The lack of caring and eventual failure of the DCEU was evident at the very beginning with 'Man of Steel' when they couldn't take the time and effort to include the yellow 'S' symbol on the back of Superman's cape. They were instead satisfied with him wearing a red bed sheet on his back.
snyder had nothing to do with it. that flick was deadpool /marvely and filled with lame jokes plus the Nolan/Snyder tone was gone and yet the flick flopped hard despite being catered to the marvel crowd.
Snyder's DCEU is just a nightmare. Too misanthropic, too nihilistic. I should be happy it failed, but the damage is so huge, it can't be repaired at all.
As a DC fan, I do agree that Snyder shouldn’t get all of the blame. Although his vision was questionable, 90% of the blame belongs to WB executives as trying so much to catch up to Marvel (Marvel was at its peak).

What’s funny is the DCEU technically started with Green Lantern (2011) and was set to have Henry Cavill appear in a credits scene as Superman to feed into Man of Steel However, after bad test screenings the WB execs opted away from that idea and made Man of Steel the new 1st installment
The DCEU failed because of poor planning, awful writing, weird tones, and a complete lack of understanding of DC heroes. I feel like fans put too much blame on Snyder he was part of the problem but the real problem was Warner Brothers. Warner Brothers will always be the greatest enemy in the DC Universe. They constantly destroy DC's reputation with their terrible decisions. As much as I hate the Snyderverse the Snyder Cut was really enjoyable. It's the best Snyder film since Dawn of the Dead. But it wasn't good enough to save the DCEU. Hopefully now that DC has their own studio the DCU can thrive. I'm tired of DC being stuck in Marvel's shadow they deserve better.
It all started with WB's obsession with trying to copy Christopher Nolan's success by hiring Zack Snyder. His tone and vision were so limiting. His need to change the characters to "fix" them only continuously pushed fans away. And WBs need to rush everything only resulted in further failure. WB deserved to lose every penny.
@The_Vizo true, but they clearly had different visions. That's why they kept butting heads. It was actually Nolan who recommended Snyder because Snyder's vision for Superman with Man of Steel matched closest with what Nolan would've done. They didn't wanna do something new. They wanted to do something that was safe.

WB messed up because they wanted to make some of that MCU money, and they could’ve if they didn’t mess up. WB didnt write BvS, Snyder had complete creative control with that movie he just f'ed it up, that movie was the true breakimg point of the DCEU if you think about it, not only bc of the bad reception but also bc of the narrative decisions Snyder made, like why tf would you k1ll 0ff DICK GRAYSON off screen??
