This game would STRUGGLE with 60FPS, I experienced a MASSIVE frame drop when the Crystal Stars first spawned with Mario, ALL party members (including Ms. Mowz), and Prof. Frankly on screen at the Thousand-Year Door under Rougeport
It is genuinely infuriating how we get a brand spanking new remake of Paper Mario, new textures and a full on PUSH of the paper aesthetic…and people are complaining because the game is running at 30 FPS. Genuinely grow up, if FPS is that important to you to where you refuse to buy an AMAZING game because of it, then frankly you’re playing games for the wrong reasons.
The problem I see with the criticism towards the decrease in fps is that this isn’t the same game as the one 20 years ago. With it being a remake, it’s essentially a brand new game. The reason it can’t be 60fps is probably the same reason as Origami King, which this remake may be using the same engine as.
It looks amazing thus far and I hope the franchise continues in this direction. There are some things I still want to see... - Teaser of a Paper Luigi game. Fans have wanted one since Luigi was in TTYD. Assuming they're not hiding a secret mode, an entire game sounds fun. - The ability to unlock and use partners from the first game. - Toggle between the old soundtrack and the new soundtrack. Every remake should have that feature.

I don't think anyone truly hated the paper/cardboard style of the newer games, rather there was a shift from Paper Mario being focused on story, to it being focused on paper, and the style was just kind of a slap in the face on top of it all. Also, you are clearly over optimistic about the pipe room. If you look at the area around the 1 Pipe in the pipe room, there is a ring of green Petal Meadows grass (exact same texture), so not only are the pipes going to be labeled by chapter, you have a nice visual of where the pipe leads to. Sorry but the 1 Pipe isn't going to lead to a Hooktail rematch as there's no sign that it will and clear signs that say otherwise.

The reason people don't really like the paper stuff in the newer games is because too much emphasis is put on it. The original games had that pop-up-book esthetic, but it was just that, an esthetic. Even the curses in TTYD are described in-game as giving your body abilities that work "as if" you were made of paper, implying that the esthetic wasn't actually literal. Whereas the new games constantly reference that everything is literally made of paper, and absolutely refuse to let you forget it. And that can take people out of it.
I've owned all paper mario games, sticker star is bad except for music, color splash was amazing, this game is BEST, Original is fantastic, super paper Mario is underrated, and origami king is pretty good. The timed battle puzzles are frustrating since I have poor vision.
regardless of new or old players its a safe environment to practice the harder action commands of badges so you know how they work... but also this mechanic known as 'stylish moves' are secret inputs every attack has so its an amazing way to test when they appear and master how to pull them off.

I do not want to remove the characters 'banjo-kazooie speak' just to hear the original soundtrack. The voices are an upgrade in every way possible, there should be no need for that to be reversable.
Not 100% sure. From what I could hear in the first Lord Crump cutscene, it sounded like a remix of the "Danger!" theme that was also played during the Smorgg chase.
I dislike white outlines with a passion and well the world doesn't need to be too self aware I mean people aren't making jokes about being fleshy all the time either lol also bought 3 copies of the game.. like I REALLY don't want sticker star to be remade
Emulation doesn't equal piracy. I'm gonna buy the game, and Rip my own copy to play it on my steam deck, that falls under fair use of your product as long as you don't re distribute. Saying Emulation is always piracy is a misconception that hurts emulators and makes cases like the Yuzu emulator take down more plausible (Also yeah I'ma play it on my steam deck instead of my switch, it's just I have more games on my steam deck and I'd rather only carry 1 console, has nothing to do with performance or whatever and more with sheer convenience)
It's mainly because the original already had it running at 60 is why I believe most people are upset about it. Like I said in the video it doesn't really bother me personally but I also feel like if the original was running at 30 this wouldn't be nearly as much of an issue for some people. Imo it's not really fair to completely invalidate those who are upset about it because it's fairly reasonable criticism. It's not rocket science to have a critique about something and not be an ass about it. Same goes for the people who don't have those same critiques. Simply be respectful : D
PPTYD came out in 2004. It was not running at 60fps. It was 30 that was smoothed out to seem like 60 because CRT TVs would display odd and even frames at the same time.
Buy, The, Game, if not for the FPS, do it for the future of Paper Mario.

As someone who never had the chance to play this game and isn't willing to fork up 100 bucks or use an emulator to try it, I'm excited to play this.

I love paper mario 2, never played sticker star and origami king but color splash was fine
I've owned all paper mario games, sticker star is bad except for music, color splash was amazing, this game is BEST, Original is fantastic, super paper Mario is underrated, and origami king is pretty good. The timed battle puzzles are frustrating since I have poor vision.

Well the Frame rate Here Kinda affects the guarding system in Fights.
