I’m a marine corps veteran and i have become vehemently anti war over the years. I’m not so naive to think we can have world peace, but by default, i’m opposed to the motives of political leaders when it comes to war. If we are going to do these terrible things to each other, we’d better have a damn good reason for it
Thank you for your service. YAHWEH/GOD blesses and this ain’t the way HE wants us to be to one another. We need to allow HIS wisdom to guide us through conflicts not our egos and bullets.
I respect the military wether it would be the Marine Corps or Army but I don't want to see young people getting drafted into a loser cause because that happened during World War II when soldiers from all countries especially the Axis powers and Soviet Union were misled into a losing ideology such as Facism and Communism which led to the deaths of millions and also caused mental trauma and guilt for years
I will admit I was shocked/bewildered at the first few takes [watching]. However, from a rhetorical/communication view point, it was very well done. Even after I watched it a few times, I thought: hay, there are some toys [the realistic functioning wheelchair, for example] children with disables could have some fun playing with.
How bout 'Action Man' veterans of industry. At 19, just graduated HS, only 6 weeks on the job I fell and broke my back at a grainery river terminal. I was just lucky enough to fall in a river barge and was able to receive longshoreman disability.
@@oscarosullivan4513 it's also kind of about the US, too. The reason the number is 19 is because despite the fact that there were 30 yr olds in the military, a lot of people were 16/17 in Vietnam. I believe that's also what they're referencing with that line too, since a lot of them were passed on by recruiters without really confirming their age. Same also applies to WW2, too.
While I think the animation and thinking behind the film were sound and admirable, I think it's worth pointing out Action Man was not just a soldier. He was whatever the kid wanted him to be and that was reflected in the uniforms and equipment available...he could be a scuba diver, a mountaineer, a member of the RNLI etc etc. Therefore, being just "a soldier" is a bit of a stereotype and a bit unfair to what Action Man was actually designed to be. I had one that was a footballer!.
This also happened during World War II when soldiers who were misled into a losing cause felt the same way but not also suffering from mental trauma but guilt for fighting with an ideology that destroyed the lives of millions
This lecture also has me know that; the 'Vietnam War,' was the unauthorized war. Arnold schwarzenegger isn't too sharp about this. We should've let Australia handle this war instead.
Don't think it would make much difference to the British army tbh. Besides they are not allowed to go on active deployment until at least 18-19 years old.
Here in the states you have to be at least 18 years old to join for ex the Army or Marines, When I graduated school many of my peers went into the USMC which is something I wished

I agree, I'm not anti-defending of innocent people, I am however, anti - human chess games for political gain.

@@hastyhillfarmand4x480 Remember that happened during WW2 and before that WW1 where millions died because of one man's actions for global domination
Lol they didn't have the guts to show the PTSD one or more than 3 seconds of the dead one

Also - healty children playing with toys like realistic wheelchair will grow up more accepting and conpassionate for disabled people.

Excellent guys. I totally agree with you. Where can I buy an AM wheelchair. I am a wheelchair user myself, result of hard manual work and a car crash.

Seems like they need to have options for 16 year olds and let them transition into combat related rolls at 18 if they desire.

They're not real Action Man dolls. They were made specifically for the video they were used in.

How about an Action Man remake of Tumbledown?
Great work guys...👍👍👍
16 year olds are juniors and don't go on active service, it's was always said war is fit young men fighting for the property of old rich men
That's what unfortunately happened once during World War II when a ideology can mislead people into misery
