I do wish....just for some visual symbolism, the beers at the end were different. Olivers should've been empty, signaling that his time was up in this Arrowverse. Barry still has the remains, last few gulps, as he still has one final arc to complete.

Holy Hot Damn, this episode was amazing. It just did so many things right. It gave us Oliver. It gave us Wally. It officially gave us the Multiverse back. It was creepy, funny and awesome all rolled into one. Also, can I just say that I love Sendhil Ramamurthy as Rassmey Rosso/Bloodwork. Everytime he get on screen, he chews up the scenery. You know what - Nora after being killed will then meet season 1’s Flash and then Will understand that who she met that day was her son saying his farewells to her ! Incredible episode! Full circle
This was the first flash episode I watched since season 6. I've been out of the arrowverse for a while. But seeing this made me want to go watch early seasons of Flash, Arrow, and Legends. I have so much nostalgia for those seasons, they came out when I was in high school.
Stephen Amell had actually wanted to come back since the moment he left Arrow. When Covid hit he immediately called Greg Berlanti and said "I'm in Vancouver, if you can't get any shows up, let's do Arrow Season 9". I'm glad he finally got to come back though, this was the best way possible!
Not only the best episode in years, but one of the best episodes of the show. I too have missed this feeling, takes me back to a truly great time when Oliver & Barry were it, felt like a proper ending for Arrow as well. I was losing the will to live with this final season until this. Stephen Amell you have saved this season!
The part where Wally has the flash back to him saying Brother sister crime fighting unit, im that was actually a scene that took place in the flashpoint timeline back in 3x01, I guess he could remember it cause the Philosophers stone gave people their flashpoint memories back
They decided to announce that Oliver was gonna be back because of that fight scene. Two days shooting that in the middle of the city. They knew the paparazzis would give that spoiler anyway.
I really loved this episode the final fight against ramsey was a little disappointing wish we got a full on fight with barry, wally, diggle, oliver but that is a minor gripe still a solid and emotional episode perfect way to say goodbye to wally, oliver, and diggle
@@IsaacOfficialYT all a writer does is essentially create a base plot. not every scene, word, or sequence bit by bit. once the base plot of the episode is made, the director uses their creativity to change and adjust sequence of scenes, camera angles, and the tones of each scene. so how good the episode is really how the director uses their creativity. the writer doesnt do anything special with how great a episode looks or how good the tones are. so yes, because it wasnt eric wallace, it was great, not cringey all the way, and good action and serious tones at the right times. there is a reason why a writer is just a writer and not also a director in general instances. directors can make anything great. however a writer can only go so far in scene play. eric wallace just doesnt make good directing anymore.

Fun Fact: The duo who wrote this episode (Sam Chalsen & Emily Palizzi), while they've done other episodes seperately the last ( and only) other time they've been credited together was Wally's last major return episode: 6x14. Also Sam seems to be the one to always write episodes involving other Arrowverse shows, his frist credit after Wallace took over as showrunner was the first Flash episode after Crisis, with Diggle, and his solo credit episodes include Armageddon Part 3 and Eobard's return in S8 which connected with Legends
It feels good to be excited watching The Flash again. I found Blindwave through The Flash during the start of Season 2. Gonna be strange when it's all over.
This reaction is so pure I love it lol the genuine shock of seeing Oliver was GREAT!!! PS this episode is how all the episodes of this season finale should have been! Ha what said this in a while but….Can’t wait for what’s next!
This was indeed the most amazing episode of Season 9. It’s so great to see Oliver Queen and John Diggle again, they finally got to say goodbye after not being able to in Crisis. Thank you Oliver Queen, you have saved this city.
33:39 King Shark was only cured temporarily before he had to permanently transform back to fight Grodd 44:48 it's not weird when you realize Eric Wallace has it in for Candice Patton the way Marc Guggenheim had it in for Katie Cassidy. The way the showrunners handle the actresses' respective storylines speak for themselves.
The final dialogue in the bar reminded me of the very first time Barry reached to Oliver as the Flash on a rooftop in Star City, like 9+ years ago! Btw what an amazing performance by Stephen Amell, I'd watch him and Grant interacting for a season straight just talking.
This was truly one of the best episodes in SO LONG and best episode of the season, I really hope the rest of the season is like this episode, this episode really brought back that flash nerdyness and excitement out of me, D Panabaker did an Incredible job with this, I don’t care what anyone says about the episode, I loved it.
When Oliver at the end of the episode gave Barry the talk about bringing hope and that “the lightning bolt chose him so don’t ever forget that” I think that’s the most on the nose way of saying they’re gonna wrap up the flash with Barry sacrificing himself or some of his speed to become the lightning bolt in the s1 pilot that hit him to give him powers and makes everything full circle…
Grant has confirmed that they’re not doing that. It’s probably implying that when Oliver says that with his glowing eyes either Oliver with his power personally saw to it that the bolt hit Barry or He sees all and he saw that Barry was destined to get struck by lightning
12:58 Aaron: "Presence?" Melanie: "Oliver?" No, remember Oliver is the Spectre. He "works" for The Presence. We haven't met him, and I doubt we will. But we met his son, Lucifer. I say this in jest, of course. I'm never one to pass up on wordplay and puns, lol
This episode was genuinely amazing. It felt much more high quality, you can tell they put their focus into the last few episodes. The fight scene with Oliver had me so hyped, made me remember just how amazing those scenes were in Arrow. So many great scenes!
On the topic of excitement via surprise or announcement, I do agree that it's better to be surprised by someone coming into the episode organically, like you all experienced here with Stephen Amell. However, it's more exciting knowing ahead of time than finding out by seeing the name in the opening credits. At least if you know ahead, you can have that anticipation and excitement over time as you wait for the episode to come out. If you manage to go unspoiled of the appearance up until you watch the episode and then you see the name in the credits 20 minutes before they actually show up, that's just disappointing that you were so close to a surprise only to have the credits ruin it for you.
I LOVE that what Oli said was what he told him on that roof all those years ago. I cried and laughed this whole episode bro… ughhh I try to give up sometimes but the flash wheels me back in hard at other times
I understand that it's not their fault that they were not allowed to make Diggle a Green Lantern, but I really wish they would have just never brought up the box whenever he came back and try to write around it. Where they could hint that he is doing secret Green Lantern missions but whenever he was on earth he could only be Spartan because he was doing some kind of deep cover mission or something. I mean really, a box with a green lantern ring was sent to tempt him and drive him away from his family on and off for 3 years just so that he could realize his family was important? Diggle already knew that he was moving to metropolis to support Laylas job so that he could take care of the kids and maybe help her on the side. It felt like such a forced cop out. The only other complaint I have about this episode is they could have just cut down the other characters besides Barry, Diggle, Wally, Oliver and Ramsay down to the bare minimum and been glorified extras. We didn't need any Chester Allegra scenes. Barry and Oliver's relationship is so special, because you can tell that Amell and Gustin has such a great relationship. From day one he was so supporting of Grant and the pilot episode of Flash that he actually spoke up and said it was disrespectful of WB to announce the Flash movie on the same day that the pilot officially aired (since it had leaked 5 months early). It's a real big brother, little brother connection that they have even though they don't get to see each other all that much.
David Ramsey himself said that plans changed after the pandemic, and his original show visits were supposed to be more connected. My best guess is that the original plan pitched was to have the next annaul crossover event, to follow up on Crisis, was going to be a 4 night event of Diggle going to the other shows in a semi-connected plot, so the contracted David for one episode of each show. Then after COVID, things had to be changed but he was still contracted to do all the shows. The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace has also said that if The Flash had continued, he was planning to lead to a major Green Lantern based story in the future, but not to be
@@Disney15ish What Ramsay said I would believe but not Wallace, just like he said that he wanted to tell a justice league story and that he would have given Legends a backdoor series finale. If that was really true why not do that in series 9 instead of the terrible episodes that we have gotten. I understand the function of a bottle episode like they did in the last episode, and Barry was bound to have to be in a groundhogsday episode since every arrowverse show has had one, and the one Flash had Grant was on break because of he crossover so Nora was the main character in that episode. And it also functioned as a bottle episode since the only other place they use was the set he kept getting killed in by Captain Boomerang. But when Arrow did their bottle episode in season 5, it was completely character focused. Their groundhogs day episode in season 8 was the best groundhogsday episode in the entire Arrowverse. Not to say Arrow's run was flawless, Damian did not fit Arrow, Diaz was a very poor attempt at trying to have their Bane the way Adrian was their version of the Joker. The problem with Flash is you can tell the actors are bored because the material they are given has gone backwards. Yes, Legends was a weird show because it started very serious and then somehow became a show for stoners. But originally it was set up to be an anthology show that would follow new characters each season since they knew that they would not get Arthur Darvill to sign on for 7 seasons. However it was done because the show was struggling in the ratings and they figured they would have to retool or cancel the show. Flash was fine, in fact it was great a show that yes you could watch with your kids. But just like the best animated shows or movies are made for adults to enjoy as well. I feel like the early seasons of Flash was written for the 18-35 year old male demographic that CW had been eagerly hoping to get. Then slowly it got written for younger and younger audiences. Wallaces idea of splitting it into two arcs was a good one but everything after Crisis was a struggle, in fact the best character in season 6 was Ralph. I actually hated Ralph and hoped he would leave after season 4, but he stuck around, and I got used to him being there in season 5. Ended up loving him in season 6, only to not only ruin the man's career for decade old tweets. He ruined the character in the process as a big middle finger to the fans. When he should have been the easiest character to recast if he could not be adult enough to forgive 10 year old tweets. And since then it just feels like he's gotten greedy because as the creator he gets paid extra for Chester and Allegra. Which would have been fine if he had given them the same attention and care he put into making Ralph not only a good character like he was in season 5 but a better character with a more interesting story than Barry had going in season 6. Sorry for the rant as you can tell, I'm frustrated that a show I once loved to the point that I needed to watch every new episode when it came out right away has been ruined. It's not just Wallace, I was really mad that they brought in Choi to be the Paragon of humanity. When if there is one person in the entire arrowverse that deserves that title it was Diggle. Crisis actually frustrated me so much that when I was in the hospital I wrote a 20 page rewrite draft. And not counting Superman & Lois everything that came after have felt like everyone is just there to collect a payback. And I don't think that gives Wallace the excuse to continue making bad decision after bad decision. He could have course corrected at any point. Watching this final season should not feel like pulling teeth it should feel like a victory lap. When you hear stories about the crews who have been working on these shows since Smallville to the present day. Admitting that they thought that they were done until the Superman & Lois writers actually breathed new life into the moral. It's clear the problem is you have people who are the the top making certain decision that don't care as much as the others.
@@dcworld4349 Wallace said that he had a plan for 40 episodes spanning S9+10 that would lead to a major epic 200th episode, which that plan for the 200th has now been adapted into this series finale this year (which according to his Twitter account, is the last 4 episodes is a big 4 part series finale) . The Diggle ending in S8 was made because they didn't know they were having a S9 at the time, and where the only ones that could close that arc just in case Sadly, I can also understand why the Legends return couldn't work in a short season (technically only 9 episodes, since the last 4 are one major story): Could he have hypothetically made his 2-part Legends episode, or make that be the opening arc insted? Yes, but the issue arises that Legends has a HUGE ensemble cast, and bringing all the characters back would be 8 cast members added to the already criticized ensemble on The Flash. Bringing in 8 cast members, while also paying the series regulars would be really financially expensive, especially with I've heard some places say that the budget was extremely slashed for this final season, so I'm guessing they wanted to save all their budget to make this Arrow return and the 4 part finale as good as it can be, with budget restaints. I'm guessing in his point of view, he didn't want to bring the Legends in if they would end up screwing it up because of season limitations. Would you rather have the sad unresolved ending, or a bad looking return due to budget restraints?
@@Disney15ish The guy who plays superboy on Superman & Lois is friends with someone that in addition to other things has a podcast channel and did an interview for him. And he told his friend that Flash and Superman & Lois has the same budget it all comes down to how it gets spent. Yes of course with how they have done the season they could not do legends. What I am saying is they could have removed the first two episodes, and episode 8 since the red death arc really was just 2 and a half episodes. Right there you would have time and money, and you wouldn't need to do anything too crazy, repurpose one of the sets that they have re used multiple times in the past. Have Barry in the start of the episode spring them all out of prison and depending on what they could afford, have the stakes of the frame up be big or small. And not use the wave rider at all if that set has been destroyed. Easy fix right there since you wouldn't need to have any powers on display besides Barry speeding them out of prison. If the problem was money related, but even the bottle episode had more effect than what should have been needed. It would actually have been better if the episode didn't have any villan stakes. Talking of the bottle episode. Wouldn't it have been more interesting if these people were actually curious about Star Labs, had some suspicions finds out what it is without being told because they put two and two together. And promises to keep it secret because they in fact respect the work they are doing. Going so far was to promise to help them in the future should anything happen that requires inspection, they now have people to call.

Green arrow throwing hands…and the arrow music…memories unlocked
Stephen Amell had actually wanted to come back since the moment he left Arrow. When Covid hit he immediately called Greg Berlanti and said "I'm in Vancouver, if you can't get any shows up, let's do Arrow Season 9". I'm glad he finally got to come back though, this was the best way possible!
Wait did he actually say that??
@@hxnaldo yes
It’s was on Michael Rosenbaum podcast
Not only the best episode in years, but one of the best episodes of the show. I too have missed this feeling, takes me back to a truly great time when Oliver & Barry were it, felt like a proper ending for Arrow as well. I was losing the will to live with this final season until this. Stephen Amell you have saved this season!
The part where Wally has the flash back to him saying Brother sister crime fighting unit, im that was actually a scene that took place in the flashpoint timeline back in 3x01, I guess he could remember it cause the Philosophers stone gave people their flashpoint memories back
Aaron’s reaction of pure excitement at 12:25 is the best thing ever🤣 just shows how we all felt seeing Oliver back
They decided to announce that Oliver was gonna be back because of that fight scene. Two days shooting that in the middle of the city. They knew the paparazzis would give that spoiler anyway.
Fun fact: This is the highest rated episode on IMDB since season 6 😂😭
Really? The speed thinking episode in 7 was great.
@@flaggerify yeah the first like 7 episodes of season 7 was good
I really loved this episode the final fight against ramsey was a little disappointing wish we got a full on fight with barry, wally, diggle, oliver but that is a minor gripe still a solid and emotional episode perfect way to say goodbye to wally, oliver, and diggle
Oliver fighting an entire SWAT team made up for the lack of a group fight for me.
Man seeing Oliver and hearing his theme one last time filled my heart with joy and happiness
"How many other Flashes were there?"
Well, there was one that kept getting arrested.
This just proves that they have the ability to make good episodes still
😂 I love how much everyone completely geeks out when Oliver arrived 😅 10:44
No wonder this episode was amazing, it wasn’t directed by Eric Wallace 😂 Danielle Panabaker knows what the fans want! 🎉
a director doesnt decide what happens in the episode
@@generaldemonichi7301 what have you directed you seem to be talking from experience and not knowledge you acquired online reading articles
@@calabro9092 its called Deez. Google it. The literal definitions of every site u see is what i said. Its not a matter of opinion or experience or skills in order to properly explain this fact. Its a matter of what they literally are and you cant argue otherwise.
You know that Danielle made other episodes that were absolutely terrible right?
Bloodwork is the best villain in seasons, absolutely agree on that.
Stephen Amell has such a great screen presence. The moment he shows up everything feels bigger.
anyone else wanna rewatch arrow now
This reaction is so pure I love it lol the genuine shock of seeing Oliver was GREAT!!!
PS this episode is how all the episodes of this season finale should have been! Ha what said this in a while but….Can’t wait for what’s next!
And episode 10 was good, the rest were… not as trash as the earlier parts of the season but kinda trash.
This was indeed the most amazing episode of Season 9. It’s so great to see Oliver Queen and John Diggle again, they finally got to say goodbye after not being able to in Crisis.
Thank you Oliver Queen, you have saved this city.
Loved the reactions, especially Melanie crying was so sweet. Plus they finally mentioned Caitlin 😊
33:39 King Shark was only cured temporarily before he had to permanently transform back to fight Grodd
44:48 it's not weird when you realize Eric Wallace has it in for Candice Patton the way Marc Guggenheim had it in for Katie Cassidy. The way the showrunners handle the actresses' respective storylines speak for themselves.
Based on this episode and the trailer for next week’s… I think we’re in for a hell of a ride to the end
This episode is pure fan service. And I’m not mad. I watched this and the Superman and Lois episode back to back. I was an emotional wreck.
It was awesome to have VENOM do a cameo in this episode!!
OMG I can't tell you how much I miss those Arrow fight scenes! Bout time for an Arrow rewatch again.
The editor is doing gods work.
All it was is a call back to there first meeting as super hero’s smh 🤦♂️ no he will not be lightning that’s dumb
Ollie as the specter straight from the source material I loved it.
The jump in quality is astounding to me, and it makes wonder why it wasn't like this the whole season.
Fun fact: this episode was directed by Danielle Panabaker! The last episode she directed for the series and it was great!
And the first good one she directed since 5x18
This episode shows how much we really miss Oliver
12:58 Aaron: "Presence?"
Melanie: "Oliver?"
No, remember Oliver is the Spectre. He "works" for The Presence. We haven't met him, and I doubt we will. But we met his son, Lucifer. I say this in jest, of course. I'm never one to pass up on wordplay and puns, lol
What an episode to randomly decide to watch with yall after not seeing many seasons
Love them talking about the Legends season 2 premiere as if Melanie wasn’t there lol
I love when Stephen came back every line is saying is like to the heart come through and whose listen this line they can tear up.
23:39 "Rest of the season SUCKED and THAT was AMAZING!" (pen drop)
I try to enjoy season 9 but after this episode I agree with Eric 😂
13:50, We are all Melanie....Gotta love Aaron.
The music in Oliver's sacrifice speech really lifted the scene.
This episode was genuinely amazing. It felt much more high quality, you can tell they put their focus into the last few episodes. The fight scene with Oliver had me so hyped, made me remember just how amazing those scenes were in Arrow. So many great scenes!
You read my pun during the poll about it being holy or unholy so my life is complete now!
“No no I’m not gonna boop you 🤜 ” 😂
Bloodwork is one of my favorites of the show and I'm so glad they didn't forget about him
23:39 speaking the truth haha
This episode was incredible even before Oliver showed up, I needed this after season 7, 8, and the beginning of season 9.
I LOVE that what Oli said was what he told him on that roof all those years ago. I cried and laughed this whole episode bro… ughhh I try to give up sometimes but the flash wheels me back in hard at other times
I was suprised as much as you were! I didn't hear any spoilers regarding this season!
The Moment: @10:47
I think this is when the flash is getting better
This Reaction was Amazing
Amazing And glad that you've managed to avoid and kept this spoiler free.
glad you guys loved this episode.
This was a great episode and your reactions mirrored mine. Hopefully the season finishes like this.
The Diggle ending in S8 was made because they didn't know they were having a S9 at the time, and where the only ones that could close that arc just in case
Sadly, I can also understand why the Legends return couldn't work in a short season (technically only 9 episodes, since the last 4 are one major story):
Could he have hypothetically made his 2-part Legends episode, or make that be the opening arc insted?
Going so far was to promise to help them in the future should anything happen that requires inspection, they now have people to call.
yea ive stopped watching teasers for a lot of stuff to get more surprises, and its been great
"The light chose Barry"....I guess we know what's coming! Barry becoming the lighting that struck him to make him the Flash... just like in comics!
I’ve been watching Blindwave since season 1 of the flash! I love this channel you guys are awesome 😎 best reactions and Eric and Erin make an awesome duo
So glad they didn't know Amell coming back for the final season.
The white lightning reminded me of Wally West in the comics
16:55 "I miss Arrow... even Season 4" LMAO
6 was worse with the civil war nonsense.
I don't watch spoiler channels and I always try to do my best to avoid spoilers on the internet. When the previous episode ended 3 weeks ago, they immediately showed: "Next time on The Flash - Hey look! Oliver Queen is back!" I wish I had not seen that 3 weeks ago. But even if I had not, Stephen Amell's name in the credits at the beginning would have spoiled it 30 mins before he shows up in the episode. I agree, spoilers like that are so stupid. I never watch trailers of things I know I am going to watch.
the Oliver vs Zombies fight felt like something out of the 28 Days Later franchise
10:52. Im in luv with the fact that Eric turned into one of those 'french girls' that Jack draws...
Half smitten and wholly seduced.
Jk, i had an almost even mix of Eric and Aarons reaction. Been so long since i first heard he was coming back, i had completely forgotten.
Yeah this and ep 10 are the best of this season

“Dun Dun Dun Dun AARON!”
Only real 👆 Arrow & Blind Wave fans will know 🥲🏹 SO good to see Oliver again!
This is a great premiere for this 5 episode season of the flash
Saw the Oliver return with you guys for the first time reacted about the same.
when I saw Stephen amell again I tried not to scream at 2am cos ahhh my mannn and he was so epicc. just meant a lot to me to see him and grant together
This whole.episode was amazing. It made me emotional. I saw digg and went omg if he has a scene with oliver I will lose it. And yes 😭😭😭 the feels. I loved every minute of this!❤
Also I love Eric, his comment about the cw hahah yep I have know about stephan for a while now because of a promo still. Very dumb marketing if you ask me. I usually am spoiler free but this was all over youtube the image.
Mostly because of you all, I decided not to watch trailers and promo's anymore. It is so much better this way👍
i read that stephen amell asked for oliver to use his green arrow outfit instead of the Spectre one ;)
...Melanie was in that reaction. So I doubt Aaron raced home to tell her that the Reverse Flash was in LoT
LOL
I'm guessing she might have be thinking more recently when the Reverse Flash returned in the last season, which that one was luckily not announced ahead of time at all.
Also hearing Oliver re-say his first speech to Barry from season 1 of the flash hit me in the soul
Eric: “I miss Arrow. Even season 4..” 😂 right??? No offense to the flash but Arrow hit different. The superior show top to bottom
Flash had a stronger start than arrow but now it’s just getting sad lol.
Another comment I saw said that Stephen Amell was offered to come back for more then 1 episode but said yes to only 1 due to it being The Flash and didn't want all the attention on him being back.
No idea if it is true, just what I heard from another comment.
