"Get a little cocky" that's a very good point. You made it to where you are because something you bring sets you apart from others. Don't let it go to your head, but use it to psych yourself up.

As someone who has suffered from (genetic) mental health issues aka depression and anxiety since a child on top of childhood abuse and trauma even at 34 years old today every day is a challenge for me. Social situations even as simple as going to a grocery store. I started practicing meditation and I work out more often now. But sometimes that just takes the edge off. I would do anything to be like most people. But I'm (me) and I just have to live my life and play the hand I was dealt in life. It's held me back from so much in this lifetime. I once had so many dreams. Today I live alone in my apartment go day to day to a janitor job and ride my bicycle to it rain or shine. Because my anxiety won't allow me to get a license. I've had many good jobs but always seem to lose them because of this. I get strength from learning and watching your videos. You truly are an inspiration for me. I hope to somehow break free of my chains eventually and be a better man. I know to many they probably see a loser. But I truly am more then that and have abilities I've just not been able to show. Thank you for doing what you do.

    1. Rehearse and visualize.
    2. What's the worst thing that could happen? Can you accept it? Can you mitigate?
    3. Reframe anxiety signs (sweating, nausea, lightheadedness, etc.) as your body getting ready for the event. Be cocky. You got this!
    4. There will be another chance, this is not the last time.

What I have found to be true is the more often you are exposed to stress the less it affects you. You expect to feel it as part of the process. No factor 🙂

7:00 I remember when I had was a speaker at an event with over 500 people, and I went out and said, "Give me a sec. I'm having a panic attack and can't remember my name."
We all laughed, I remembered to breathe, and it was enough to override the fear and allow me to just start. I tripped over my words (a lot), but nobody cared and I still got several clients from the event after.
Once I was diagnosed with OCD and realized the reason I was avoiding certain situations was because it was compulsive avoidance to minimize anxiety, I started doing smaller exposures that led to larger ones. It started with agoraphobia so bad that I'd have a panic attack just THINKING about walking outside. Through OCD therapy and facing my fear (even when it was the last thing I wanted to do), I was able to speak on stages and travel around the world. It's definitely not comfortable or easy, though, even if it looks like it to other people.

I discovered my stress comes from a lack of time. I've always been rushed to have a reaction, 5o everything. That reaction became stress reactions to anything I felt I was supposed to react to. Most of the things I stress about go away if I just stand there amd look at it for 20 minutes. If your stress is "I don't know what to do", do nothing. Continue to look at the problem. Do not let your stress be the reason things go south.

i think they should try givning echo a specific amount of time on a timer at the end of what jocko says call it the echo 60 or echo 100 or something where he has 60 seconds to make his observation or contributation and then he has to stop, i think it would be good practice for him to work on summarizing and stikcing the landing on his points, which i enjoy but i would also enjoy seeing him make a point and stick the landing bc if he did that then it would have more impact, too many points water them all down
prayer LORD please bless jocko and echo bless them in all the do, guide them encourage them give them you word coach them please for your glory, in Jesus name amen
