It should be noted though that Ipswich will have played 46 games per season and Arsenal and Man City have played 38. So that's 8 more games. Its not really comparable.
I dunno if a promotion Is good 4 such a young team. Look at Burnley. Sold the team bought into a youth side w loans that played tiki taka style, now there getting easily relegated and have to keep kompany as coach or they'd have to sell the team again but for less. Then again parachute payments do exist
Well maybe that's the problem. You think it's a one man job. He's the manager but he's not solely responsible. I guess that's the poisoned chalice. You get the praise for promotion, so you alone get the criticism for failure.
Thanks to Ed Sheeran, who invested in this club and completely transformed it. He has bought new management, supported and mentored his team. Also to mention that he is a boyhood fan of Ipswich Town.
As an ipswich fan we finally have some joy, my grandpa was a season ticket holder for over 40 years maybe even 50 and he sadly passed away recently, I was hoping he’d make it till the end of the season…. Lets hope they can make it back to the prem, he would be over the moon 💙🚜
Once he coached Leicester youth, and now he's a part of the teams that are fighting against us for the title. Interesting. Btw the pic where you showed managers that is not Enzo Maresca
Hate to say it as a Norwich fan, but this Ipswich team has been seriously impressive. I have a nasty feeling they will replicate the Norwich 2010-2011 achievement of back to back promotions. They're playing with real confidence and attack every team they face.
They were saying McKenna etc shouldn’t be near United squad just before we moved to Ipswich, seems when people leave the United mess they are better but the mess is still there at United 😅
As an Ippy town boy and supporter, McKenna has changed everything for us, so has mark Ashton, the team, the club and the supporters are like a family ❤
I read a blog from a Dutch journalist today that there is a certain manager in England that no one knows abroad, but that everything he does screams Ajax. He was talking about Kieran McKenna from Ipswich Town. Seeing this short confirms he was right. We will change coaches in the summer and our club needs a bit of a rebuild. It would be interesting to see McKenna as a coach making it happen, but I would understand him staying at Ipswich too after he promotes
Super Blues Lovely club Fantastic achievement Keep Keiron McKenna and add two good defenders and a midfield playmaker and will end up mid table in the Premier
I got my friend to watch football and he supports Leicester (Sometimes biased for Vardy) and I wanted to see how they were doing and when I saw IPSWICH, the first thing I said, "I'm sorry weren't they in a relegation battle just a while ago"
I am playing Football Manager 23 and decided to took over a big club that is in lower divisions. I used to do it on sunderland, and chose to go with Ipswich. I didnt look how they are doing in the present, and this video pops up and i was in shock. I looked at transfer activities and had similar players bought in and loaned (Hutchinson, became a superstar for my team and irl too). Got promoted like them too. I am one season ahead, now in the premier league making my way to become mid table club. At this point its unrealistic, just because of the signings i made. But first two season were identical. Fun to see Ipswich dream becoming a reality. Might be a fan at this point.
The new George Burley. I’ve been watching ispwich town for years now and it looks like they are on course to matching the boys of 2000. Only wish they started Humphreys more.
Felt horrendous seeing their first two games, though. Liverpool and city back to back to start your campaign is something nobody wants… hope there next few games go a little better, as a fan of a league one team myself, I’m rooting for them
I remember when people were calling him the other Neville brother when he was at Utd, guess him being a decent coach confirms that he isn't related to them at all!
Anyone else feel like if mckenna worked with pep he getting more respect like Enzo Maresca gets for doing well with the biggest and richest team in the league because he worked with pep, or kompany got last season
Just hoping big clubs do not look at McKenna and buy him. It seems like when any of these managers start to shine, then leave early to a bigger club, they flop.
Good to see Ipswich Town getting some recognition! I appreciate them but didn’t expect this kind of good form they have. I can’t forget they were UEFA Cup/Europa League Champions in 1980, and PL and FA Cup Champions as well. They have history! Update: Ipswich is ONE POINT AWAY from Premier League football. Update 2: THEY ARE PL. SAY IT THEY ARE PL. Ipswich won against Huddersfield Town despite Leeds losing to Southampton and they are Back with a great 96 points!!!!! McKenna has absolutely done it: BACK2BACK AFTER 22 YEARS!!!!!
Sometimes it's not all about surviving the league you can improve the squad and give them valuable experience some we leave if they end up relegated but they would be better off in the future because of that they will get decent money for them which they can invest in order to go back up and hopefully stay in the Premier League the following time round
@@BenSmith-od8fcThat’s a stupid logic to compare clubs. Has Ipswich won 14 FA Cups or 13 League Titles. If European trophies matter this much then why is Juventus considered that big. Because of overall trophies. Now compare all these clubs you mentioned using OVERALL TROPHIES.
Update: they have done it! The tractor boys are in the premier league 👏👏👏
Quality

@@STST we’ll see if they got promoted now
It so crazy how one person can change a club in only one season and the whole foundation.Props to Kieran Mckenna . Hope they get promoted❤️
Same thing with Stuttgart and Leverkusen. Crazy that just one person can change everything

Not just the manager, new owners really brought life back to the club that hasnt been seen in years. But mckenna is our king 👑
Not to discredit Kieran but the whole structure of the club has changed due to the new ownership, mark Ashton and more work put into the community
Well maybe that's the problem. You think it's a one man job. He's the manager but he's not solely responsible. I guess that's the poisoned chalice. You get the praise for promotion, so you alone get the criticism for failure.
