Such a great video Carly. I love cocohusks for LONG TERM, I never see myself changing my plants from it. Another great thing about it is you highly risk killing your plant in cocohusks for upgrading the pot size.. Hoyas like to stay root bound so when you upsize a hoya in coco husks to a larger size the plant won’t get shocked in change plus easy to upgrade as the roots huh all the coco husks when reporting literally just add more cocohusks to a new pot and boila.. I do agree with the negative of having trouble changing your plant maybe back to soil. But I don’t see why someone will Great video (:
Love this video topic! I also have not gotten fungus gnats with it. I have gotten mealies though, so that’s still possible. Overall, coco husk has been working out well for me!
How do you know when it’s time to water again? Does the coco husk change slightly in color? I just ordered cocohusks for my Hoyas and can’t wait to try it.
Hi Carly, when you get coco husk, do you have to wash it very good ? Or do you just soak it and that’s it, use it. I have heard it has a lot of salts and needs to be washed very good prior to use. What do you think?
Hello i have a question, i noticed that the my hoya hellwigiana’s roots are completely entangled to the coconut husks (it arrived like that when i ordered it) If I am going to transfer this to my hoya mix (orchid bark, pumice, charcoal, perlite, cactus soil, Bonsai Jack Gritty mix) , do i need to remove the husks? or it is safe to just put it as is? sorry i have never used husks before.
