  • Although in the minority, the red team ran a fierce campaign to oppose the ratification of a new constitution, in a referendum that had been slated for the 4th of August 2010. Three ministers stood shoulder to shoulder with the church to oppose the proposed constitution. The soft spoken Minister for Information and Communications, Samuel Poghisio, teamed up with cabinet colleagues, William Ruto and Naomi Shabban to run an impressive and highly visible no campaign. Raised in the hostile terrain that is his Kacheliba Constituency in West Pokot, the former Daystar University lecturer may be soft spoken, but he is also a cunning political operator. Our reporter Willis Raburu visited him at his farm in Kacheliba and has his story on tonight's edition of the newsmakers series.

I don't think Uhuru would accept such an up close interview. For a guy who loves his bottle and his smoke It would be a bad look for his image. I hear he goes to work with a quarter bottle of vodo tucked in his chest suit pocket. He also likes playing vedio games at his treasury building office.

@TheFirimbi...I LOL man that was a nice one. Anyway, a simple principled man who leads quite an ordinary life after serving for5 terms, theres not much to show he has stolen from the public. I admire you so much.Indeed you R just the kind of politician we need. Principled like Ruto, but goes far beyond. May God bless you & we wish U best of luck and hope U continue to learn from any mistakes & go on to lead Kenya. You are admirable. Thanks for admitting your mistake with the media bill.

@Jamrockk, @gatangastarrs, @jasusi dont ever dream about a central politician being featured on newsmakers. Dont go far, if you want to know about Central folks search for Movers and Shakers + Citizen. I think you now understand this is not just news, it is business and Citizen has done it in style that separates the noise makers and money makers.
