One of the best vampire films ever made that still attracts a audience today.
Nooooooo.....However its one of the tv movies that could desperately use an actual theatrical adaptation...Because not only is the tv movie kinda doo doo, its not aged well at all and looks god awful since it was a made for tv movie....
IF anything a new adaptation of Salem's Lot would be alot better than just continually doing new adaptations of things like The Stand, The Shining, Pet Sematary etc......The IT movie was a hell of alot better than the TV miniseries, maybe it could help Salem's Lot
@@lutherheggs451 2004 remake wasn't too bad but it's another Stephen King adaptation that is up for a remake or announced it was in pre-production about two years ago. Pet Semetary remake, I couldn't sit through it, it was awful.
Yes You have no idea how excited I got seeing this in my recommended
When TV movies/mini series were actually good
Yep. I watched the DVD release a few years ago and was impressed on how good it was for a made for TV movie/mini-series.
A Layton Eversaul on a horror favorite from my childhood? Definitely worth the wait.
I hadn't seen this movie for years, then finally bought the mini-series on blu a few years ago and was amazed at how well it held up. Looking forward to the doc!
Your analysis of this film, that I just watched today, was very entertaining and informative. Great work.
I first saw salems lot on Mon 7th Sep 1981, @ on BBC One TV UK. I was 16 and me and my baby sisters were sitting huddled on the settie in fear and awe at part one of salems lot. My Mother being catholic tried to stop us from watching it and we begged her to let us. She gave in and prayed for our souls. I'll never forget this great 2 part TV eps
My favorite vampire film ever. Hands down. The vampires were truly frightening.
Layton, SO glad you are back, man!
This could have been a trailer for an ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES review, and I wouldn't have cared.
Good to know!
Agreed. The format and presentation is perfect and I'm always engrossed from beginning to end, regardless of the subject matter. Well done to Layton. May it long continue!
Good to have you back my friend!
Wow, your trailer here should've replaced the original one... so well done!! It renews my fascination with it since I was 7 when it came out in 1979.
I'll be 50 next year and it's still to this day my favorite movie ever.
Great to see you back Leyton👍 Looking forward to this!
YES!! MY GUY MR. EVERSAUL IS BACK!
Geez, I haven't read this book in years. Can't wait to learn more about the film. I own it on VHS but also have not watched it in years.
The book is worth a re-read!
This mini series freaked me out when I was a kid.
Just in time for the Halloween season 😊
Very excited to see your next video!
Hoping the upcoming remake will be good
Thus movie scared the bejeezus out of me as a kid. It's still creepy.
Yes! The return
New subber -Your channel is way underrated:)Hope it blows up this fall Mr. Eversaul:)
that music still gives me the creeps man im not even kidding
The Soundtrack makes this movie! Something that’s going to be hard to reproduce in the upcoming movie!!
Excellent!
I was just in Ferndale a few weeks back. Visited the Salem’s Lot filming locations.
That’s awesome! I’m sure that portion of the video will feel very familiar to you.
Well done!
So good.👍
Nightmares for a week. Still creepy AF
Hey Layton, why did you end up deleting your blu ray collection vids? Those were some of my favorites
I’ve actually just hidden them. I hid all of my older videos to make my channel a little easier to navigate. That being said, you’ve made me rethink the Blu-Ray videos!
UNAS DE LAS MEJORES ECENA DE TERROR DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS EL CHICO GOLPEANDO LA VENTANA 👏👏👏
I know nothing about this movie besides the title (and now that David Soul was in it), looking for to the video.
Layton, when is this releasing, do you think? I'm home bored with covid.
That sucks! It’s on Patreon now and will be live on UA-cam this Tuesday 9/7 at midnight. Hope you feel better.
I watched the retrospective first and then the trailer after. I think I am doing this wrong...
After I read the novel, this movie was a major disappointment to me. The remake in 2004 was an improvement but still a disappointment. Neither movie was an accurate adaptation of the book. If the new remake by James Wan is faithful and accurate in every major scene of the book, it could be one of the greatest horror films ever made. To me, the first two movie versions of Salem's Lot were forgettable.
