Henry did a wonderful job on this ballet. Puts me in mind of the Girl Hunt Ballet from The Bandwagon featuring Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse. This one was about ten times more sensual though. What a treat to see it and hear it.
A nice juxtaposition of styles...so Gene Kelly... and so Hank Mancini! A great gem from the vaults.
Not only was Kelly one of the greatest dance legends, he was also an amazing and innovative choreographer. He was sexy AF too. Here, he and famed French ballerina, Claude Bessy, sizzle.
The "Cha-cha-cha" segment was recycled as "Cowbells and Coffee Beans" on the "Mr. Lucky Goes Latin" album.
SO Mancini and SO Kelly. What a combo!!
Hot stuff. Aired around the same timenas Bernstein's West Side Story.
So many beatnicks!
Wonderful ❤❤❤
Why am I getting Muppet vibes?
The exaggerated comical effect of the music?
A great show. I could sense the music as Mancini style.
AMAZING!!
