I've finally started using these assemblies. I have a good strut spring compressor, but this is easier, cleaner and even cheaper now. We have serious rust here in rural Appalachia but I've never seen an axle nut that rusted.
Hey @RustBeltAuto I'm looking into buying some of these FCS Auto quick struts for a 2008 HHR SS with the 2.0L turbo EcoTec. The car comes factory with what is called the FE5 suspension system from Chevy. The problem is I have searched every single corner of local parts stores, the internet, and dealerships for direct factory replacements but Rock Auto seems to have FE5 suspension components (all separate and I don't want to screw up the ordering process by piecing out each individual part and missing something or not put it together properly) or I could go the cheaper route; which I know that I shouldn't and get the FCS Auto complete struts. What do you think of the FCS Auto complete struts? Have they been reliable and would you trust them?
By chance is your sway bar hitting the control arm? I got some KYBs for my 2015 and i have to put a load on to get my stabilizer link in on top which makes the LCA and sway bar touch. When I am on a back road, i cant hear it hitting all the time.
When these Jeeps show up at the shop, I see $$$$$$$. The suspension is always bad, the brakes as well. And remember. When you break something, if you say OUPS, you didn't do it on purpose!!! Loll
Thank you for this video! You've given me the confidence to... take it to a mechanic instead of trying to do it myself. Not worth the difficulty lol
Watched this video easily 30 times doing this job!

"Just like new!!" 😄
Thanks for this!
That is what that hole is for . You snap it out to do the strut
Fold it up.
What if the knuckle falls forward a bit more? I had to put a jack under mine.
@@montguminator sometimes the cv joint falls out of the socket.
Well done, RTTG!
Okay.... RTTG was from long long ago. How do I know you ?????
1:19 thats the stock subwoofer amplifier for the Boston Acoustics sound upgrade. :D
How long did this take you since your an experienced mechanic!?
Cannot remember what I did yesterday.

Absolutely not. Your SS has a tuned suspension. fCs will be for standard. You probably will be very disappointed.
What to do if your lift gate doesn’t work. I can’t unlock it it’s stuck. I guess I have to work inside the car :(
There is usually an access panel on the inside that can be removed on most cars.
Do you know how these struts have held up since installation them? The front and back?
They are okay.
Thank you🫡

The link keeps it from hitting the control arm. You have something loose, or goofy going on.
Is methany working on your ride?
Methany is not my friend.
FCA tech here 🍿! I love it! I got a video of the compression of the coil to replace I need to post it!
It’s Chrysler

Do you know if the rear suspension assembly 4wd or 2wd is the same ??
Ask the parts store

It just looks broke.
@@RustBeltAuto did you glue it back??
@@alexthemechanic8110 gorilla tape. The other side looks broke too.
Thats perfect. This little stupid piece of plastic is useless anyway. The owner wont miss it loll
My jeep is running terrible 😭😭 I know I need new struts but dam do the mechanics have to sock it to me every time ??
You need to give up mechanic work and go work at Buddy's carpet outlet
That is some really bad advice.
