- This drum cover of Bob Segers "Turn the Page" is a special tribute to Loretta (Lori) D. McGonigal. Back in the mid 80s, this song had great meaning to Lori and I. Sadly, I learned that she recently passed away from stage 4 lung cancer. Some people come along at different points in your life that totally change your life forever. For me, during that time, Lori was that person. For the last 37+ years, any time I have heard this song, memories of Lori and those times in our young lives come to mind. Rest in peace my dear friend.

I too would love to know the back story on the song and how she changed your life all those years ago.
Lori and I met at the Rainbow Bottle Club in Auburndale, FL in the mid 80s. I went out to my car during a break and she was parked behind me and flashed her headlights at me, I got out to go talk to her and it was love at first sight. We went back into the club and when Bob Segers Turn the Page came on I asked her to dance and at that moment time stood still. We were together for about a year when she abruptly left for Fort Lauderdale with her dad (300 miles away). We didnt have cell phones at the time, I lost track of her. One day, I packed what I could carry in my 69 Camaro and took off to Fort Lauderdale and left everything behind. I did find her in Fort Lauderdale, but it just wasn't the same after that. I ended up staying in Fort Lauderdale which eventually led to my sailboat days. I did reach out to her a few months before this video to find out she had stage 4 lung cancer. She passed away shortly after.
O M G you totally brought to to tears with this tribute Bill. First off, I am sorry to hear you discovered someone who clearly meant a lot to you in your past has passed away. Its never easy. I have a feeling she would approve of this tribute. Your performance was very moving and I could feel the emotion from beginning to end.
