I’ve owned Honda for years and have really loved them, so when I went to look at the new Prologue I have to say I was disappointed to find that it didn’t feel like a Honda on the inside. That was a game changer for me. The smaller back window and less storage space on back was sort of a shock and the front area just didn’t meet met expectations. REALLY didn’t like the gear shift on the steering wheel column. I have a CR-V now and I’m going to keep it
Sure! The Honda Elite is a stylish scooter that's great for city commuting. It's lightweight, which makes it super easy to maneuver, and it has a decent amount of storage space under the seat.
The 22 Outlander SEL I sold to my mom, this interior and controls reminds me of that vehicle. So, now we will have GM, Nissan, Infiniti, Mitsubishi and Honda/Acura all working together. Think about that hard before you correct me.

Re-badging as a strategy never works. Nobody believes even for a nano-second that this is a real Honda. Honda did that decades back with the Isuzu Rodeo/Honda Passport, and it did not work then either.
Re: 23:30, when we first test-drove the Prologue, no idea it was a GM vehicle. I have a CR-V now and I’m going to keep it
it’s not a honda it’s a chevy blazer
This is definitely one of the best Japanese offerings
the prologue and Ariya are objectively the only Japanese EVs that exist.
This isnt a Japanese car. Its a US car with a Honda skin
Best “Japanese” offering😂except everything is GM besides the badge 😂
How's it any different than Toyota, Subaru, and Mazda working together?
@ it’s not, don’t forget BMW. I’m not against any of it.
Looks pretty good in person. Not for me but I kinda like honda testing the EV water with shared platform. They are trading on their ICE reputation.
You seem so disappointed in a 6 second 0-60 time...how many "normal" cars even do that? My daily driver does 0-60 in about 8.5 seconds...plenty fast enough for everyday driving.
For 60k I would expect a faster 0 to 60
It's shorter than you and a CR-V which makes it a station wagon. Nothing SUV about it - including the lack of utility/cargo space.
Great review. Seems like a half-baked effort.
If it's $60k they can shove it. I don't want an SUV and I will not have to buying one like 75% of America has done.
It's a reasonably functioning BEV that doesn't look like a tiny, cramped, spaceship. Sure there's the RT1 or Cybertruck etc...but they're $90,000+. I don't like that it's too much GM, but I'm still looking at it for it's styling and it's lease deal
I bought a prologue EX last month and I love it. Driving around in a black prologue with black badging has me wanting to call her incognegro instead of betty.
Over all the car gives me krusty burger vibes
It's not just good. It's good enough.
??
Come on Honda! You lost me to a Model 3 7 years ago and still haven’t put out your own comparable sedan! What’s the delay??
I’ve only seen one in my city and I live in a decently populated area. But I see Tesla model Ys on every street lol
#4 selling EV in the US
@@getrippedinc you’re either a Honda dealer or are sensitive you chose a car that isn’t popular lol. Look enjoy your car if you like it. Dealers needing to discount $8k on top of $12k in rebates just to move them isn’t a flex. It’s proof this was a dud
@mightymouse9001 I am a dealer and we are losing nothing discounting them. There is thousands in dealer cash. The only three EVs selling better are tesla y, 3 and mach E
@@getrippedinc that says a ton about the industry if the car can be discounted $20k or 33% from MSRP and the dealer doesn’t lose a dime! There aren’t many choices right now for EVs in general let alone affordable options. I’m not surprised that it’s #4
Prologue is the best EV on the market. It is great because it is made by GM. It drives better than new Honda CRV and new Honda Pilot.
😅😅😅It is crap..
@ you clearly have no clue
Clearly not the "best EV" on the market where Teslas easily out does this pretender all day long
You sound like another useless troll!😂😂😂😂
@@thejmcGarage what is the Tesla model of this size?
The slow speed and price ruin it🙄
The comment about the interior piano black showing fingerprints and dust triggering OCD. Of course it will. Why do they keep adding that?
BTW, my OCD is why I watch all your videos. You feed and satisfy my OCD. Thanks for the help!
I have that same noise in my tires, or I don't know where that noise comes from
Opening the hood of this just shows the laziness of the engineering that went into this! What a mess to look at under hood! At the very least they should have put covers over all that ugliness.
Make it a hybrid and I’d buy it!
IDK why it bothers me so much. Must be my ocd but why is Honda not in caps on the back :( HONDA would look so much better IMO
I leased a 2020 Hyundai IONIQ Hybrid and it was an excellent vehicle. It was giving me 57 mpg on the highway and achieving 45-51 mpg’s in town. Hybrid is the way to go!
nice to look at, seems like itd be horrible to live with the software and interior quality though
GM why?
Re-badging as a strategy never works. Nobody believes even for a nano-second that this is a real Honda. Honda did that decades back with the Isuzu Rodeo/Honda Passport, and it did not work then either.
Why 21 inches wheels ?
Re: 23:30, when we first test-drove the Prologue, no idea it was a GM vehicle. But we've never owned a Honda, either: I'd assume only car enthusiasts (a good-natured comment) actually care about badge engineering, what platform it uses (quick, what platform is the Ioniq 5 built on?! Almost nobody in the world knows, %-wise, including Ioniq 5 owners), etc.
They used too many GM parts for my taste. It also has horrible packaging when compared to a Honda passport.
"Sonic Gray - Pearl"
Why is the backup camera so freakin small???? Look at all that black around it!! That is absurd.
You don’t have to be OCD to want clean piano black plastic. Good luck not scratching it!
You lost me at anything associated with GM.
gm better than honda
Wonder why Honda hasn't moved Prologue to the 2025 model year yet? It's almost January 2025?
I heard from Honda that they are going to be making this in house in the next few years, so GM components will be gone.
New achievement unlocked - honda finally has a 360 camera with actual camera views , not the stupid , useless matching 360 camera like toyota .
Bro went kind of hard on this EV. It's super hard to package an EV with actual miles range and interior passanger space, also looking great (not like a fucking mouse I use daily for work for aero). That's all engineering tradoffs. I think Honda did pretty great with the current tradeoffs.
As an enthusiast, if I'm going to trade the convenience of fueling and sound of an ICE, I want the power and instant punch of, say, the Model Y performance. This has neither.
@@plutonium9 for $60k you can get a slightly used Porsche Taycan from 2021. Would take that over this
Great review
Honda fields an mediocre EV product
At least it's not a bZ4x
I rather have the BZ4X or it's twin the Subaru Solterra over this!
@@thejmcGarage Thanks for the ignorance
@@InvestBetter. why the hate when I have driven both the Honda and the Subaru version of the BZ4X, have you?
This thing gives me the old accord wagon vibes.....
This is the Blazer GM should have made. The Honda looks much better.
Love the looks but a hard pass on the GM parts. They had major issues with the EV blazer and even had a stop sell.
So popular that I haven’t seen a single one on the road yet near me lol. Too expensive! It’s nice though and I like that it has CarPlay unlike its Chevy brothers
@@mightymouse9001 only if you live in the woods. I see Prologues daily in Florida
@ I’m also in Florida! Hey there neighbor! I daily drive from Palm Coast to Jacksonville for work and haven’t seen them over here. I’m sure if you’re in Orlando or south Florida you have a better chance.
I have seen more cyber trucks than these. Which is a shame because these are ncie
@@mightymouse9001 I see them in Tampa. I was a big fan of Cybertruck until I saw them on the road and I hope they disappear fast. Prologue actually looks modern and normal
@@00_UU I actually like the angles of the cybertruck until you get to the rear and side rear view. So awful!
If you spend so much on a car it better look good from all angles! They needed to do some type of tapering off in the rear or something
@@00_UUI'm live in California, there's 2 cybertrucks on my street and not 1 prologue 😂
Please Honda🙏🏻 give us a petrol version of this one.
Dumb car when you can get a pilot for way less
I guess the Honda emblem used to mean something
@Honda don’t make this mistake again.
Sofyan, just give the top of screen a gentle slap to get ‘er goin.
Not “park bench seats” LOL😂
#HONDADRAG
Fiat 500e offering in Colorado a $0.00 per Month lease for 27 Months is a wakeup call to the entire Industry yes this is an amazing first effort at pure play BEV for Honda and they would be well served to sustain as close a relationship with GM as possible given all that GM is now doing holistically with pure play BEV but none of which anyone is doing remotely compares to Tesla still and both Rivian and Lucid are not at all looking in the rear view mirror as relates to legacy Das Auto either/as well. Verdict: *"kiss and make up invades Japan Inc suddenly"* 😊😊
Those seats are ORANGE 😂
Too much gm not a real EV built by Honda exclusively
The one and only reason they are popular is because honda put out so many incentives the car is basically free. I sell Hondas and we had a 24 month lease on this car for $189 per month with zero down. The dealership lost money on every single unit just to dump them before 2025 because we are scared to keep them in stock. Almost every car had a ton of issues. If you get one LEASE IT! dont buy it they are extremely unreliable and noone at honda knows how to fix them since they are basically a blazer ev
It LITERALLY says "pre production" on the front door on the exterior when he is filming the car. It's NOT representative of the actual productions models sold. These DO NOT lag in the real world. They are snappy enough and feel like any other honda infotainment. In other words not that great lol. The latest android implementation on the accord touring is decent but even that is meh
More Honda DNA? Starts with an VTEC engine and manual, not an EV/Computer on four wheels.
Grow up, it’s not the 90s no more.
Just FYI, Honda itself has no DNA left. New CRV is a dull vehicle for retired boomers 🤔
At 20:35 my prologue elite does the same thing when making a hard right turn or hard left turn. Also when reversing if it’s raining or foggy the auto brakes kick in all the time. Even if turned off on settings it still automatically activates. Extremely annoying trying to get out a parking spot. Car has so many issues. Stay away
We get it- this is a GM vehicle.
Honda could have used more "Honda" parts if they wanted to. They chose not to. If you want this vehicle, you have to accept that this is a "sub-standard" GM product. And like it was said, this is a pre-production model. I don't understand the revulsion of GM products, like they are tainted. I know I'll get a lot of negative responses.
It's funny you do the 0-60 test and criticize it, but then say that people don't buy an SUV for that, yet you still do the test. I love your videos, but doing a 0-60 test on an SUV is silly, electric or not. Most people also don't care about it's partly GM as long as it is good quality. Again, great video as usual.
Your unit’s screen is borked. Ours has never lagged like that, nor in the three other Prologue’s we sat in. I cannot understand why Honda would give you a pre-production model in December 2024. Embarrassing.
Under 300 mile range is just disappointing. I hope ev ranges increase in the next couple years.
I don’t get why this is selling so well. It’s a GM. There is nothing Honda about it other than the badge, and that touch screen is insanely bad.
Don’t buy this. It’s a GM full and full with the exception of the Honda badge. It even comes up as a Chevy Blazer during diagnostics. 😆
Put a V6 in it and I'll two of them.
