I think the most important words in this vid are "...take a tune like X and plant it on the shuffle". Some might also say to "weave' the tune into the shuffle.
Hmmm...4-string fiddle strung as if it were a 5-string (big space between G string and the edge of the neck (for example 1:52), but missing the 5th string? Or is it a 5-string minus a peg and string?
Did you take the C string off just for this video? Why did you not just play a 4 string fiddle? Your instruction is way above the quality of most on youtube with similar numbers of views. Dont know why I have not subscribed sooner.

Kind of like Keith Richards. I've noticed some 6 string fiddlers who never hit those low strings.
I think you can see an extra pair of peg holes by the scroll at 2.40 ;)
I wonder if he took it off because of sympathetic resonance putting a noticeable C in there.
