    This stuff is alright, I picked up a can out of curiosity (I like 5% beers and thought ok ok 5.6% is going to be a bit heavy) but it is far from it, I have not drank it warm from the can and i serve it cold straight into a pint glass (it has cool little temperature thing on the cans that turns blue when it is the perfect 6c) . It is very clean, very light for it's strength. No nasty hangovers with this stuff and I decided to buy a 4 pack this time round.... wow all good, since all beer that we get in the UK is all brewed under license watered down chemical crap these days it is nice to be able to get hold of some proper stuff. My local shop has them for £1.49 a can, expensive but I can give them some slack since they have been properly imported. It tastes good. I would buy them over a 4 pack of the stuff they call "Stella" here anyday. Thank you Polish people for bringing this beer here :-)

    I had it during a layover flight in Warsaw. And this beer has been perfect for me. Maybe one could argue that my taste is not great given that my previous favourite was Stella, but I loved it a lot.
    It sounds as Zjiviech, as far as my Polish friend is concerned.

    Excluding supermarket brands, what would you say the best mass produced larger is?

      The one mass produced lager that draws my interest if I see on offer, is ‘San Miguel’. I’ve always enjoyed it.

    Close. Instead of a t sound at the end it’s like “ts” and the Ż makes a similar sound like the French J. So żywiets

    Żywiec was a legend decades ago. Nowadays taste of Galereux from Lidl beats Żywiec taste. By the way, what would you say about Galereux beer sweetness? Is it natural or artificial?

    How do you make fun of this and call it crap, and then let Stella slide? This is a decent lager, I find it quite drinkable. Like it better than Stella that's for sure. At least give it a serious review like you did for Stella.

    For many years Żywiec was a synonym for quality and main export Polish beer but recently even Żubr or Warka tasting better.

    Interesting. I watched another well known beer reviewer give this a very good rating. Personally, I’d just give it a “meh” sort of rating. Has that typical “euro” lager flavour which I’m not a fan of at all. But I do disagree with the sweetness you spoke of - pretty decent and well-rounded (in comparison to the cheap lagers we have in Canada, which are sickly sweet in my opinion). Nice review!

      American here: can agree that lagers in this category here are absolutely worse than this here. If that is artificial to you-- have a bud light.

      Wasting money on all that most popular, cheapest supermarket industrial Polish piddle is not very clever unfortunately.. :( P.S have you ever reviewed Carling, Bud or Foster's? Exactly.

    Making my way through your reviews with the lagers and joining in. This is horrible and I get that artificial sweetener taste, almost like someone has dropped a boiled sweet in it. Warka is a lot better haha. Your frustration tells the tale.

    It's become popular in the UK due to the Polish influx. It'll generally those Poles who are less educated and of a lower class and who have no interest in the cultures of the countries of the UK who'll drink this. Educated Poles who are interested in England, Scotland and Wales and want to savour the best those countries have to offer drink trad ales or craft beer. Remember that the craft beer scene in Poland has kicked off big, but just as in the UK it tends to be the younger, professional, more educated and affluent who drink and appreciate these beers. Or maybe those who think for themselves and don't go with the herd. I've been to Poland and when I've been there, I've drank the best beer in their best craft beer bars. It's about respecting and appreciating the best that the country has to offer.

    beer is excellent, this guy is a clown. The first half of the first beer has a distinct taste and then this beer really gets busy. Just killed a 6 pack in like an hour. Its defintely in the top 3 of all time

    I am from Poland, don't care about craft beer and drink all the standard * premium * polish lagers. In fact Zywiec is one of the poorest. Would rate it 3-4/10. Below average. For me it has ripe strawberry aftertaste. My recommendations as far as mass produced polish beers: Lomza and Okocim

  • @theUnicornOfPower
    @theUnicornOfPower 2 роки тому +1

    Viewer from Poland here. Zywiec is the worst Polish premium lager, which is funny because they portray themselves as the most "premium" of them all. They're always a bit more expensive than their main competitors like Tyskie, or Lech. Other Zywiec beers such as the APA, "Pszeniczna IPA" (wheat IPA), "Białe" (witbier) are decent. Zywiec Porter (baltic porter) is legendary! But their main product is terrible for some reason.
