My cousins and I always used to dress up as the Sanderson Sisters for Halloween. I was usually Mary.

I personally think they should have just recreated the original costumes bc why would their costume change if they came back from the dead in the same clothes they died in before? But they are beautiful costumes.

Yeah I felt the same. I had to invent a head canon that was that their previous clothes had gotten too old and had to be replaced. But that doesn't really work either, since their old clothes lasted for 300 years. So why wouldn't they last for another 29 years? But it is what it is. 😐

I really wish someone would ask this costume designer what the reference was for Mother Sanderson's dress. As someone who has looked at countless images from the 13th - 17th centuries, I can't figure out what the reference is. (and remember, Mother Sanderson's dress can't be younger than 1650). Is it "The giving of the ring", by Michele da Verona? I have no idea. 🤔

Not to be overly critical but regarding the three Sanderson sisters, he actually simplified a lot of the fine detailing. You go and look at each of these sisters outfits from the original film, you'll notice that They all had very intricate colors blended in, where in this film the designs are more solid colors. For example, if you look at the back of winifred's dress, in the original film, she had a incredible design all down the back, while in this film it was extremely simplified to basically nothing. It really was a downgrade. I also don't understand the changes made, when they are supposed to be the same witches coming back from the dead.

The original costumes were so much better , he over thought the process and did far too much , sometimes less is more !
Honestly I think the sisters should have had an aged look , the old hag look from the first movie but with a touch of the youth they may of once had ..... they didn’t pull of hair and makeup they they wore 30 years ago .... they are older now and it should reflect that

The costumes were atrocious. They looked like cheap knockoffs of the originals that you could buy on Etsy. He has nothing to be proud of.

I'm really sad that Disney wouldn't pay Mary Vogt what she is worth, so she could have done the HP 2 costumes too. 😞 (But to be fair amateur Etsy copies would be made of polyester, not silk).

His costumes were one of the best inclusions of an otherwise bland movie.
