I've been thinking about doing a follow up to this talking about some of the problems with this release and discussing the reactions by the VHS collecting community.
Since nostalgia really sells these days amongst Hollywood, I really think that if they bring back VHS and re-release every movie ever made on VHS I guarantee that stores all over that sell physical media would double its profits overnight. Because there’s tons of people who grew up with VHS and there’s tons of people who still collect VHS and they miss it and everything so if they were to bring it back, people would go crazy and yeah, every store around the world that sells physical media would make a shit ton of money. Because like I said nostalgia really sells these days. I mean, they brought vinyl back and everything so I think they should do the same with VHS and I guarantee that it would be a huge moneymaker.
I don't see big studios releasing movies on VHS. Depending on how successful this run is I could see A24 and Blumhouse doing some special limited runs of their films on VHS.
Who the hell misses VHS? It was crap then and it’s crap now. I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s and i definitely don’t miss rewinding and fast forwarding anything. Nor do I miss the crappy picture and full frame. I guess people miss the physical aspects of the box and the cassette itself? Because the fuzzy picture is garbage.
I would never buy the garbage. Nobody even has VHS players anymore! Vinyl makes sense because even till this day nothing beats the analog sound of vinyl
lol that I’m pretty sure the movie is on there, but I’m just gonna ask anyway. Is the movie actually on the tape or is this just for show? Also it’s still kind of cool to see, for me personally I’ll never buy another VHS going forward. I only buy 4K Blu-ray.
@@harosa I still have a VCR, and a bunch of VHS movies, sure I might not use them anymore, but a lot of people do just for that nostalgic feeling, and a horror movie on VHS just hits the spot, so, yeah, those tapes do have the movie, it's not just for show and tell
@@Mayo11-i5t that’s cool but i can see if they were selling more the feel and box of a vhs tape for the nostalgia hook and possibly the tapes being blank just for show. Am i overthinking? Lol. Because i want to get this but id have no way of playing it. Lol
@@harosa lol gotcha no worries, well look it's not the first time they bring vintage formats back, for example, the cassette tapes fro guardians of the Galaxy, I have volumes 1 and 2, and they actually work, and it feels so awesome to actually use physical formats, so once again, I bet those VHS movies work, so if you wanna go for it, do so, even if it's just to keep them as collectables, now if you want a VCR, I'm pretty sure Amazon might have some
I haven't watched the featurette so I couldn't tell you what's in it. But, I can tell you it's not new to this release. The same featurette can be found on the 4K/Blu-ray steelbook that came out last year.
The Crazy fact that this VHS 📼 is more expensive than the 4K 😮. But for nostalgia purposes, I would get it just because 😂. Last VHS 📼 I ever bought was 25 years ago and it was Blair Witch ⚰️
VHS in 2024
Its not even proper fullscreen. Image is cropped on the sides. Dissapointing.

But why 2 cassettes? What’s different?
I don't know why they decided to go with two over one tape. The only difference content wise is this has a bonus feature.
Did you get the mask?
No, but I would like to get it though.
@@nathangrowler420 same here, my city is always the last to get anything but I’d love to have it.. Now I see folks online selling it for more

Lol why would they sell blank tapes? The movie is in there
@@Mayo11-i5ti mean it’s a legit question. Who still has vcrs? You might want this as a fan of the movie as a collectible.

I have V/H/S/2 on V/H/S but haven’t opened it.
Does the convention feature includes the cast on the video

Really VHS 📼
Original? Recorded on a TDK tape? Lol

Got enough emojis? Fucking dumb.
