Sew a Beaver Fur Trapper Hat

How to sew together a beaver fur trapper hat, this hat pattern is available for $25.00 you can email me for details, it works great also in otter fur and other furs you'd like to use. This is a great fitting hat and is nice with flaps up or flaps down. I can usually get a hat from one large beaver pelt and this can be made with using leather for underflaps and the under brim also to save on fur.
The size of hat pattern is 7 1/4 only, you could adjust it for size if needed, I'[[ give you info on how to do that.

I have a long story to tell about my love for fur hats, but I modified a Davey Crocket simple rectangular pieces pattern I bought online so that the fur would come down to cover the ears at shoulder length. The coyote hat I had purchased from someone online draped down my back, and when I turned my head the silky lining allowed the hat to twist on my head rather easily. I asked the seller if she would put in a deer skin lining, perhaps, but she would not, so I found the pattern and cut her hat to pieces. The new hat with the shoulder length fur and deer skin lining was hand stitched with waxed nylon thread, and when finished I was able to do cartwheels across the yard and the hat fit like a glove. Made a number of others since, using the same modified pattern. Not easy figuring out how to hand stitch everything, and how to place the paws or claws next to the face and make it look good. I really love the attention I get wearing my badger hat, with the claws over each eye and the badger's fur matching my own. I find the hats are warm to at least 50 below zero, and here in Montana the hats are actually too warm to wear if the temperature is above 20 degrees. Thanks for this great and useful video. I had bought and wore one of these in Riga, LV when I lived there (15 years) and it was my favorite hat. They're not so available around here in the US, and I'm thinking of making my own now.

their are steps you could leave out, like the interfacing in the flaps and just hand stitch the flaps together in spots but this is a great fitting hat, retail this hat sells for 500 to 600 in fur shops. if done in mink it's 800.00 or I could make one for you. :)

yes instructions are included it can be hand sewn or sewn by fur machine, if your using fur, a regular sewing machine is not recommended, I hope this answers you question, I'f you want a pattern send me a email [e-mail]

I had question, is there budget friendly machine that could sew the fur together? Do the manual sewing machines work? Although most of them dont provide a serger stitch, is it possible to get a clean outcome?
