100 series landcruiser t-belt (timing belt) reset procedure

Quick how to guide on resetting your timing belt dash light if you want to change the interval of the timing belt service when it displays "15" you can cycle through from 1 to 15 (10k - 150k) buy pressing the button. Once correct number is shown hold for 5 seconds and release.

Dude I’ve been driving with that fking light on for a year and a half because my “big work” mechanic told me I was gonna have to pull the gauge cluster to reset it, I could never be bothered to even google it until about 30 mins ago. If only I had known it was this easy all those months ago. Cheers

Hi Gary! Sorry I'm not sure of a way to check this other than the sticker on the timing belt cover or by checking the log book as the light can be reset without actually changing the belt. I'd spend the coin and get it done if your not sure.

the V8 petrol has timing chains good for the life of the motor upone further information the 4.7 is the only Toyota viwith a timing belt my bad sorry

Didn't work on 105 series. On the second press the 15 came up ok and on the 3rd press after 5 seconds the 15 disappeared and went back to odometer reading but the timing belt light didn't go out.

Give it another crack, it's worked for hundreds of 105 series including my 2003 105 series and 2002 100. On my 100 the light didnt go out immediately but when I took the keys out of the ignition and put them back in it cleared.
