I still have that set. I remember taking days watching all the special features. Back when the major studios will sometimes put out boutique quality box sets. Too bad they've all forgotten how to properly do physical media.
My girl gifted me this when it released… now it went from just simply valuable to extremely sentimental, will never part with it… may she rest in peace.
That Elm Street box set is a gem. I own it myself, but I’ll tell you what MY most valued piece of physical media is. Back in 2004, when Universal was marketing the film Van Helsing for theatrical release, they did not miss the opportunity to re-release the classic monster films as a new movie tie in. What they released was called the Classic Monster Legacy DVD Gift Set. It is a beautiful classy looking box which contains the 2004 first editions of the Dracula, Frankenstein, and Wolf Man Legacy Collections, totaling 14 films. Additionally, it has a resin hand painted bust for each monster, made by Sideshow Collectibles. I remember the very day I purchased that box set. It still remains on the top of my movie bookshelf to this day. I will always cherish it. Not only do I still think that it is the most beautiful piece of physical media I’ve ever seen, but it changed my life. Although I’ve seen Dracula, Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, and Creature from the Black Lagoon prior to owning this collection; is still changed my life, because it really opened me up to a much more expanded world of Universal Monsters. To this day, I now have the 30 film Blu-ray collection and 2 8-film 4K collections, and I consider the Universal Classic Monster franchise/universe to be the greatest films ever made. For me, it all started with that 2004 awesome box set.
A few years ago I managed to get this box set on eBay at a cheap price brand new, it’s still wrapped in shrink wrap and I was initially gonna open it but once it arrived I didn’t have it in me to open it. It’s amazing!
Still my favorite boxset of the Nightmare movies, and as far as I'm aware, still the only release that has the 3D sequence for Freddy's Dead as a viewing option. I could be wrong of course, but yeah I'd recommend hanging onto that.
I got this set right when it was released at walmart in fact I nearly got it earlier than others may have because our local walmart made a mistake and was putting it out along with the display extremely early, I made the mistake of asking them how much the set was and they scanned it and was like oops we put it out to early sorry you can't buy it yet so they started taking down the display and putting the dvds in the back.
I haven’t watched mine for many years but it’s one of the very few DVD sets I still keep around because it just looks so fcking cool! It’s become one of my prized Freddy relics next to my talking Freddy doll from the 80s😎
Did you make it thru the maze to watch the music video? I have this set also have my 3D glasses from the theatre I seen Freddy dead which has been torn down. 75¢ for a movie back then
I had bought it when it first came out, sold it then I found it at a thrift store for $7 bucks a few months ago. It's great but we need a proper 4k bluray set up like this too
The sequels can't hold a candle to the first movie (albeit 3, 4 and New Nightmare are in keeping with the spirit) regardless, I have to say that boxset is something special and they just don't make them like that anymore.
I slipped the Nightmare on Elm Street blu ray and insert into a 2 disc case and added the Freddy’s Revenge/Dream Warriors blu that I found used for $5. Can’t wait for the 4K!
I ended up getting rid of that nightmare dvd set and sold it on ebay. It just took up too much shelf space. My most prized piece of physical media is the Rad 4k from Vinegar Syndrome. I can't believe how much money it's worth.
The Blu-ray set is pretty half-assed. Worst is that they updated the New Line openings and closings, and Freddy’s Dead doesn’t have the red and blue 3D sequence.
I also have this set, which was picked up at Target on sale for $40 at the time of release…and I dare WB to release an equally impressive 4k set😎
They won’t even come close.
I believe mine was $100 from Circuit City and it is not open.
I still have that set. I remember taking days watching all the special features. Back when the major studios will sometimes put out boutique quality box sets. Too bad they've all forgotten how to properly do physical media.
$$$ isn't there anymore.. That's what it all comes down too sadly.
Didn't expect to hear Mareux in the background on your videos. Always love to hear synth music out there.
I have been holding on to this set for the same reason. Would love to see it finally get a 4K treatment.

I still have this displayed in my horror room, great set!

I wish I didn't sell mine a long time ago. One of the things I'm most upset about getting rid of.
Badass box set!
They need to release the 2 season tv series!!! It's online but really needs to be remastered
I'm frm Australia, and picked it up in the US when I was visiting. Happy to own n it's in great condition all these yrs later 😊
The 4K Box set will be available December 31 2024
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
Just saw that at Goodwill, now I wish I had bought it
Nice set ! 1&3 on 4K slips and I'll be happy :-)
If only they could exceed that with 4k boxset. I might have better luck finding a unicorn.
I had that set and regret selling it.

They’re readily available still online. I bought one in great shape on Facebook marketplace about a month ago for $24 after shipping lol
That’s a cool box set, but some of those movies suck. I only like the ones Wes Craven was involved in.
That's is Cool 😎 Ken 👍 I still haven't opened mine that I bought at Circuit City when it first came out 👍😎
I got a used, but very good condition set 100% Complete, from Mercari for $25. I'm so happy this is in my collection. the condition was 8/10.
Great deal you got then!
I would love that collection as a modern day 4K set!
🤘😎🤘
SAME! TO THIS DAY!!!

Yes sir buddy

Yep, it’s OOP forever and going for $80 or more on eBay.
@@blackphilipalvarez1305 Rad with the Slipcover is over $100 easily.
Love they used the og artworks
Was it not reissued on Blu-Ray, Ken I think August /September
Give me that exact box set on 4K Warner Bros/New Line, c’mon🙏🏼!!
I remember hot topic selling it for 200$ back in 02
I got mine from Target for
$40 in 2006
Yep that nightmare set is still the best box set of all time to me
I had that alonggggg time ago
Dude, same. I love that box set.
I have that boxet. I would like to update. The movies some time thanks for sharing your video on a night mare on elm street
I have that set
I thought Michelle was your favorite possession? 😂
I remember getting this
Isn't there a Blu ray collection? What's the difference?
The Blu-ray set is pretty half-assed. Worst is that they updated the New Line openings and closings, and Freddy’s Dead doesn’t have the red and blue 3D sequence.
Remake isn't that bad just because Robert England isn't Freddy. He said he's to old to be doing that anymore.
No, it's bad for other reasons. 😂
@@michelle_pgh like what I thought it's alright.
Most best movies editions was on DVD format.
Worst franchise along with scream, saw, fridaiy 13, & leprechaun to ever exist. & child play.
Now that’s a highly unpopular take. Good job 😂
You made a video of this and didn't show off the spines properly?!
Got the same one.
