    ANYONE who would call the police in regard to a property line dispute should be charged with public mischief.
    This is a civil matter.

    • @Demsar_Groomurz
      @Demsar_Groomurz Рік тому +10

      @kyle381000, generally, yes.
      But, if the neighbor had a structure that went over the property line, it is also theft of your land for their personal use. When they put in a permanent structure, they intend to deprive you of your land without agreement or compensation.
      Especially when you've requested they move the structure so a privacy fence can be installed and they refuse to do so and threaten you with court action or physical violence.
      Does that still remain a civil issue or does it elevate to a crime?

    • @kyle381000

      Some people cannot even recognize the point you make.
      Some cannot see the logic of your words.
      These are not times of logic and common sense.
      I have a neighbor who came from another state where he lived for decades.
      He had surveys done of the house and lots he bought.
      He couldn't believe it when he came to ask me about drainage near our line,
      and I glanced and said "ah that's good enough" nonchalantly.
      and then some of his dirt piled behind my tree up the hill from equipment work he did.
      I said "I can't see that from my house."
      He is a good friend now. He said he will die here, because all the neighbors are this way.
      I feel the same. Of course, we never know when change will come, and some people are very unhappy regardless.

      When we bought our house 20 years ago we noticed a small edit on the title regarding the property line. The next door neighbors driveway encroached about 3’ on the back corner, it was shaped like a little pie slice. The agreement was to have them purchase the land for $1200 and pay future taxes on it. I’d be curious if it was a friendly transaction.

      There's a large percentage of cops that are BAD - every day, every chance they get. The rest just look the other way and go with the flow. The 0.1 percent that try to do right and point out those that are doing wrong don't last long enough to make a difference. Main problem is the justice system is corrupt top to bottom - really, it's past fixing! You can have your own opinion - I'm just stating facts. If Trump had a second term, he would have had military tribunals where necessary. That's why he couldn't be allowed to win a second term under ANY conditions. And now the military is corrupt. Any chance to fix things is GONE!! The powers that be are happy with the way things are. Their plan is on track. / I wonder how long this post will stay up.

    Years ago my parents had a flag lot. That is a long driveway with our house up the hill and behind the houses on the street. The driveway is between two houses Our neighbors oleander bushes had grown so much on both sides they were hitting our cars when we went up and down the hill. The driveway was about 15 feet wide and the bushes were on our driveway about 5 ft over our driveway on each side. These bushes were huge. My parents decided to cut them back a little and both neighbors, being liberal tree huggers, came out screaming that we weren’t allowed to cut the bushes because they were their bushes. My dad tried to tell them that we could cut them back to the property line and they screamed and yelled and ware threatening my dad so much that my mom called the police, because it was the 4 neighbors all against my dad. The police came out and told my dad, and the neighbors, that he had every right to cut them back to the property line if he wanted. So because they were jerks, my dad cut them all the way back to the property line. The driveway looked so huge after that. Then, the next year all those bushes died, because we had cut so much off of them. Too bad they decided to be jerks about it.

My parents brought picture of before and after and the judge told the people they should have planted those bushes farther away from the property line. The judge also reiterated that any plant, tree, or part of a plant or tree hanging over onto someone else’s property can be cut back to the property line. My dad had counter sued and won for the court costs and the day taken off work. They both never paid so my dad put a lien on their properties and one sold their house 10 years later the other 13 years later and my dad got paid the costs plus 10% per year. When the first one sold the property they were furious, but it got paid out of escrow, so they had no choice. They let my dad know how pissed they were. My dad just smiled. The other neighbor knew about it and said nothing to my dad when they sold their house. My parents lived in the house before and after both of these neighbors. 53 years in total, and that was the only problem in all that time.

    We had a problem something like this when we wanted to extend our fence about 6 feet from the fence line on the side of our house, so we didn't have to look at our neighbors awful porch. No cops, but she wouldn't approve the extra feet. So my husband had the fence guy make it two inches into our property along the property line. We won, the fence guy loved it! Said he would remember this when he had the same problem with someone else. He couldn't stop laughing! Our hoarder neighbor couldn't do a thing!! She was so mad! Also she likes to watch her neighbors so now she can't see our porch! Our front door is facing her porch, so it is so nice now not having to see her porch anymore.

    We had owned our property for nearly 25 years with a different property owner next door .....after they moved away the new owners had the property surveyed and found out that they were going to lose 2 to 3 ft of property along that side .... because of that survey Along the South property line.. I can just imagine how much fight and resistance there would have been from the old owner if that property line dispute had happened years ago because that was his whole driveway gone.. amazing how much property lines move over the years just from building and rebuilding fences overtime... long story short it was wonderful for us and the new Property Owners next door never really cared because it was going to be a habitat house and they tore down the old house and change the whole scheme
