there are 2 versions of dog boxes existing! One is with classic H-shifting and the other with sequentiel shifting. First is better for use under normal street conditions and much cheaper then the sequentiel version, which is normaly used in motorsport.

What display is that in the middle and how does it work? Are all the inputs connected directly or is it input with like one wire from the ECU? Ive never really been drawn towards Audis but this interior looks really clean, llooks like an awesome car.

jimmaey No, dog is the name how the gears engage. So you can have syncro engagement or dog engagement. It does not matter how how you operate it. I still use a H pattern but you can also use a sequential shifter 'up and down' if you like.

A dogbox is a name for a transmission that uses dogs (pins that slide into holes basically) to engage gears as opposed to the blocker and baulk rings system of a regular synchromesh transmission. It's a much harsher way of shifting but it's stronger and faster.
@@boonamai8926 You can do that in normal manual with synchros aswell. Although its slower, cause you have to wait for the rpms to drop. But for downshifting you just revmatch.
+Edgars Ļebedevs It's a straight cut gear dogbox, the problem with a dogbox is you always need to bangshift it, if you try to shift it in a more civilian manor the gears won't mesh properly and won't engage, so you'll just grind the gear. He shifted it fine, with a dogbox you always are going to get some grinds.

They can be driven pretty similarly to a synchromesh transmission you just have to be careful not to get the shifter hung up between gears. It's a myth that you have to shift dogboxes like you're trying to break the shifter off: the only time you have to shift like that is when you're driving aggressively and shifting without the clutch.

You have to go firmly into gear and not shift too slowly or get stuck halfway between gears.
