A friend of mine had it with the same exhaust, it was like a beast coming from hell to eat suv drivers souls, traffic moved aside when they heard him coming, it boiled water at every stop. When you ride it, it feels like it's about to explode at any moment, like having TNT instead of an engine. And when you rev it, it does explode, BIG flames included. You couldn't even think of touching the throttle because all it wanted to do was wheelie. Sickest bike I've ever seen on the road.
@@ylleskog fair decision, I presume the sxv is one of the worst bikes to do long rides on lol. It's my wet dream (together with an rsv4 cuz I'm an aprila fanboy) but I already know I wouldn't be capable of doing the proper maintenance on it if I bought it.
@@amac_ yes, one of the best bikes I've own but absolutely one of the worst to maintain. It once broke down hard just as the season started, I hated the bike at that point. You have to try the SXV out. I rode it for 200km straight as longest and my ass died... Take care!

The long start behavior has been discussed at length over on the AF1 Forums. Visit and do a search. Can be improved with revised mapping/ECU programming and other means. Your ECU is programmed NOT to start until a certain time has passed; that time can be reduced.
my dad's go one but a 450 don't no the year but it got recalled by aprilla but he never took it back to the dealership the bike doesn't run. only has 300 miles on it the bike sound like it what's too start, think it might be the mapping
Karl Perkins it is probably a 2007. The engine sealant was bad on all 2007 aprilia engines and often ruptured causing coolant to leak into the engine. I had my rxv 450 engine rebuilt for $1000. It runs great now. I'd consider having the engine rebuilt.
