Mike’s family was so nice to take the blind man in after his aunt and uncle died . What a wonderful family they are . That touched my heart the man wasn’t alone in his last years .
Robert, So sad but rewarding to have you and your local Historians show us the history of the enslaved and their descendants. AS long as one person remembers them, they live in memory. Thank you, Rik Spector
It is wonderful there are people that keep the history of the past alive and not forgotten. It seems the younger generation could care less about their ancestors.😢
And On both sides of the racial lines at that, families didn't talk. I heard virtually nothing from my mother, whose formative years were in Kentucky, or from my Aunt (mom's sister) whose formative years were spent in the north. I'd like to know how that happened. No one said. Now there is no one left to speak.@@Fuzzmom903
I have two neices that are from my half sister , their grandfather , my moms first husband died of an anyerism along with his sister and his parents all died of cancer or an anyerism ..their mother , my sister died suddenly in 2004 of we thibk an anyerism ..these gkirls dont worry about their health or their daughters health ..my Mom has 4 Gr GRANDAUGHTERS SHE HASNT SEEN IN OVER A YR ..SHE IS 92 YRS OLD...L
Oh my goodness Robert, I could sit all day n listen to Mr. Mike Buckner. The history that he knows is incredible. How I envy you to be so blessed being born n raised in Georgia n to have all these wonderful stories. It truly melts my heart. One of your better videos for sure. Loved every moment of it. ♥️♥️♥️♥️👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟
I absolutely love listening to Mike tell stories. He sounds like home people to me. That poor lady who never lay down for fear of a haint getting her! Mr. Dan is a great story teller too. I really enjoyed this history, Robert. Good job!
I am enjoying these videos with Mr. Buckner. He reminds me of my Papaw (1913-1999); that man could tell you about every farm in east-central IL and west-central IN. I loved to listen to him talk and tell stories.
@@cdd4248 I actually do plan on writing an autobiography for my kids & grandkids. Mainly so I can pass along my memories of all the special people they barely knew, or never knew at all.
What national treasures you have in Mr Buckner and Mr Dan. Keep learning, Robert. Soak it all up for someday someone will look up to you as their mentor.
That was a very cool video! That baptisimal pool!! There had to be a small spring that fed into it. Imagine the folks who found the spring and decided to make good use of it and built that concrete tank.🎉 I could listen to both Mike and Dan all day long!! They know so much history and their southern accents are a joy to my ears as I am from Arkansas.
I could listen to him talking about the history of this place for days! This is not only wonderful for your viewers, but it will be priceless to his family one day. My dad was a historian and a stately gentleman like Mr. Mike. Thank you for sharing!
You all are a wonderful group of caring and knowledgeable people and I really enjoy your channel. Mr. Buckner and Mr. Dan can remember a lot of history first hand, and it's so sad that the church was moved, leaving behind the family members and brothers and sisters for nature to overtake their resting place. Thanks for another great adventure!
What an interesting man! SO knowledgeable and as someone from the North (Ohio) I just love his accent! It’s a shame more families don’t keep up with their families genealogy more. So much of who you are as a person comes from a relative in your past. I personally find that amazing!
Im one of those people who really care about Our past History😊 I enjoy going to visit places that has alot of past history 😊 And learning about what happened back then and looking for old graves and when I ,see any children's graves I, say a prayer for the child, and say RIP Also Thank any of our past war heroes for their Services ❤
Hi Robert and Dan and Mike it's great of Mike telling the history it's always intresting to me about the history of the south I find it fascinating about the past perhaps stone construction with water could be a baptism font to the church see look Robert how interesting I always wonder what else is in those woods thanks for making a intresting video all the best Andrew south wales uk 👍 👌 😀 🇬🇧
Excellent, and it leaves me wondering about their homes, their stories, youth, teenage, and adult life experiences. I live "People Stories" from old times, so interesting.
I love how y’all are keeping track of southern history. This is amazing!! This is history. WE CANNOT CHANGE HISTORY! WE CANNOT CHANGE THE PAST!! We can only change the future. Thank you for showing this!! Laura, Northeastern, KY.
I live in Fresno California, a large ag town, it's sad to see farmers lose their farms due to bad years, involving frost, drought or other bad weather. Considering that they grow a lot of tree nuts and stone fruits like peaches in Fresno County, I can sympathize with those farmers.
I really enjoyed this video. Mike and Dan have a treasure trove of historical knowledge. Makes me wished I had asked more questions when my grandparents were still alive. My grandfather owned a farm that was passed down through several generations. I'm sure he had some stories to tell.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. I love the history you have in Georgia and that people like me get to learn about it. You are a great historian Robert.👍😍
Another outstanding historical video. The stories that the gentleman was talking about are priceless memories that can't be forgotten. Keep up the great work. 👍
Oh, I can remember from back when I was a kid, some Searcy black folks in our area...we all lived together in the same communities back then, our nearest neighbor (across the pasture) was Aunt Sarah and Uncle Isiah, who I well remember and dearly loved. LOVE all this history and exploring cemeteries.
I really enjoy listening to how connected to prior generations these people are. Not just facts and dates but little stories about people that really make them live on.
That wonderful gentleman didn’t have to look at the road at all 😱. He knew the road. I hope that the wonderful woman will take over like Dan with all the history. All beautiful people 💖
What an interesting mixture of friends in your life.. Thank them for sharing their knowledge and memories. We don't realize how special all this is usually until it is gone. 😊😊
I don't know what else I could add to what has already been said in the comments section, truly amazing people preserving history with their words. You too Robert have some knowledge of history that you've shared with us. Wouldn't it be neat to get together and put pen to paper!😊
Mr Mike thank you for taking us on this trip. Hi Mr Dan!! So much history and stories told by Mr Mike of these people he knew. I always say, after speaking their name they are alive once more. Loved the cemeteries.
I really enjoyed this video and all the others that Mike Buckner has been in . I always like all the knowledge he and Mr Dan share with everyone. Robert Thank you for doing all the history videos.
Thanks to Mike for allowing us an insight into the history on his land. Did make me wonder if the current congregation know the history of their church and the forgotten graves.

He definitely worked for his keep as we would know.

It is wonderful there are people that keep the history of the past alive and not forgotten. It seems the younger generation could care less about their ancestors.😢
I know that when I was younger I didn't care, but now I wish I knew about them all... But then my family kept Alot of things a secret ...
It’s conditioning passed on from slavery
Excellent video !

I was thinking the same; that would have been beautiful and delicious!
I absolutely love listening to Mike tell stories. He sounds like home people to me. That poor lady who never lay down for fear of a haint getting her! Mr. Dan is a great story teller too. I really enjoyed this history, Robert. Good job!
Mr. Buckner is a National Treasure..This video was a real treat!
Please have mike on more . His wisdom is amazing
I found it interesting, that being out in the woods, how modern some of the Graves were. It's sad that some Graves are unmarked, and largely forgotten
Yes the old ones never surprise me, but the new ones in the woods do
What a great group of historians, tons of information.
I am enjoying these videos with Mr. Buckner. He reminds me of my Papaw (1913-1999); that man could tell you about every farm in east-central IL and west-central IN. I loved to listen to him talk and tell stories.

These lives mattered then, and now everyone has a story to tell, just glad someone here to tell your story !

Thank you for sharing these Graves with us and showing the respect you have for them😮

Sustaining and maintaining history. Curious Robert, do you set pin a GPS location when you find something unrecorded?
I love these long videos and all the history that goes with it!
Thanks to Mike for allowing us an insight into the history on his land. Did make me wonder if the current congregation know the history of their church and the forgotten graves.
