- This original cast member was disappointed to not reprise his role. Omri Katz, who played teen rebel Max Dennison in the original movie, was surprised and disappointed to not be asked back for the sequel. His hope was to please the fan base and have all of the original trio of kids make cameos or have roles, but due to logistics of fitting them all in the story, none of them had roles. Katz said that he would have loved to be involved but unfortunately hadn’t been asked.

And then there’s me, wishing the sequel was not created… the actresses were great of course, but…they were supposed to be EVIL, not sympathetic with tragic backstories.
We can't have evil villains in the 2020s. They all have to be misunderstood and really good at heart people who made bad choices

The backstory is good. Winnifred wants her sisters. Just doesn’t show it or anything. But the ending, yeah. She should’ve just gone to Satan and demanded her servant sisters back.
But I like the younger Sanderson sisters and how they just casually burn a village house down and stuff
Disney screwed up, they should have made a continued story

@@boblangford5514that’s what I never understand when people get mad when classics get a sequel or a remake. If I don’t like the sequels or the remake. I just go back and enjoy the classic. I strongly dislike most Star Wars movies but I always have the first original two to enjoy.

I wish it would have been original cast like IT ..all grown up and there different stages in life with there kids….and Binx’s ghost helping or making an appearance…JUST SOMETHING that puts us back to the original …it just felt too Disney Series to me.. I was so disappointed 😔
Oh there's a million ways the three kids could have been in. I mean it's 29 years later. Would it really have been weird for him to have a teenage daughter himself?

This is how I wish they would've done a cameo. Have Max and Allison be at the carnival with a daughter, and they see the Sanderson Sisters walking, and they go, "No, no, no, no, no." And they run off, pulling their daughter with them.
Max and Allison should be asked back for the 3rd film
They could have fitted them in, like in the market scenes they could have had them running a random stall selling things or something simple like that.
You know one of the girls in the sequel could have been max or Dani daughter instead of having the mayor as a parent
I saw an interview where they said that they didn’t want to come back. Bette Midler and the other sisters wanted to but not the kids. At least that’s what I remember from the interview or something. I could be wrong
well it’s been confirmed they are going to do hocus-pocus 3 and Bette Midler instantly put her name down as soon as she heard about it!

@@LITTLEJETI doubt that, but if true, I hope they make the whole Hocus Pocus 2 a terrible dream sequence, and the witches are retching at the idea of being anything but evil. Y'know, because we literally saw them use vivamancy on a child till she died a drained husk. And it's kinda implied that they've done this before, so they've killed many people...

While we're on the subject, anyone else think it would be nice to see Max, Dani and Allison and what they did after the events of the first movie? I get that their actors look a lot different than they did then so it makes sense that they wouldn't make return appearances, I'm just saying it would have been nice.
Hopefully in the third movie.
Why do people hate this film _so much!?_ It's not "woke", nor are the Sanderson Sisters any more or less sympathetic than in the first film. The only thing the flashback showed was how they got their powers and Book, that Winnie was selfish, self-centred, and (by the standards of the time) _very_ rude. The film _also_ fleshed out Billy Butcherson, as well as the petty reasons for him being cursed.
As for the ending, it doesn't make the Sisters tragic or redeemable, it only demonstrates that, for all their arguing, they do love _each other._ For those that want to bring up the fact that Winnie didn't understand why someone would sacrifice themselves for their sibling, I'd like to point you towards the concepts of 'hypocrisy', and "you don't know what you've got until it's gone". The Sisters _still_ kidnapped and ate children and terrorised Salem, and they did it because they _wanted to;_ a backstory of refusing marriage and being run out of town for it _isn't_ a justification for their actions, it's merely to show that the Sisters (and more specifically Winne) have _always_ been cruel.
Hocus pocus there's pizza on your focus
Could have just had them been working at the store or something. Not hard to put them in the story.
That sucks and shame on Disney for not trying their best to make a call back to the original

Okay so I already have an idea for a third movie so basically it takes place 30 years into the future and the original trio moves back to Salem because it was revealed that they moved and they went back cuz they heard about the Sanderson sisters and they want to finally get rid of the Sanderson sisters once and for all because it can be revealed that they can come back to life again for one final time it mixes the characters from both movies into one movie and every previous character from the movies came back except for a few but one character I wanted to see was Binx he is my favorite Hocus pocus character

The sequel is not terrible but it’s way too clean and sanitized. The original movie is a bit edgy for its time, and Disney would not dare crossing that line today.

Cus apparently, according to woke writers, the only REAL way to make women look powerful is to make men look pathetic.
Everything outside the witches was utter trash. The original cast is too realistic for Disney's modern sanitized overacting. The witches are successful camp because the actresses know how to deliver. What the cast in the new film (and all of Disney channel) was doing ended up being tacky because they don't. Leave stage acting on the stage and give us some actual new talent, Disney. They dropped the ball and did the characters no justice - especially Billy/Doug Jones.

It was not garbage just because something we wanted did not end up getting into it, it was still a very funny movie watching the Witch’s we know and love interacting with the normal world 🌍

Hokus pokus 2...... Political correct, boring and sad to watch. It always hard to make a sequel but even if you havnt seen the first move, this is still close to beeing unwatchable!!! I wish the sequel was never made!!! I absolutely love hokus pokus 1 because it had a certain nerve. Disney absolutly ruined this movie
