzle games, platformers and traditional JRPGSs. Many of these are virtually unheard of and very little footage exists of them.
Much of the footage in the video was sourced from Tom’s Translations, who has recorded/translated a few of these phone games.

Mojo Kor Well, Persona 3 and Breakout are similar in that they both have a lot of back-and-forths.
I'm not surprised that there's a bunch of Persona mobile games, but I'd never actively thought about it before. Looking at the thousands of Persona spinoffs on console/handheld, I should've expected there'd be a Persona Bejeweled... Cool stuff!

@@arzr_er To be honest, they can milk all they want. I haven't met a milking yet that has been a pure cash in. All the side games seem to still have a lot of thought put into them. Then again, maybe I've missed games that are horrible.

Don't feel too bad. Shin Megami Tensei Liberation is about to come out, and it's pretty damn good even though it uses a slightly watered down press turn system. And if you can't wait, you can just play the Japanese version like I am since there's no region locking lol

Apparently, Persona 3 éM has social links with Akihiko and Junpei. This was released before P3P, making this the first time you could have social links with them and the only time you can as the male protagonist. éM also has Arche-Personas, which are basically shadow selves. According to the megaten wiki, they actually say “I am the shadow… I am the true self…” but I’m not sure if that’s actually true. There are Arche-Personas for all the S.E.E.S. members in the game, including the protagonist but we don’t what his deal was about, we do know the others’ deals were. Also Shuji and Pharos appear. Apparently, according to this game Shuji is a bit of a perv, and Pharos appears despite the fact that the dark hour isn’t in this game, instead it’s the “Nightmare Hour.”

It's a shame these games are disappearing. I swear, with how underrated P1 and 2 are, I feel people care even less for their mobile games.
If they ever make a definitive version of Persona 3 with all of the content from the different verisons, I'd love if they included the Aegis game as a minigame or side story

Well, it'd be cool to see them in console form, but an mobile remake would be good enough. I mean, today's smartphones can handle quite a lot and these games are very short gameplay wise and story wise...
Since It is a persona topic I just want to say that I unlocked the Platinuem yesterday for Persona 5. And it is all thanks to this channel since without your video about it, I might not have bought it.

SnicketySlice My advive if you are planning to get the platinuem is to have a save slot after the Akeshi confrence in shujin Academy ( about 26/10 I believe). Also finish the old book store books first for the speed reading book. It will make your life much easier. Then try to fuse the Ultimate yoshitsune ( I hope I haven't butchered his name ). He will make your life much easier specially against the twins. lastly you know the money farming trick ? farm enough money so that you can fuse both Yoshitsune and a support persona for the fight
( I had Odin but inherited charge in place of concentrate. )

A company called G-MODE has been publishing Japanese flip-phone games to Nintendo Switch and Steam, with Atlus’s games being some of the first not from G-MODE’s parent company.
Currently, the Persona 1 side story is the only Persona title that has been made available again, and still only in Japanese.

A Persona MMO would be amazing to revisit, but my only fear is with how Persona is, a MMO would probably be very heavy on raid battles, which might drive away players desiring an experience they can enjoy single player
The problem with MMOs is that the story is never finished
You know what I think would be really cool like a Persona beat them up or like have you ever played puzzles and dragons Puzzles and Dragons except with Persona characters or like a Megaton game

Usually I don't sub to someone after watching just one video, but I'll definitely sub to you after this video. This was great. I knew that a few mobile Persona games existed but I didn't think there were THAT many. So yeah, I'd definitely like to see more. I'd also love to hear your opinions on what you think Persona 6 is going to be like.

They're incredibly interesting and well put together, and I'm finding either legitimatly unique videos (such as this one) or videos with incredibly interesting and thoughtful takes. I hope you continue to upload, and since I've only watched your Persona content thus far (the Amnesia video is coming next!) I really hope you'll do something on Persona 5! Either way, It seems you have a ton of stuff for me to watch beyond the Persona stuff, and I'm excited to go through and check out what you have!

If anything, at least it's possible to emulate persona games on android. So at least it'd be possible to play Persona Q and Persona 3 Portable, as well as the PSP versions of the older personas and the Playstation 1 originals.

I only know the emulator's on android mate, didn't really have the chance to try it myself, tho. So I don't know the performance, obviously. BUT I do know the PS1 and PSP emulators run okay on my phone, so at least I can confirm for those. Also depends on the hardware.
Damn you really wanna play that? It's not a bad game but it has balancing issues. For example if you don't choose certain points on your character and persona you'll screw yourself over.

After seeing this video again, it makes me think how of a metroidvania would be a great spin off genre for Persona. Seeing a Metroidvania based on Personas 1 Tower of a different sky, P2 Tsumi to Batsu manga trilogy (or the P2 mobile games), P3 Shadow Cry(seeing and playing as Strega would be badass!), or P3 Aegis First Mission would be so GNARLY!

Don't forget, the first two Shin Megami Tensei games are already released in mobile in the US and it's amazing. Also, Dx2, the VR game, recently came out, but only Japan so far. It's confirmed that it would definitely hit overseas for sure.
Maybe they'll bring back most of those Persona 3 mobile games in the form of either extra DLC story content or actual expanded parts of the base game for the inventible HD remake, especarlly the Aegis First Mission one, they could actually turn that mobile game into an extra DLC storyline for the base game of the Persona 3 remake and maybe have the DLC itself be bundled with The Answer which I always imagine they would bring back the Epilogue chapter from FES, but have it be released as DLC instead. Also, there's one forgotten Persona phone game you could talk about which is called Persona OA which is a tie in with the Persona 5 anime where you play as yourself who gets the power of the Wild Card given to you by the Velvet Twins more as a way for them to help Ren (Yep, in the mobile game, Joker is named Ren Amamiya) with his rehabilitation without letting Igor know about it, you join the Phantom Thieves and go and fight shadows in Mementos along side them (Yeah, sounds like the kinda plot you would very commonly find in any game based on a popular franchise, huh?) and you also interact and chat with the many characters there. The app shut down due to the anime's end and the upcoming release of Persona 5 Royal at the time, but, yeah, it was a thing.

Aegis First Mission and Persona 3 Em are quite good graphic-wise. I mean, they are nothing special (expecially when compared with the original PS2 game, or even the downgraded PSP version), but it's was kinda a miracle since they were created in 2007 and 2008 for mobile phones

I covered the smart phone games there just wasn't many of them. P4 The Card Battle and Devil Collection were smart phone games. There's a new one on the way so maybe I'll cover that.
