one minute in and I was going to have a rant about 'Hipsters' - I take it all back - a real bike builder making good stuff, what a great fun bike . Also as usual fantastic cinematography by Jamie - a quality production all round - well done everyone !
More of these types of videos please! Delve more into the custom scene, more stories from bikers, loving it! Would have liked to have seen more of his shop and other bikes too btw. Love the travel stuff too, but it is nice to have some variety for sure. With jamie's infectious passion for these two wheeled machines, there is potential for some great content!
Another MotoGeo video, another smile on my face !!! Congratulations for the quality of your job man ! The bike sound, the images... everything is very well build !! I've just got my Scrambler Ducati and I can't stop watching your videos !!! My Father also have a bike and I like to show him how you live ! Please continue this show !!! Cheers from Brazil !
just get a 950 or 990 SM if you want a road-legal version with an actual tank. Technically this bike really isnt much different from the bike its based on, same suspension, frame, brakes and engine. Just different seat, (oil)tank, radiators and plastics with some minor technical details (brake master cylinder etc...) yeah it looks slick but i doubt it rides very different to my 950 SMR.
Mikelikesbikes they already did. That bike is just a 690sm with a stroker kit. Nothing special there. Husqavarna makes a 700 Ducati made an 1100 hypermoto evo sp Honda makes a 1000 Africa twin Ktm makes a 1290 adventure
Paul Colburn, I'm afraid you don't appear to know anything about supermoto or indeed engine configurations. As Vaino says below, the 690 is a single. I know, because I have owned a KTM 690 SMC-R and put 10,000 miles on it, including multiple track days. The 790 engine is a twin. It will have different characteristics to the single - more torque, more power and a less narrow power band. The 690 revved to 7000 and only came alive from 5000 rpm plus. It was surprisingly quite a peaky bike. It also runs out of steam at circa 100-110 mph, depending on your gearing. This meant that it was not an ideal road bike or big track bike. But it was also a little heavy for proper supermoto, e.g. on small/kart tracks. I know this because I own and have raced a KTM 450 SMR. Husky’s ‘700’ is the 701, which is almost exactly the same as the 690 SMC-R. I have ridden several. They have a more or less identical engine, ie a big single. Again, different to the 790 twin engine. Ducati’s hypermotard 1100 is also a twin, but it is outdated and heavy. They make the 939 Hypermotard SP, their latest hypermotard, which I test rode not two weeks ago. It is nice - very very fast - but in my opinion over-priced (circa £13,500) again too heavy and many say they have reliability issues. I think it would be blown out the water by a 790 SMR. I have no idea why you have referred to the Africa Twin and the 1290 Adventure, they are adventure bikes and have nothing to do with the supermoto market.
I love that the builder really didnt mind him beating the hell out of the bike on the "test drive". He just truly appreciates when someone enjoys his hard work & craftsmanship. That's how all builders should be. There's no satisfaction in building something you're only going to keep to yourself & probably rarely drive anyways.
What...an...amazing machine! i can definetly believe you'd feel like a fugitive from the law riding that! Top built! Everything just looks so clean and precisely built.Awesome!
Ktm 990 smr, was awesome bike, fun to ride, everything worked perfect. I still miss it! Love to watch your videos, they put me on really good mood everytime! Thanks so much!
Now this is my type of bike......Hats off to Max Hazan for creating a beautiful masterpiece. I wonder if Max has thought about selling the blueprint for this monster. :)
Well, I guess that has some sort of wind deflector that pushes the air into it. Frankly, my LC4 (690 Duke) runs fairly cold in tropical 35-40c weather as far as I am moving. Once you are at stop-start traffic, the fan comes on and the thing starts to cook your bollocks slowly :) ... And the duke has a big front radiator that works well.... That's why I am wondering why you would mount a rad sideways. Sure it is cool, and the bike is skinnier, but not sure if it keeps the engine happy in all (or most) conditions.
how does putting the radiator sideways make the wheelbase shorter? Fork is at the same place, rear wheel is at the same place. Unless we are talking about removing a huge under-frame rad, then somehow chopping the frame shorter I don't see how placing it sideways make the bike shorter. It however makes it narrower. I actually think, that if you have a fan or deflector that pushes the air into it all it does is boil your knees. Looking at my Duke 690 -> air goes through, and hits the engine and goes around it Looking at my EXC -> air goes through forced in the opening the tank creates -> some vents on me , some hits the tank/engine and goes around it With this setup, it vents directly on your knee.... I mean you have to be on the bike to actually see how you are, but generally where that rad is where my knee would be on that bike ... or close to that....
cops are uneducated (unless motorcycle cop) so you just need it for the states that have inspection, and only at time of inspection, then you're ok. A lot of guys run without registration or a plate around here too. cops don't bother too much if you're in the city
02:09 It lost 150 pounds ?????? KTM 950 original: 187 kg (412 pound) KTM 950 (MaxH): ~122 kg (269 pound) KTM 450 EXC-F: 111 kg (245 pound) .. how is this even possible? After all, it's the same engine, same frame and same swingarm (either way, the bike looks amazing!)
Amazing video one more time. But It has been a bit short!! I bet Jamie could do a few more nice videos with this guy. Many people interested in customization nowadays. Congrat's Jamie!
I 've got to get myself one of these ... I wonder why KTM officials don't talk to this builder and have a small limited edition hitting the market ... sometime in the future , it'd be awesome ...
Great video but he sounds like he’s confusing the KTM Adventure and Supermoto. No-one could describe the latter as an Adventure bike. No screen, minimal fairing, cast wheels and road tyres, one piece flat seat just like the Acerbis one on the build, small tank range etc etc
Rottweiler performance intake kit, Sas Block off plates, a good aftermarket high flowing air filter and last but never least a good set of aftermarket pipes for that beautiful 75 degree V 🤩
This guy understood the supermoto market.
This bike is just perfect. I would 100% buy this bike. Can someone from KTM make this bike available please
haha its funny because this is KTM (engine frame swingarm)
@@lukasraus3391 That's why he asked...
But it's not so much legal
@@tingel-tangelbob3122 why isn't it "not so much legal"?.

this dude really makes rideable art pieces.. love his builds
This is maybe the prettiest supermoto i have ever seen .. stunning
imagine if @KTM or @yamahaMotorGlobal collaborated ´n´ launched this SM + futuristic LWT DS ´n´ ADV Rally for riders to invest in
Great build, Jamie was so excited it even stalled on him! And he is a legendary rider!
I like how he positioned the radiators so the make the bike slimmer, manufacturers should take note, truly a wonderful motorcycle.
one minute in and I was going to have a rant about 'Hipsters' - I take it all back - a real bike builder making good stuff, what a great fun bike . Also as usual fantastic cinematography by Jamie - a quality production all round - well done everyone !
One of my favorite builds of the year! Take it to the canyons next time!
Of all time! Light is right!! exactly what mc cmty been asking for + LWT low-tech affordable 450-650cc Dual Sport/ADV models
The motorcycle cmty takes inspiration from hot road culture ´n´develops models due to non existing low tech affordable LWT models
Seen his work before. F'n awesome builder and artist. 150lbs off the KTM??? Man o man...
Another MotoGeo video, another smile on my face !!!

There's only one thing I like more than Max Hazan's creations, and that is Motogeo and Jamie ripping on it
You should honestly pitch this idea to Husqvarna or KTM. I really like it a lot. That is the perfect down town bike.
just get a 950 or 990 SM if you want a road-legal version with an actual tank. Technically this bike really isnt much different from the bike its based on, same suspension, frame, brakes and engine. Just different seat, (oil)tank, radiators and plastics with some minor technical details (brake master cylinder etc...) yeah it looks slick but i doubt it rides very different to my 950 SMR.
pitch what idea? The thing was already a supermoto when KTM made it, just heavy and ugly. All the guy did was make it look nicer and lighter.
@@elobiretv he did alot more than that.
@@2ane Right the bike that weighs 150lbs less handles the same as yours.
@@austen2382 there is no way this is 150 lbs lighter than a 950 SM unless you count fuel.
I’ve had the privilege of meeting Jaime, and I’ve spent a day at Max’s shop, so this one made me really happy.
That SMR is a weapon. So hope that KTM pop the 790 engine in a supermoto frame....
Mikelikesbikes they already did.

Husqavarna makes a 700
Ducati made an 1100 hypermoto evo sp

Paul Colburn the smc 690 is a single cylinder which makes like 40 horsepower less than the inline 2 in the 790 duke. So no they haven't done it.
Mikelikesbikes and what do expect from such combination?
Paul Colburn, I'm afraid you don't appear to know anything about supermoto or indeed engine configurations.

Do you miss the short interval maintenance periods? It's a great bike, but it's a full racing engine..
yeah I don't miss that at all... Looking forward to my Alta SMR :)

As the owner of a Husqvarna Nuda 900R, this build speaks to me on so many levels!
the best looking and best sounding supermoto hands down
Amaaazing video !! (and I rarely comment) Great bike, great test rider! good luck to you, and the builder
Super clean. My 990 Adventure Baja could definitely stand to lose 150lbs, but it's still surprisingly agile for a buffalo.
Now this is my type of bike......Hats off to Max Hazan for creating a beautiful masterpiece. I wonder if Max has thought about selling the blueprint for this monster. :)
Instant subscribe from me. This is epic. Great episode - hopefully you can make it up to SF / Bay area !
The side facing radiators work well because supermotos are sideways 75% of thw time...
No really.. Why ???
The only stock motorcycle that I know used sideways rad is the benelli cafe racer and the tnt 899

LJ Prince honda vfr 750, honda firestorm/superhawk. It makes the wheelbase shorter.

You can run a steeper rake because the radiator isn't in the way. I guess.
That's the most beatifull beast of a supermoto I've ever seen!
That's beats! I need this bike in my life.
Agreed
jamie just got back to the uk from my trip to corsica all i can say is wow you have just got to go there and do a blog its amazing.
My 950 so needs to lose weight I did love this set up great work fella

Super nice build. I hope you bought the guy a new rear tire.
That motorcycle is practically a Nuda 1001 if they ever made one today. Absolutely beautiful
