Do you know if a mid 11 mac mini High Sierra update to Ventura would be possible by now? Have you had any issues using Monterey on your mac mini? I have the mid 2011 2.7Ghz i7 with Radeon 6630m 256mb for comparison. I upgraded the ram to 16GB DDR3
@@aikidoboynj YEs ofcourse you can update to mac os ventura but you will see some bugs and issues with some apps thats all but mac os monterey works perfectly fine on my mac.

I could have swore it was a SSD. So now I think I'll swap to a samsung SSD prior to doing anything with updating the ios.

@@AshishYadav-nk6oq yes. I replace the hard drive with ssd hard drive. If you change your hard drive you need to put a resistor for temp sensor otherwise the fans will run non stop . There is a UA-cam video how to do it

Thanks for the video but everyone should note: the use of the “munki” tool to download the installer will not (easily) work when running from a newer M1/M2 Mac. An Intel Mac is required to run the munki tool to download Intel versions of MacOS. I suggest running it from your new cheap Mac Mini to make this work.
Brou these video is amazing. Nice work. I did this on an iMac 2011, and the best part is that the iMac works great, amazing! So cool. This content is really important, so many machines that can be reused afterall, i just think that the video is a bit outdated some stuff does not mach exactly like in the video. It woud be nice maybe a new video. I guess maybe some people have some troubles to figure it out when something happens diferent on theyr machine. On the minute 9:00 i think it woud be nice to include how people can check the right version for theyr machine, i figure it out on open core list but is this type of thing that maybe sometimes makes people give up and thing that it does not work. I changed my hard drive to a SSD but I still have the original hard drive that I use with a Voyager device I got from OWC. Can I install this on the SSD or will I have to restore the hard drive? I’m not sure if I missed something, but the OS was downloaded from the legacy patcher website and then a download from the Apple website. I didn’t see where both were placed on the usb stick

@TechNolli Another awesome production, but one question....... I've gone through installs from some other channels for unsupported macs and they go through generating the serial and board numbers. I note that you do not generate serials and I'm a bit confused, is this not a necessary step when using a legacy MacMini?
a video just on all these tools would be great, because we don't know details on each of them, when to use them, what they can do, etc... i see a lot of them on your site, but you use some of them from time to time, but it's difficult to remember then on which video you showed their need/usage... when propertree, when this new patcher, if the new tools made the old one unnecessary anymore (i see you use this new patcher to install the efi for example, so no more need for mountefi?), do these tools collect kexts automatically based on actual hw on the machine, how to use that other graphical tool you used in previous video to customize opencore (no need for propertree anymore, too? The other tool can even keep kexts updated!), etc

Friend, I'm with a problem with the Macbook Pro 2011 with microphone and camera. I'm using the 0.6.4 version of Open Core, but the mic and camera doesn't work with third apps. Even I go to the settings to allow it the softwares are not shown there. Do you know what should I do?

Interested in hackintosh hardware that you can actually purchase from amazon or newegg online anywhere in the world. being cheapest or most high end would mean nothing if you can buy it anywhere but hunt it down in ebay hoping it will work and not a scam.

You can do it, I did it from Catalina. However, I noticed that the mid 2011 Mac Mini gets its fan going pretty quick on Monterey, which is not in the video. I suspect this might be from not doing a clean install, but I will try a clean install now
OCLP downloaded to download folder successfully; Moved it to Application folder; Next step was to use OCLP to download macOS 12.6.5 (21G531) installer which completed 100% but I don't know where it is, not in the download folder and when I click the Flash Installer button it says no installer in Applications folder. I downloaded installer with OCLP multiple times successfully but have no idea where the installer is going. Using search does not find the downloaded file. Please help. Using mid-2011 21.5" iMac 12,1 macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 2.5 GHz i5 with original 500GB HD + 500 SSD where disc drive used to be. Startup drive is SSD. OCLP is in the application folder on the SSD drive.
Wow, great. Just set aside the better part of a day, have another computer for all the downloading, follow these 50 or so specific steps, and don’t forget to upgrade the hard drive - all so you can use a 12 year old computer. Hooray.

You need to uncheck the boot picker also.

Option is the equivalent of ALT on a PC, Command is usually the equivalent of the Windows key, and CTRL is CTRL.

You can do it, I did it from Catalina. However, I noticed that the mid 2011 Mac Mini gets its fan going pretty quick on Monterey, which is not in the video. I suspect this might be from not doing a clean install, but I will try a clean install now

OCLP downloaded to download folder successfully; Moved it to Application folder; Next step was to use OCLP to download macOS 12.6.5 (21G531) installer which completed 100% but I don't know where it is, not in the download folder and when I click the Flash Installer button it says no installer in Applications folder. I downloaded installer with OCLP multiple times successfully but have no idea where the installer is going. Using search does not find the downloaded file. Please help. Using mid-2011 21.5" iMac 12,1 macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 2.5 GHz i5 with original 500GB HD + 500 SSD where disc drive used to be. Startup drive is SSD. OCLP is in the application folder on the SSD drive.

Wow, great. Just set aside the better part of a day, have another computer for all the downloading, follow these 50 or so specific steps, and don’t forget to upgrade the hard drive - all so you can use a 12 year old computer. Hooray.

Why not install Ventura, why Monterray? I think Ventura is better, I have installed it on my machine and apps are up-to-date...
Because for non-metal systems it is not yet supported.
@@TechNolli I dont know that... I have mac mini 2012, its not supported but I have used OCLP to install it.
