1st SWARM CATCH with the COLORADO BEE VAC - How did it go?
Вставка

- I ordered a Colorado Bee Vac and two days after it arrived some friends had a large swarm settle in a somewhat awkward spot. It would have been a difficult removal without the bee vac so I decided to use it. How did it work? Watch and see!
I hope you like the video. If you do please like and subscribe. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and enjoy!

Guy, the creator of the product, is very helpful and more than willing to answer any questions you may have. Good luck with all you beekeeping endeavors!🐝🙂
Great job Bruce!
Thanks! It was a lot of fun!🐝🙂
She was a beauty
Yes she was! Weird how she wasn’t in the box. Must have snuck out when I was looking in or rearranging frames. I got lucky that she didn’t fly 30 feet up in a tree!
Thanks for watching!!!
great video! i have two of the colorado bee vacs...lovem!
Yes they are great. I think I am going to need another catch box. Easiest swarm catch ever.
@@brucesbees i had a big wall removal today...vacummed quite a bit...i should have changed boxes in between removal ---.You can put too many bees in there and they can die on you. I had a few dead when I got back 25 min away. My error...live and learn.
Yes that is what I have heard. Typically don’t do a lot of removals but I will occasionally do one if in an old abandoned building that can be damaged without concern. Or I sometimes help others. My carpentry skills are not that good. Maybe I will start doing more now. Just need some experience, but time is also an issue for sure. There are just not enough hours in the day or days in the week!
Bruse, this was 4 years ago with the Bee Vac. Do you still use it and if not why?
Yes I have it and use it if I need it. Haven’t actually used it much lately
Yes I have a cool shield from Blythewood. I did call them. They said they only had replacement fencing style veils. Ordered one and it was a piece of crap. Very disappointing. Was hoping you had a different source.
I got that jacket a couple of years ago. Didn’t know those were not still available. I sent Scott at Blythewood a message. Maybe he can tell me where to get one. I really do like it.
Thanks
Bee's are like the smartest insect ever. They tricked us into making homes for them and somehow caused us to want to do it. :D
You’re right haha!!! I agree! They are amazing little critters. Thanks for checking in!
What veil are you using with that jacket? I have one of those jackets but with the fencing style veil. I don’t care for it and I’d like to replace it.
You have a Cool Shield Jacket? If so I think you can special order the round veil from the Company (Blythewood Bee Company). You might have to call them. Not sure if it is available online.
I may have a solution for you Scott. Message me at Bruce Jenne on fb if on there or email me at bruce@brucesbees.com
Let me know the best way to get in touch with you.
scott mansfield I have both and the fencing style is best if your going to look up, I did a cut out last year and only had the other and it like to have drove me crazy.
I have both but prefer the round 90% of the time.
Awesome Bruce, great job! Never caught a swarm but did get my first inquiry so we’ll see. Thanks for sharing, looks like as really nice vacuum.
Thanks for checking in and good luck. Hopefully you will be able to have a successful catch. It is always an adventure and can be a lot of fun!!!
I hope to be able to do that up here in Nebraska. Another great video.
Best of luck and I hope you catch many swarms! Thanks for watching!!!
Were in ne lm in the sw panhandle
We're south of Lincoln
looks like they drained that jar overnight. Do you use diluted honey water? The color looked like it, or is it something you add to sugar water/
I use Beekeepers Choice and Amino-B to feed. Sugar water is at 1:1 ratio this time of year. The bees love it. I like to give them a jar or two to help them get established. We have a good flow going now though so probably not totally necessary but it never hurts to give them a little jumpstart.
Thanks for checking out the video and thanks for the comment!
where do you get the vac?
The link is in the description to the video.
If you check into it please let him know where you heard about it. Thanks for checking in!!!
