I got absolute a week ago. Both are so different and so good that I can't decide which I like more. Absolute is lighter so it can be used in more situations but it lasts very little. Bentley intense lasts forever and is darker and more boozy.
I have the Intense version and while it not be for everyone I absolutely adore it!. It is strong and to my nose you end up with a beautiful oriental, incense dry down. Possibly my favorite fragrance atm!
The Intro was a CLASSIC and I was completely lost but enjoyed it. Died laughing with the you had no clue part. Happy you kept it and bought the Bentley absolute
I am 45 years old and I thank you Sir for introducing me to Bentley for Men Intense! I am in love with this scent. I find it to be warm and somehow creamy. It’s complex but smooth, that’s it, very smooth and boozy! A nice mellow rum and vanilla. My daughters who are 11 and 9 love the scent on me. My wife says it’s warm and manly on me. For a mature, successful, very confident alpha male type of man. Not for kids. Younger men in their 20’s with an “old soul” mature personality rocking business like suits can use this. I am grateful for your review of this fragrance!!
@@Sir_P/videos It has a somewhat heavy cedar scent and a musky frankincense note. I like it but that's because I like heavy and unique fragrances, but I wouldn't say it's the mass-appealing variety. It's certainly better than many generic ones out there, but it may not very versatile due to it's dark characteristics. I haven't tried Bentley for Men or Bentley Intense, but I would probably go for either of those instead based on the positive reviews (Joy Amin did a review of the 10 underrated Designer Fragrances very recently - Bentley Men is said to be the most versatile of the two).
My Bentley Intense Eud De Parfum arrived yesterday and its absolute=ly beautiful, such an expensive smelling long lasting frag of leather, rum, tobacco and other deeply enchanting spices. It has easily landed on my top shelf as one of the best and one to own. Now...what about the Absolute? Maybe...maybe not...so undecided here whether to add it to the collection. 🤔✨ Dammit I have so many frags already..how many can a man have? 😜
I have and like both. I wear the intense to please others, and I wear the absolute to please myself. The absolute reminds me of (smells exactly like) a wood shop I got shaving from when I was a kid. Great fragrances.
Michel Almairac was the perfumer for Absolute. Nathalie Lorson did Intense. While I love them both, I rarely find a reason or an occasion to wear Bentley Intense. Some say it's mainly for winter, but I just can't seem to find the right scenario for it. Maybe dressed up, or a special occasion.
I’m on a similar boat. I like to smell it, but I don’t want to smell like it. The scent is enjoyable and you can really tell how deep and complex it is. I guess it’s all about the experience for me.
I agree with another comment. You just use less juice. Tone it down. No need to go crazy on the sprays with a powerful scent. The fragrance either smells nice or it doesn't. Hard to understand some of the reasons given by Fragrance hoarders to not use a scent. Oh well. I've got a bottle of Intense on the way and I'm sure I'll Absolutely use it whenever I want. Stay strong!
Lovely in depth descriptions Dan. Absolu is definitely my number 1 number 3 in the Bentley PH line of 3, ahead of Bentley, which is number 1 but not number 1. Intense has to be number 2, but doesn't smell like Gucci number 1. That's Absolu. Number 1, number 2 flanker of 3. Maybe 4. 100%.
great review mate, I am tempted to buy the Bentley for man absolute? thanks for sharing. I am a new subscriber from UK? enjoining your video & keep it coming
Both great for wearing in a smoky old bar (If they allowed them anymore) Lots of leather and booze and suitable for 40 plus only. It's definitely in your face on opening and still great 4 hours later. It's a bit too sweet for me though as I'm old school.
Going to test Absolute based on this review so thanks. Not considered it so far because I also agree that my Intense, which I thoroughly enjoy, is limited in where it's appropriate to wear. Not as versatile as some. Having said that, half of the buggers in Walsall Town centre don't know what regular application of soap and hot water is so I have been known to wear it just to scut around the shops in jeans.
Great summary, thanks for the insight and education MrS!! Agree, Bentley Intense is a fragrance which is not versatile but nice nonetheless. PS. Love your sense of humour 👍
The first 60 seconds was cmic genius....Absolutely...LOL However you recovered you shared some excellent information. I'll think I will go with batchelorette No 1. Thank you for your production!
So... Does "absolute" mean that it ABSOLUTELY smells like someone dumped out the pencil sharpener into the rabbit hutch, after spilling about half a shot of rum? I waited for a few years to pull the trigger on the Intense, because I'm pretty leery of any "new" or modern fragrances. I love the "classic" stuff... Unfortunately because of reformation and cheapening up on ingredients, most of the old timers just ain't what they once were. But because I've heard so many great things about Bentley Intense, I went ahead and ordered it. I couldn't wait to get it! When it finally arrived, I was like a kid at Christmas... Until I sprayed it. I was ecstatic at the rum note until it absolutely disappeared in about ten minutes. Mid drydown was nothing but incredibly pungent bay and patchouli... Which stuck around for the final drydown, but had just a faint vanilla and iris on top. It turned into a weak skin scent within about three hours, and is completely gone on me within six. I didn't get any leather, incense or cinnamon ANYWHERE in the composition. And that's funny to me, considering that I've been a real fragrance junky for the last forty years. I may have just gotten my hands on a lousy bottle... But what a turn off.
I love the dry british humor in your videos. You always bring a smile to my face with your videos. Unfortunately none of those fragrances does the same. I just cant stand the overwhelming rum in Bentley Intense, but it's really interresting to see your take on it. Great video.
The Bentley Intense has a great smell....Yes it will be strong if you spray two or three generous sprays .......But if you go light on the trigger...you can balance it very well and you will get compliments. Bentley Intense was made to be worn and not stowed away in the scared to wear box. The perfumer was confident of this when she blended the juice It works very well with smart casual ....as well as a suit.....The opening maybe "in your face.....but the dry down is not ( unless of course you over spray).
I might be alone on this one. I love the scent and I love smelling it, but I don’t want to smell like it. I enjoy the whole experience due to its quality and complexity.
Thanks. I purchased the intense before I purchased it online. Then, I checked your video and cancelled the order right away in time. Thanks again. By the way, the tie is nice.
I have both and the 2 fragrances are completely different. Encre noire is more wearable than Bentley Intense. By more wearable I mean more versatile. Mr Smelly gave an excellent description of how and when you can wear Bentley Intense and I 200% agree. I own the 3 Encre noire and I would recommend the Original.
I have Bentley for Men Intense, Black Edition and Absolute... Intense ia the most masculine, dark, smoky, mature. The most masculine of just about any brand i have tried. Lasts like a beast, projects like a rocket (seriously 😅). Not all room, but all hall is filled with the smell. Can be felt even in the open space outside. This is crazy, but amazing 💥. Absolute i like the least out of all 3 that i have. Black Edition is incredible, out of this world. It's a blue fragrance. Totaly contra of it's "dark" name. What to say, except... Imagine a hybrid between next fragrances: Versace Dylan Blue, Blue De Chanel, ADG Profondo, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau Intense and Bvlgari Aqva Atlantique. In only this one bottle you get the best of all the best blue fragrances. Get it without thinking 👌🏻.
Funny! Trying to make sense of the nomenclature aside, in this case, Intense is much more complex than Absolute. I own a bottle of I and a sample of A and A does smell very close to Gucci Pour Homme (I) in the drydown, and that really is it's glory. It's taken 2 years for Intense to really grow on me, but I finally get it. The vanilla, the incense, the bay leaf, it's really wonderful and the drydown lasts for ages on clothing.
Natalie lawson didn’t do absolute… she did Bentley intense… you explained correctly in the beginning but later on when talking about pencil sharpening… and woods, you mention is because Natalie worked on this…
I just got BFMI, and it rushes straight to the base on my skin. Under an hour after spraying, it’s all cedar, incense, and leather. SO MUCH CEDAR. I might give spraying it on my shirt a go in an attempt to hold on to the opening a bit. I don’t get any post-opening sweetness until it’s time to re-spray. I wish it were sweeter for me.
Hello MrSmelly! Well in my humble opinion. I believe Bentley should just stick with making cars. My nephew read a review that the Absolute version was really good. He blind bought it; big mistake. So he learned a very valuable lesson there. Even I tried it and I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy. To each their own I guess. Mr.Smelly I do really enjoy your videos as well. I did buy Lapidis and Jaipur. They both are very good fragrances and long lasting.
Lol!!!! Absolutely intensely lutley 😳 you got it...? I did!!! Anylutley ways I watched the entire review which is more than I can say for many review!!! Big up!!!
Choose this scent for my most recent exorcism. Think I made the right choice as the ritual lasted only two days. Will be my go to fragrance to keep Daemonicus in check...
Can't find anyone to compare Bentley Absolute against Le Labo Santal 33 (when 1st can out "hamster cage"). Note: never smelled Bentley nor Santal 33. I have Gucci ph i and hate it in the winter (peppered vanilla) just like I hate TF Oud Wood in the winter. Anyways, what's different between Santal 33 and Bentley, besides pickles/incense differences, are they both cedar shavings hamster/pencil to novice noses?
Nice review intro hilarious I own intense strange yes niche smell but hard to wear want to try absolute I own Encre Noire very hard to wear blind bought actually I don't get it
I intensely and absolutely approve of this video
Stupid
I absolutely loved your Intense intro or rather I intensely loved your absolute intro.
Ha ha thanks !
The introduction makes perfect sense. I absolutely love both of this two fragrances with much intensity.
About 50 seconds in I just burst out laughing 😂😂
Its a paradox
I was listening so attentively and realised damn what!!!
I literally did the same
🤷♂️🤦♂️
I got absolute a week ago. Both are so different and so good that I can't decide which I like more. Absolute is lighter so it can be used in more situations but it lasts very little. Bentley intense lasts forever and is darker and more boozy.
great answer 👍
I like them both. I'm going to layer both of them.😁
I have the Intense version and while it not be for everyone I absolutely adore it!. It is strong and to my nose you end up with a beautiful oriental, incense dry down. Possibly my favorite fragrance atm!
hahahaha man you are too awesome..lovely comparison video...own both love both
Thanks a lot Joy they are both winners for sure.
If you can have only one which one would you pick???
The Intro was a CLASSIC and I was completely lost but enjoyed it. Died laughing with the you had no clue part. Happy you kept it and bought the Bentley absolute
I absolutely did not understand what you just said, but at the same time, I am intensely thankful for this video.
Ahhh now I understand! Intense is an absolute improvement where Absolute is an intense improvement. So simple.
The one man known for cracking jokes in the most serious manner. The Mr Bean of fragrance - humorous yet inteliigent!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂he is british what u expect!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That begininning was brilliant! 😂👍
I can’t decide if you’d be a great James Bond or if you would play one of the Kemp brothers in a Spandau Ballet biopic. Love your channel!

MrSmelly always has the best advice, just buy both.
Thanks Sjaak.
Bought it (Absolute) - blind buy - waiting for it to arrive ... Thanks to you and Joy Amin's review - Bentley should buy you a car for this.
And?
How was it?

My god. This is why Mr Smelly is the GOAT! He makes me laugh effortlessly on every video. Never change!
Once you try intense you will absolutely want to buy the whole line
Steve H intense is incredible , just absolutely amazing. Paid 27 bucks for a cologne that’s better than many niche scents
Agreed. It takes a man of class to appreciate this line. Very nice!
I love Bentley intense .it's what I have been looking for . My signature scent 😍. I need to get another bottle
Thank you Dan for your great take on these. Much appreciated!

I picked up absolute. It's pretty solid fragrance and very dry and woody. Right up my alley.
You’re the man dude . Bentley intense is an absolute masterpiece . I Paid 27 bucks here in the US for a niche quality scent
Bentley Absolute way better in my opinion ❤
I’m absolutely confused with this intense video😭
I have and like both. I wear the intense to please others, and I wear the absolute to please myself. The absolute reminds me of (smells exactly like) a wood shop I got shaving from when I was a kid. Great fragrances.
This video was absolutely intense!

I agree that the Absolute contains vetiver. I also pick up cumin.
Absolute is an incredibly gorgeous scent and so underrated
great review mate, I am tempted to buy the Bentley for man absolute? thanks for sharing. I am a new subscriber from UK? enjoining your video & keep it coming
I want the Intense and I will get the Absolute later
Love both of these, Azure and Black Edition
3 years and i've barely put a dent in this but i love it so much xD like you said is one of those with not much versatility but such a wonderful scent
I've got both of them, they are really great scents for very reasonable price. Great review, I love your sense of humour.
which one has better performance?
Both great for wearing in a smoky old bar (If they allowed them anymore) Lots of leather and booze and suitable for 40 plus only. It's definitely in your face on opening and still great 4 hours later. It's a bit too sweet for me though as I'm old school.
They have done something to Bentley Intense. Longevity is poor from current batches. 3 hours tops.
True
WoW I never knew what intense meant. Likewise I never knew what absolute meant. Thanks for clearing that up 🤣
I'm having intense for Xmas ....thanks Danny boy
Merry Xmas to you and Claire
Going to test Absolute based on this review so thanks.

The fact that you can get these for less than $40 proves how much other brands overcharge us claiming it has quality ingredients which cost a lot! Bs
I have the intense and love it. Unfortunately I rarely find a suitable occasion to wear it and when I do, I more often grab for LaYuqawam.
wezzla me too :-)
I like Bentley Intense and wear it to work because my wife hates it. She thinks it's an old woman smell, and I couldn't disagree more with her.
colonicsymphonic I don’t think that you’re in the minority brotha. It seems that most men love the scent but most women hate it.
Really good pacing with the bit :D
I love that you use the word succinct!

How's the longevity mate?
@@dadekusumo1 I've gotten a good 8 hours from it. Absolutely love it.

Ok the intro had me questioning myself if I’m losing my mind 🤣🤣
Great video! THANK YOU, say, what about one spray of Intense to wear at work?
And what about intense and encre noir eXtreme??? Which one please??
I had a sample Encre Noir Extreme and I prefer Bentley Intense.

Thanks a lot Todd I really appreciate the support. The Absolute is well worth trying .
Love the video! Great job describing the differences between the two.
One more thing if I may, do not blind buy any of these without smelling and wearing them first! Just remember, i told you so!
I have Bentley for Men Intense, Black Edition and Absolute...

The explanation for the intense and absolute was hilarious 😂😂😂
great video. I wss recently trying to beside between these 2. This video was exactly whay I was looking for.
Congratulations on your review and on your particular skill on how you choose the subjects to review.

I feel like I need to put on a tuxedo everytime I spray Intense. Extraordinary scent.
Exactly! Blazer and slacks are a minimum for this scent!
is it only by my bottle or has someone the same problem: the metall area of the bottle seems very cheap. (intense)
I have both. I use absolute more and in day and intense by night in winter. Summer its a big NO NO
An eloquent and dandy Pom talking smellies. Loving it.
Choose this scent for my most recent exorcism. Think I made the right choice as the ritual lasted only two days. Will be my go to fragrance to keep Daemonicus in check...
"Not an f'ing clue". Ha, brilliant
The pencil shaving is in the Lalique White and not in any of the Encre Noires...
I mix em. Intense I spray 1 spray under my tshirt. and absolute on pulse points

Appreciate the absolute clarity!😉👍
Great video - very useful and practical!
I have the intense version and like it for winter, but the problem is the intense is $27 and the absolute is $100 here in the US :(
Perhaps California Cedar is one of the ingredients as it is commonly used in making pencils.
Nice review intro hilarious I own intense strange yes niche smell but hard to wear want to try absolute I own Encre Noire very hard to wear blind bought actually I don't get it
Oh my God! 😂😂😂 The first minute just made me like whaaaa 🤣🤣🤣
King of dry humor. Outstanding.
This video is funny, the Absolute is 99% GUCCI Pour Homme I my Michel Almairac. It has some similarity with men intense but they are different.
Absolutely funny beginning,very intense😂😂😂
so absolute is intensified absolutely and intense is absolutely intensified?
