Sounds of Silence by Disturbed - Drum Remix by Bill - Laurin Drums/Alesis/Zildjian Hybrid kit.

- OK, Over the years I have watched hundreds, perhaps thousands of drum cover videos on UA-cam. The one that moves me the most is a drum remix to Sounds of Silence by Disturbed done by Beats by Jay (Jason Ozant). I have watched that video many, many times over the last 5 years and am always moved by it. Now, while I am nowhere near, not even close to Jay's level of talent I just had to give this one a try. Disturbed's rendition of this song without drums is nothing short of amazing but if I were going to add drums to it, this is how I would do it. That being said, here is my remix of Disturbed amazing rendition of Sounds of Silence. Thank you Jason Ozant for the inspiration!

Dude, you honor me. Thank you for the praise, but I was just being me. It was the riskiest cover I ever made, yet it's the only one that still remains on the original channel. Look, I don't want to sound arrogant by saying this... I'm not in love with myself. But this was MY favorite of my videos too. Sometimes you're in the zone and hit a bullseye. In 10 years of recording covers on YT, this was my bullseye. Call me arrogant if you want... It's not like that. If we can't be proud of SOME of the things we do, then what's the point? Oh no my friend nothing arrogant at all about it. And did you ever hit a bullseye. I remember shortly after you released that video I downloaded that song and loaded it into my module. I immediately said to my self 20 seconds in that there is no way I would ever be able to pull this off. It has simmered for 5 years. I watched your video again the other day and said you know what, what the heck I'm gonna do it and throw it out be dammed the results or what anyone else says. You are an AMAZING artist and you have been a big inspiration since the very start of this crazy UA-cam thing and I am forever grateful. Thanks a million for stopping by.

May I ask what DAW and editing programs you use to make such killer vids?
I do not use a DAW. I record live sound from the sound (mixer) board directly to a digital recorder as an MP3 file. I mix everything through a Mackie sound board to get the desired mix then record right from the ouput. As for editing software I use Filmora by Wondershare and love it.
