It's actually a scallop. Clams don't have eyes, and I'm not sure if they swim away like that.

Its not really swimming , its the quick moving of their muscle that helps them move

I’ve walked these beaches for 25+ years. Every day is a treasure!! I love it! But the better beaches are in Englewood! Middle beach, the best! Now I know there is an area where the Peace River empties into the gulf. You should try there, I hear the pickings are great! Glad you enjoyed Venice!
You guys are clearly having so much fun! My cousin's teens re into your vids... today we searched (by snorkel) the Yellow Breeches Creek in PA. We removed a bunch of trash, found a laptop, a cool bottle and some other goodies.

my family has been going to venice beach for over thirty years now, have a condo right by the jettis. my dad when he was a kid was in the banks of the ocean and felt something under his foot, picked it up and it was a megaladon tooth. i used to bring it into show and tell when i was younger.

I would like to find one of those teeth, I know that N/S Carolina's are both popular places to go teeth hunting. That is quite a nice find though! That clam was honestly an interesting sight to see...
Finding teeth like this is extremely hard, if you dont wanna do extreme divong like this i would reccomend the peace river in florida. I went with a guide once and found 4 megalodon teeth, a bison vertibrae, a mammoth tooth, and a spear head all in one days trip

Really enjoyed this video. I dove Venice years ago from the beach and only found small teeth, but lots of them. Small black ones. My favorite memory of Venice beach was diving early one morning, and because it was shallow we were in the water close to 2 hours. When we came up there was a church service going on and there were people being baptized in the water. They were as surprised as we were. Thanks for the memory Jake!
