  • In this video we race our new Kt100 kart against our old one!
We picked up a 2013 Arrow Racing Go Kart and a 2014 Italian Racing Go Cart with kt100 engines for $500. All the one needed to get running was some cleaning and gasoline. After getting it started we had a little bit of brake tuning to do and then this 2 stroke go kart was ready to rip! After getting the 2012 kart up and running we pulled out the vintage kart and raced them against each other! Stay tuned to find out who wins!
Thank you guys for watching and be sure to stay tuned for when we get this built!

I raced karts with the KT100s back in the 80s. I was 8 at the time. It was fun days.

By the way, your vintage go kart is a Margay Xpert 3 or Sr16, roughly manufactured in the mid 80’s. The kart is rare and looks to be original, certainly valuable in the state it is in. The Kt100 is likely an old version with and older design. The front nose was a Margay-specific design and was made to fit that kart. Side panels are aftermarket but fine for the appearance. Normally these karts would’ve come without any bodywork.
    Hope this helps.

You guys need to try out a shifter cart. It'll change your world! Maybe not a 125 to start off in but a 85cc. They can be dangerous and sketchy so if you ever get the chance just be careful. They're also a great workout. You'll be tired after a few laps the first time you ride one. They can pull as many g's in corners as formula 1 cars. They're awesome. But they can be expensive for one that's all together and running. I'm sure there's older ones out there though that aren't competitive with today's shifters that would cost less. If you think these carts are loud wait till you hear one of those!

Maybe not real fast but sure are good and loud. Reminds me of the time I ran my weed whacker without the muffler. :-)

Those KTs are much faster. They don’t have them tuned very well.

If you put a 22 on the front and 58 on the rear that thing would fly, I race the same motor and this gear works great on a 1/4 track

Selling ANY racing go kart is a CARDINAL SIN and you WILL BURN for it lol. I sold a rimo kart once and it took me 5 years to find another. But I got her now and I wont let her go until im 6 feet under. I'll never sell her. I think im gonna do one with a old school kt100 and the other with a 125cc pitbike engine. Shifter vs Kt100. Who will watch?

Gasolinemadness Idk it’s just a box with a key on it that fits into the engine. It’s worked on every k100 we’ve owned.

It’s an electric starter for race karts. Even the 4 stroke race karts use them too.
