- Ellen 'Grandma Walton' Corby enjoying a cigarette* to Burt Reynolds' far right side during his tribute at the 1985 NBC All Star Party For "Dutch" Reagan the 40th President. The tv special starred an all-star cast of celebrities including Monty Hall, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and was directed by Dick McDonough.
It was written by Paul W. Keyes.
*In recent decades it is a rare sight indeed, to see a celebrity smoking at any function. (This NBC airing took place nearly a decade after Corby suffered a terrible stroke during her 'The Waltons' tv run)

I didn''t see Ellen Corby in this clip; but, have you seen her sing I am a Woman. She was on Dale Evans' and Roy Rogers' variety show and I remember her spelling out W-O-M-A-N. Maybe that's the name of the song; but, I'm not sure.
As indicated in my Description details, she is to the far right of Reynolds. She is visible multiple times and smoking a cigarette. She can also be seen in the video thumbnail. I have never heard her sing, but I will look for that definitely. Thanks

Yes, that comic take on the I am Woman song was done by Irene Ryan at the height of her Beverly Hillbillies Granny Clampett fame. Very funny. Ellen Corby is on the left side of the screen in this clip. I enjoyed watching her light up, seemingly oblivious to Burt’s speech! She played a wonderfully horrible mother to psychotic Victor Buono in a great little film called The Strangler. BTW, at the very end of the above video, during the applause, did we see Merv Griffin sitting next to Dusty Springfield? Thanks in advance to any hawkeyes who can let me know!
