I like that "Mister" Alex Trebek introduction. This was the same time announcer Johnny Gilbert was working "Dream House" over at NBC and I remember he'd introduce that host, Bob Eubanks as "Mister" Bob Eubanks.
They've done things like this for a number of game show pilots. I guess they want to give a network or certain stations an idea of what a typical episode might look like so they can sell the show for them to broadcast.
Game show pilots, or at least nearly all of them since the dawn of time have done stuff like this to sell to the networks and independent stations to generate interest to gauge how they’ll do once they’re given the green light to become a regular series to air.

They did a pilot in September 1983, and Jack won that match. That’s how we have Jack (right podium 3), originally we had another female contestant. Won’t say because I’ll probably get cancelled, but she lost and was replaced with Jack in this episode. But, person on the left (podium 1) never returned on the first episode of Jeopardy! On 9/10/1984, about 8 months after this airing.
Just for concept's sake, what would actually happen in the show should it be picked up for airing. (Of course, we already know what happened in Jeopardy's case. ;) )
funny how they didn’t have the barriers during the FJ round lol
RIP Alex.
The 'round's over' sound effect sounds like the theme from Psycho. Thank the Sun it was changed to the beeps.
The first Jeopardy! episode, hosted by Art Fleming, aired on March 30, 1964, during the day on NBC,
Jeopardy originated on March 30, 1964. Art Fleming was the host.
I was in love at 15. A game show without stupidity.
Boy, that audience would clap at ANYTHING!

He did the same for Richard Dawson when he substituted for Gene Wood on Family Feud.
And Dick Clark on the Pyramid
I really like this rendition of the Jeopardy theme
22:07 cliff you’re not looking over to see what Agnes is writing down are you?
How can it be the pilot when the champ already has two wins? 🤔
Pilots did/do this often to illustrate how the show would play out if picked up. No real champions.
@ajk Your guess is as good as mine.
I like that they gave the champion the surname of Campion.

"Williams Jennings Bryant" is not the same as "William Jennings Bryan".
Hey, this is kinda' cool. It looks just like Season 1...
1:26. Holy crow. Did they produce that noise by crushing a synthesizer?
Sounds like the theme from Psycho played on a car horn. It sounds awful.
Good job.
Added to Buzzr Lost n Found soon.

No it isn't and no it will not. It is owned by Sony and not a Fremantle product
@@jimlange944 Well I located the tape since it was recorded directly from VCR, so technically the video is mine although Sony had taped Jeopardy.
@@southbend-chicago.railfan My comment wasn't directed at you. It was in response to the original comment
46 correct responses.
7:05 Not much, what’s up with you?
Fascinating!

Always loved Alex as a host from when I was a real little kid he was the host of High Rollers, Concentration to Jeopardy.
We love you
Fleming's version is better.
I was really smart in 1984. 😁
Jeopardy had a lot of human side, that made it so much fun. That , of course, was before the woke period.
How can bro be a returning champion if it's the first episode?
They did a pilot in 1983, and the champion returned. However, one character was replaced with Jack I believe for unknown reasons.
