I am SHOCKED. Just SHOCKED. It feels like yesterday when I started watching your journey in hospital pharmacy. I'm hugely proud of you for making this big change. I wonder if you'll locum for Navid's pharmacies haha.
I feel the same. Work 24/7 & don't have any real holiday. Paid less then everyone since i'm a junior pharmacist. Now I also 3.5 years work in hospital & feel very tired to hold the stress.
This video pretty much sums up my hospital experience and why I left for GP and so far I have no regrets and I definitely feel I making an impact in patients’ lives just as I did in hospital but now even more so. I wish you all the best in your new role and can’t wait to find out what you are doing.
Some really interesting points! (I can relate having worked in hosp for 4 years before leaving) whilst I do miss some parts of hosp I definitely don't regret leaving, change can be good!
Such a shame to see you leave... I remember when I was subbed to you in 2019 when I was still in uni watching you talk about hospital pharmacy and now here I am fully qualified in hospital! It's such a shame that we are polar opposites, everything you described I am blessed to be in the opposite where I have a well staffed department, seniors always happy to help anytime and v rare on calls. Hope you'll still continue to make vids!! Good luck on your next path! :)
That is big decision. I am happy for you. I think you have really good communication skills. I hope you find something that you could contribute your ability and potential in full. Bless you!
As a fellow hospital pharmacist I feel that all the points you mentioned hit home really hard. Wish I had the courage like you to make the change. All the best to you Regina. Please keep us posted about your new role!
I love this video so much - extremely helpful 🥰 tbh, from my hospital placements I had already known that I would love to do a hospital pre-reg (because you seriously do learn a lot 🙈), but I also realised that I don't see myself being in hospital long-term...for pretty much the same reasons you mentioned 😅💜 (also, I can't wait to learn more about your current role (when you feel comfortable sharing, that is) ☺)
unfortunately I have to do things which I don't like independent prescribing course .I know that in this country there is a low level of prescribing which is still going down .I 'm good at botanic ,prevention ,holistic treatment .I don't want to be in situation when they will judge me and paid 3 times lees than doctor and I have more responsibility than doctor because he dosen't care if the drug was dispensed correctly or not .You don't know how bad is in community pharmacy busy pharmacy becoming quiet ,and quiet busy .Now there are more prescribers than executor of the prescription and dispensing drugs is more and more complicated

Have to know that perfectionism is actually counterproductive. I suffer with the same problem but am trying to realise that I can't not make a mistake. As long as you can learn from it and grow!
So crazy that I sighted this while watching….I have started a series called “ethical dilemmas” on my channel where I go into difficult situations pharmacists get into. Especially “making mistakes” This is honestly one of the worst fears for most pharmacists. Its crazy but mistakes are not completely avoidable. There are some ways to get past this anxiety.
@@faiththepharmacist do pharmacists have more anxiety in making mistakes than doctors? because if a doctors gets a diagnosis wrong isn’t that worse? please enlighten me
I love your videos sm. Thanks for the effort you put into editing your videos and keeping it clear. I want to be an industrial pharmacist, really anything that lets me work for a company like GSK. Would you say it’d be a better idea to go straight to industry from pharmacy, or should I study something else? I was planning to pharmacology but apparently pharmacy is better.
Thank you! For industry I think the preferred degree would depend on what role you’re going for. The benefit of MPharm is that you get a license at the end of it and more patient interaction but pharmacology I think is also not a bad option!
@@KOREginAPharmacist Oh its totally not! I been thinking of it for an while! Something that I had noticed is allot of pharmacists and other co workers are having the same experince as well might be that Im in one of the most populated location as well!
Hi, I love your channel and the honesty in your videos! As a soon to be hospital trainee pharmacist, I was wondering if you have had any experiences with pharmacists who have ADHD and what it has been like for them?
Thank you for all your videos. Even though I'm a community pharmacist with over 25 years experience, I find your videos refreshing and informative. Out of interest...what is your next role?
You know what puts our profession back? The constant guilt tripping that us locums charge more. Every contracted pharmacist (community or hospital) moans about locum rates but never raises the question directly to their employer. Sad really! 😢
I'm currently studying pharmacy at uni, in the future i wanted to be a clinical pharmacist or be a advanced clinical practitioner. I wanted to ask in your opinion what is a more clinical role and more patient focused. Also, are there more pharmacist or ACP in hospital ? Thanks for the content.
I would say acp is more clinical and patient focused as they are like doctors, diagnosing and treating patients. In my area most of the acps in hospitals are nurses and I only know a few pharmacist acps in primary care. To get a job as an acp you will already need clinical experience such as hospital or primary care which both require 2 yrs training at entry level. Acp course is an extra 3 years after that. I find that pharmacist acp jobs are rare and hard to find.
Disagree much easier to go from community to hospital. You obviously haven't work directly with public and especially during the pandemic. Hospital makes you a recluse
