Duck Opener 2023 | Maryland Public Land

Man seems like I’m always riding the struggle bus lol..I really like the fact that even though y’all didn’t limit out you still put a great video out. Sometimes that can be a challenge and an accomplishment that most wouldn’t even try. Im from the next county over from the marsh you were hunting. The Eastern Shore used to have some of the best waterfowl hunting in America. Sadly, that's no longer the case. However, you can still get good hunts around here, provided you have two factors: the weather cooperates, and you have a private lease. Regrettably, the second is hard to come by unless you are rich. Actually, I would like to take a trip to SC to hunt feral hogs.

At the best of times Maryland public duck takes a lot of knowledge and work. But this was the worst November split we've had in awhile. Didn't even bother hunting the opener or the 2nd weekend. A few birds showed up the second week and managed a two man and a one man. But it's really not friendly to New guys.

I grew up hunting those marshes. Don't feel bad, the hunting up here sucks and it has for a while. Those local black ducks are hard to kill. They'll circle 5 times and then land 100 yards away in a pothole. Like you said, better to take a trip anymore.

Here on the east coast we have the most beautiful marshes in the world. Just not a duck to be found on them 😂. I don’t know what can be done to improve our Atlantic flyway duck populations but it needs to be done. Even if that means no hunting.

The Atlantic Flyway has become the laughing stock of North American duck hunting. We’re just praying for a turnaround for the 3rd split.
