Thanks 🙏 finally figured out my problem is with the washer between the flywheel cus that one Is engaging the bolt that goes through . Hope I find it . 😂
Really like your videos! Haven't been playing with moped for 20 years, and just bought myself an early ciao model that I'm going to renovate. Cheers from Skåne, Sweden!
hello Caster Lorenzen. this video was very useful. I saw many Italian videos that talked about moped clutch but all of these aren't very Precise. For this reason it was not clear to me how to reassemble the moped clutch and therefore my piaggio ciao could not start. Thank you very much.
Super video.
For store pærer eller dårlige forbindelser, gør problemet værre.
my vespa ciao does not accelerate quickly and the springs at the starting clutch are worn out should i replace it? Does this make a difrence with acceleration ? Because i bought polini set blue green and metal color en the green doest work en the metal color doesnt accelerate quik
Can someone please explain how the starting pads are to be mounted? Everyone says they should be mounted in the "correct" direction, but they look the same from both angles? How do you get them in the right position?
Alt er vender og sidder rigtigt, vi tænkte det måske kunne have noget med remmen at gøre fordi den rem der er på er meget løs men for lille til det andet remskive
You mention that Newfren clutch segments are good quality and then you say something about Malossi, but I can't hear if you say that one should or should not buy Malossi segments. Could you specify please?
Don't buy the Malossi. Mine held up for 50 km. The newfren actually also died a few weeks ago. But managed to go over 500 km. I use it on a 46 mm Polini, it's great torque is hard on the segments.
Hello Carsten! I have a problem on my non-variomativ ciao where I can’t get my clutch bell/basket off. It slides around nicely on the crank but when I slide it towards the end it suddenly stops, like there is a jack or similar on the crank. I have tried using gentle force and filing quite a bit on the crank but no success, any idea? Thanks, Adam,
Hi, sadly no good idea. There must be something that holds the clutchplate in place. Maybe a worn ridge/edge on the crank. Have you tried with a puller?
Do you have an idea what can cause clutch vibrations at high revs? I tried to revv it on a side stand and touched it with a screwdriver it’s way too much. when I took the clutch apart, there no damage but starting clutch is missing 2mm off the pad on one side(crack). Could it be the bad weight distribution when rotating at high revs? I’ve got an old bravo variator version. Btw I like your videos big time!
I have a single speed Ciao and I tried to use the Malossi clutch springs but my engine seems not strong enough to use even the weakest springs. It will just slip and take too long to grab. I'm still not sure why it does not spin up faster, weak revs in low end. So I want to know if these Malossi springs can work with a stock original engine? If they can, then I must have some sort of issue with my modified engine. But for now I am using the original springs with drilled lighter shoes and that works fairly well.
The Malossi springs are very stiff. The green Polinis are the hardest i would run on a stock cylinder and setup. The drilled holes plus malossi springs put you in the 5000 rpm range before it starts to grip.
@@CarstenLorenzen12V ok thanks for the info! I have a 43mm Malossi cylinder setup and even with that I can't get the lightest Malossi springs to grab quick enough. I have tried a lot of things already but it still has weak low end. I think it is an ignition issue so I'm going to try replacing the coil and magneto next, maybe the lighter late-model flywheel will help too. I'd also like to try electronic ignition, but there's no cheap option for that.
Check the bearing behind te egnition-spools. When they leak, the moped wont drive. I just fixed that problem this week with exact the same problem as yours. When te clutch-shoes are not working, the moped wont start either.
Thanks for the videos, I rebuilt my MS50 motor with your help. I'm now working on a Vespa Bravo and it's great to find you here as well!

great info. i just broke my clutch and now i understand how it works. thank you
@Carsten Lorenzen Dear Sir THAN YOUk TONS for this perfect info and especially for that nut that need to be direct outward the housing ... Thanks .
Keep up the good work 👍

Please make a similar video covering the variomatic both front and rear! :-)
Great video
Tak for at du laver så uddybede videoer, jeg viste ikke så meget om knallert inden jeg så dig. Nu kan jeg sætte nye fjedre i min ciao🙏
Very very clear, thank you very much

Hello, i might have an older version of the Ciao. And i can't pull the engine to the back like you do at 4:35 , what could i do ?

Hej. Hvor køber du nyt nåleleje og foring?
Where do you buy the bearing set?
Hej. Det kan fås ved JMPB. Er ikke sikker på hvad du mener med foring?
@@CarstenLorenzen12V bøsningen inde i lejet = foring men det er jo en bøsning.
Fandt begge dele. Tak for hjælpen.
Do you have a link for a multi springs that you show in your video
Jmpbparts.com has them search for ciao springs polini.
Great video! Can you please write the size of the bearing?
Thanks. The bearing number is HK1622 - measures 16x22x22 mm.

Wow
What happens when i put the washer wrongly and run the bike...
The clutch gets locked so the bike can't idle, and the thread for the flywheel puller can get damaged.
Wie hasst du sie wieder angezogen
Polrad mit großem Schraubenzieher blockieren. Mutter ca 20-25 Nm spannen.
cual es el ancho de la correa?
The width of the belt? It's 9,7 mm or close to that. Fitting standard belts are XPZ / SPZ / AVX10.
