- It took some work to get permission to detect this location which has some great potential. First time out Bill used the Minelab Manticore with the M8 coil!

Hi guys! nice to see a change with a undisclosed location hunt. Looks like change was the popular find today. The two rings were nice. Good job Bill. Felt bad for Buddy when he was under the table. Great hunt at the new location. A ring is a ring. My counselor turned out like that using toilet bowl cleaner. I found 5 dollars in clad the other day at a park. I like to lots found a gold bracelet yesterday. Keep swinging and stay safe. Peace

Hey bill and christine. I found a way to clean ground coins from parks. Soak them for 3 hours in distilled water and take a toothbrush and lightly scrub them and the majority of gunk will come off. Try it.

What I love about metal detecting is it's often free money and occasionally jewellery. And cars for Christine 😀😀😀😀😀
✓ Coin tumbler with white vinegar and rock salt. Tumble for 1/2 hour. Rinse and do again with water and 1 drop of dish soap. Rinse and dry and done.
✓ Do not mix pennies with your clad otherwise your clad will turn copper color.

I thought it was funny when you said "wow that was deep, almost 3 inches!" When I go out hunting in an old park looking for old coins or silver I don't dig anything less than 6 in because it's most likely just modern clad. If you really want to look for silver and old coins you're going to have to crank that sensitivity up, get a little shovel and dig some bigger holes! That new coil sounds great, how do you like it?

Bill... tumble the pennies separately if you don't already... and don't use the CLR on the clad... it will wash out the copper into solution and you get ... well... that. I just use dawn and maybe a little lemon juice but usually just the dawn... cleans them enough.
Good to see you all covered up Bill, I never imagined how important it is until here very recently, I just had a serious encounter with Melanoma surgery. I will be investing in my protection with hooded running long sleeve shirts and long lightweight running pants to try to stay cool, making sure that they have an SPF factor of 50 or better. I never miss a video and always enjoy all of the banter as well as laid back Buddy. Powered By Cupcakes!!!

Bill - Did you add any copper pennies with your clad coins when cleaning. If you did this is why they are pink in color. I do them separate so not to have this problem. I to, use the same mixture as you do so it's not the chemicals. I bet it's the pennies being washed with the clad coins. Hope this helps.
Yep, I bet that's the cause, that happened to my coins too.
Actually I learned the hard way years ago not to put them together. I was told by a previous comment to add CLR, vinegar and salt. One of those is the cause. I tried removing CLR and still pink so I did the opposite and still pink. I am thinking could it be the salt. That is my next test. Puzzled. For now I am back to just dawn soap
I agree, because I also use CLR and vinegar to clean my clad and the only time they come out looking like copper is when I actually have a penny in with the clad. 😎👍🏼

You gotta get the big coil for the manticore, I'm dying to know where you got into
Nice hunt when you use winger or this other mixtures never put together copper or copper plated coins with nickel or another silver colour coins as it will start electrolysis and you will be finished with everything covered with thin copper layer. Is probably better use tumbler machine with just washing up liquid and even then separate copper materials from another one.

Don't knock finding pennies, for instance a 1915 D is worth 9.00. A 1922 D is going for 22.00 and some are over 100.00 now!

Use white vinegar only ! You can use white vinegar in an ultrasonic cleaner with a heater as well ( DO NOT !! DO NOT !! ) Use this method on relics you really care about. It is very harsh on some metals.
And if you want to tumble clad coins used only white fish aquarium gavel and a few drops of damn dish soap. Tumble for 48 hours. Yes 48 hours/ They come out looking almost new.

Did you clean the key with the coins?If so it is copper and that is why you got pink clad.

Coins turn pink if you accidentally include a copper!! Your mixture won’t matter. You must keep them separate

If I leave one penny in with other clad it seems to copper plate everything.
Bill if you will use toilet cleaner Lysol rust and lime away with water in a tumbler it will clean your coins like new.
in the olden days we received a well rounded education...am i right?...ron
