I personally am not against these type of paint jobs for those who are on a budget because at least you're trying to actually fix up the car. Besides these paint jobs are just temporary. I see many people just have old cars sitting in their yards and never have a plan to do anything with them.
I did this exact paint job a year ago with the black to get rid of the faded factor paint. This Monday she's going in the booth for a real paint job, doing it myself too.
I picked up a 2013 Ford Interceptor Sedan that had bad white paint. It was a K9 unit. I ended up doing the same thing and painted the whole car and added 2K clear. It came.out looking great and I've only paint a few cars myself. Very doable if you take your time.

So I paint cars and do body work for a living. You're on the right track with this. I understand the style of paint job and have done the same with my Del Sol. This monday in putting it in the booth for a real paint job. Yea sure it has orange peel but lets be honest, you cant see it doing 75 down the highway. Good job my guy! 💪💪💪

Dude, that turbo stuff had actually a pretty big fan pattern! You know, that $25 green harbor freight gun is actually pretty decent. It only works well for 2-3 paint jobs, but for $25 can really help minimize the orange peel. Napa/Advance/O'reilleys typically mix paint and have a entire base/clear system for reasonable. Never thought of a ceramic coat for clear, very nice!
Yeahh, but then I gotta buy a decent size air compressor which is hundreds of dollars and whatnot... I was also rushing spraying this car because of time and weather, I think I could minimize orange peel with more time on my hands and not relying on the wood stove to dry it overnight. I also never do this really, haha. I didn't even prime the box on my Toyota before painting it and it came out actually as good or better than this. It's just a work truck though. And thanks man! Yeah the ceramic coat works very well. Makes it easy to clean too

Definitely looks good and I'm gonna be honest most professionals tend to hate this because they loose customers because of these types of paint but it's more worth this than spending 8k dollars on a paint job that the next day will get wrecked by pebbles on the road and people using trimmers on the road.
Thanks dude! And yeah, I couldn't see spending that type of money on a paint job, especially with this cars current condition. So many haters from this video telling me things I should have done, even though I address it in the video several times 😅😅. Mostly positive responses to this video which is cool. Just wanted to make the car one color and show people a cheap way to make their beaters look nicer.
I'll be doing another rattle can job on my "new" truck when I get it. Going to put a little more effort into that one and clear coat it

Honestly you can make this kind of paint job look good if you sand the orange peel out and use a 2k clear coat

Looks great! Really want to do my EF in white but just havent done it because I dont want to ruin the paint on there even though it isnt the best. My dream has always been to have a white EF though so I might just have to with this method!

I couldn't get the moldings off so I took off all the panels to get to the clips. Your way is so much easier

Wait till paint tacks up and drys up for 2-4 days then buff it with rubbing Compound but go to your nearest paint store or auto parts store.
Take picture of your bumper and look and use it as a reference to keep your body lines of your integra.
Never knew Nu Finish made a ceramic coat. I've used their "Once a year polish" in the past with great results.

Just remember, you can paint over anything with the oil based rustoleum, but not the other way around ! You will have to strip off all the rustoleum, or use a special sealer coat to paint that car base coat ,clear coat.

Unfortunately, keep getting bailed on. I don't understand why. They'll be all for doing it and then just ghost me basically. I have one other lead on someone that may actually do them. Otherwise my only option will be to find a clean shell and swap all my stuff over to it
Your shell isn't to bad it's pretty clean. I say fix that shell, If that's the only spot that has rust. I know the feeling I helped some people in the past doing swaps to have them ghost me once the job was done. Only wanted to hang out and enjoy the cars lol.

Better than it was basically what I was shooting for 😂. And I just used rubber plugs

I've never used the black but I assume it would have very similar results

If you listened to the video, this is just a temporary paint job to make the car one color until I find better panels and save up to have it professionally painted back to the original color, red.
I mentioned in the video that this isn't a professional paint job. This is also spray paint, so it's obviously not professional. I also chose white to hide imperfections like I've stated and so it's easier to paint match when I add other body modifications like a lip, spoiler, etc.
The car is nowhere near finished. I was just sick of it looking like a stolen, drug mobile. The goal of this paint job was to make the car all one color. Not to teach someone how to paint a car. I thought I made that clear throughout the video as other people have noticed.
Should’ve waited a week at least to put any type of wax/ceramic whatever on there, a month would be best.
Orange peel remains, needs sanding and varnish!
Bro..... if you already have an air compressor, just pick up a Harbor Freight Special Purple Paint Sprayer for $20 or less. Learn how to prep and paint, it ain't hard and you can make your car turned out professionally looking.... at a budget. Just use Rust-Oleum paint, it works and a lot of folks have done budget paintjobs that turn out damn good.

Use a window with a box fan and a filter
Yeah, only problem is you want to set that up down low. Only way I could do that is if I plywood the whole height of the opening in my garage door and have the fan on the floor. Just doesn't work well with the door on my shop. If I had a normal garage door, I'd totally do it
