    How do you replace the blade for the stainless steel A3500 container??? The base has no grooves to insert the wrench!!

    Thank you sir. Vitamix was NO help "we don't sell individual parts, but you can buy a new container for ~150 bucks"......yeah....wet blade assembly replacement $17 Amazon, wrench $8. Wrench worked great....unfortunately the new blade assembly leaked worse than the old one !! Lot better looking O ring on the new one.....tighten it down good, liquid pours out the bottom. I even looked real close around the hole area in the container thinking maybe it was cracked....nope....could not get the new one to stop leaking.

    Thanks for this video. I didn't even know there was a wrench. I needed to tighten my loose blade.

    The blade won’t rotate even after removing it. Should the part with the thread that sits on the base drive socket move if I try to spin it?

    It's not working on mine at all. The black round nut seems to be glued to the blade system. Impossible to unscrew ... Maybe calk or something?

    After I replaced my blade, just as your video shows, the blade won't rotate when the motor is turned on. Motor seems to be rotating. I checked the size of blade assembly gear is same as the old blade. Do you know what might be the reason?

    Hey, Chris, if I get a new whole wet blade assembly for my vita-mix container and place it in as you described, will everything be sealed properly, because I'm told the opposite by vita mix the company themselves?

      As long as there's a proper o ring seal against the blender base on the blade assembly, it should remain leak free. If the replacement is a knockoff and not precision made, then it could fail, so be careful who you buy parts from since there are potentially a few knockoff Chinese companies on Amazon, which Amazon itself does not warn buyers about.

    This is great. I have the bracket off but the blade assembly refuses to come out. Other videos show it dropping out with a tap. I pounded as hard as I could and....nothing. Guess I'll need a new carafe.

    • @charlesa.wobbly5578
      @charlesa.wobbly5578 6 місяців тому

      I have the exact same problem. If I pound any harder, I'll probably break the container itself.

  • @bethpaulsen3550

    does it matter if the blade are a different size than the original? The base seems the same but the actual blades are shorter than the container's original blades.

      Be careful for inferior Chinese knockoff material blades. I'm not sure which those are at the moment, but there are a lot of manufacturing knock offs on Amazon which will void your blender's warranty if it is still under one for repairs/parts. Otherwise, if it works, it may be a good idea to use the replacement kit shown in the video. Just make sure you don't end up with some inferior Chinese steel parts which too easily become rusted over a short time in use! My wife and I have an old (purchased in 2007) 5000 series which needs a new variable speed potentiometer replacement, new 64 oz wet container, and the blade assembly. I'm a little leery of purchasing a knockoff replacement kit for it. The original lasted so long and was made of durable materials. We put the old one through its paces as well for quite a long time before buying a new blender last month-- the old one still works, so I'm keeping it in use until the motor fails. It's nice having a second Vitamix for family feast gatherings and parties. We're a big smoothie family.

      I've talked to them. No help. Told me I'm on my own and have to find one online. It's a $5-10 part and as I said there are many out there but not for my specific model

    hey when I tighten mine up the metal bit digs into the jug because there is a little bit of play between it and the jug is this common I didn't even do it up hard, like when you put the blade in the hole if you spin it a bit with your fingers you will notice it moves around a little bit its enough so that when you tighten its not putting the force on the strain edges but digging the corner of the metal into the strait edge of the jug :( ..... now my jug leaks :(

    I have a HealthMaster Elite 1200 W and the Vitamix part looks the same. Do you think the blade from Vitamix would fit the Health master? My blender is leaking and I can't find the part :(

    I was told Vitamix blades Dry or Wet are not sharp at all. Its the power from the motor doing all the work and not from the blade being sharp
