Good review so far. I was yelling at the screen when you had the cables wrong, apparently you didn't hear me. :D I was wondering if you have done the decoupling capacitors mod? I did it on my 8008 and it has made a difference in the speed of the measurement settling down. I also replaced my fuses with surface mount fuse holders (1808 sized fuse).
I think those cables are the fathers banana plugs. ;-D Looks like a decent meter though. I'd like to get one with the temp probe too. Is it going to be on the store? Thanks for giving us a peek at the new 8009!
Love those meters! Will you review the AN870 as well? Its their top model I think and goes for around 40US$. I'm currently struggling if its worth the extra cost over the AN8008 or AN8009. I already own a AN8008 but wanna get a 2nd meter
Get yourself a function generator. You dont really need an expensive one for hobby type work. Plenty of them based around the XR2002 chip that are very cheap.
Thank you for yet an other interesting video. I have noticed something wierd with my ANENG AN8008 when turned off, if connected there is a current running through my DMM. In my case I measured it at about 2 mA when connected to 5 V with the dial in the off position. If you have time, does your 8008 behave the same way? Thanks again. DrT.
6:00 You make me scream to the screen...
It almost "made Dave's wombat explode" 😆

No, I have done no mods. But now that I. I'm retired I may do that.
I like your reviews alot and often pick up items biased off of your teviews... keep up the great work Paul!
Thank you

Regarding ANENG AN8008, if you put this into diode mode and there is a short, does it make a beep noise immediately?? Thanks 😊
Why this multimeter is not suitable for masearing high voltage??
it's not independently tested
aneng Q1 was just out, doesn't do well in the battery section
Hi, can you post a link as to where you got your current standard from? Thanks.

Thanks - but that looks like a voltage reference? How about the device being used at 6:50 during the current measurements?

Super - many thanks.

Did you conclude whether it's worth the extra?
What would you recommend for calibrating a.c. range?

Oh!!! it does not have a square wave output as 8008.
No
Can it find wires in a wall by NCV?
Yes if they are energized.
What's up with your audio 10 minutes in?
This meter sure has gone up in price...
Do I NEED another meter?
Is it GREEN?
Hmmm, it is rather good looking though, thanks Paul... 👍🏻 🤑 🐍
It is about the same as the 8008 & 8002. They have a couple different functions... But that's just software.
learnelectronics - have you explored Amazon UK affiliation Paul? ... 🤔👍🏻🐍

You could test the accuracy of the thermocouple with boiling water and ice water.
Yep
Yep

Maybe you should do a UA-cam video for all of us about the nuances of Cell's vs. Batteries. I'm on the edge of my chair in anticipation! :D LOL

Should I contact Marvel or DC Comics to produce said video?
@@bblod4896 Go with "DC" Comics, please, we're talking about batteries after all 😂

Yeah, I grew up watching B&W TV Superman.
Have you ever scoped the sqr wave on the older model?
Yes
Can you link the vid? After you get some sleep though 😀
I'll check for a link
Who are all the people mentioned at the end credits?
They are my patrons.
Don't you sleep?
Very little.
