    Nick, every time you make another advancement in Capo technology, I think "Well this has to be it - where can he possibly take it from here?" And I'll be darned if you don't find another way to make things better for us guitarists! Some of us depend on tuning as little as possible in order to make a living. Working on stage and/or in a studio are two examples where we have to spend a minimum amount of time tuning. Thank you so much for this lovely machine! BTW, I didn't know you had a brother:)

    Just ordered one. I must have been living under a rock to miss this. A better alternative to switching capos for three radii and an additional compound radius. It works out cheaper and more practical having one for all, thanks.

    Bought it and using it since yesterday. It's actually incredible. Aside from the buzzing my old capo produced, it actually warped the sound too I believe. I'm a beginner and I didn't know that a standard capo with a spring did that. Now it just sounds so clear, lol! If it holds and doesn't break or lose it's strength, the price is well justified. For now it's great quality and I don't think I need a different capo.

    Would love to get on with a G7th. Truth is, when I upgraded my guitar I decided to treat myself to one, and it had more string buzz than, frankly, some considerably cheaper ones such as the Dunlop Trigger and even an unbranded one from Amazon! Maybe I’ll try again some day.

    I just received one in the mail today. At first I was disappointed. Which end is up? How is it installed? Maybe I'm a dummy but it wasn't intuitive to me. Once I figured out how to put it on, I still had string buzzing and some muting - over pressure/under pressure. Until I figured it out: Press down on tip of the back while applying pressure to the top as well. Maybe a QR to a video or good old instruction sheet in the packaging would've helped. Thanks for listening.

    Difficult to find in the US still! I guess that's a given since it seems it was just released..
    Now, you gius need to make a capo that stays in place and you can clamp and unclamp instantly in the one spot, very very easily and not miss a beat! Even if it has to be attached to the guitar neck somehow and can't be instantly removed.. But still removed within a few seconds... But if you can develop instant removal too, that would be even greater!
    Sorry if I'm asking for them impossible.. But.. It must be possible!

    I've just bought my 3rd one of these capos. The first two were Performance 2 models. The clutch failed on the first one, and Uri Geller must have got hold of the second one because it got more and more bent until it just fell apart. They lasted about 3 years in total. Now I have a Performance 3 and we'll see how that goes. These are great capos to use but there are some design or manufacturing weaknesses.

      @@g7thcapo Hi, thanks for the response. I threw the first one out before I saw 'lifetime warranty' written on the box of the next one. When that one broke just a couple of weeks ago I did consider it, but I couldn't be bothered going through an unknown process with who knows who to try and get it replaced. I just wanted a replacement straight away so I went and bought one. I was also hoping that the Model 3 would be improved and I note that it is a little heavier in the (obviously very weak) area that broke. I'm in New Zealand and so I expected the local store would tell me to take it up with the manufacturer. I assumed that would then become a drama of posting the broken one overseas hoping a new one might be sent back. As you can see, I'm not one to get into a lot of drama over an $80 NZD item. I'll send a photo of the broken one to your email if that will make it easy?

    Very good capo, just like the classical G7th P2 that I have, but I am afraid I have to return the newly bought P3. Although the rubber is 52mm in length, which fits most guitar. However, it is only useful for the first 5 frets if you have a 46mm nut guitar (a Lakewood in my case). Yes, you rarely use a capo above the 5th frets but sometimes you just do especially if the composers are intended to. Is there any technical difficulty to just have a slightly longer rubber? I would be happy to buy one again if there is a more versatile version of Performance 3. A rubber with a length of 2 1/4" would help a lot, which the shubb C3 (12 strings) and Thalia have, I like G7th the most overall, but it is just not working for my guitar.

      Hey Emanuel, thanks for your comment!
      The main difference is that the Performance 3 has the ART string pad (Adaptive Radius Technology) - it'll adapt to the radius of any 6 string acoustic steel string/electric, with no buzzing and unrivalled stability of tuning :)
      The P3 is also a little more substantial than the P2 and doesn't have the grip on the top bar.

      Hi Paul! Apologies for the delay in our reply. ART will adapt to be completely flat, HOWEVER, it hasn't been designed for a Classical guitar. I bought a Performance 3 capo but it just doesn't work. It rattles when I put it on and strum/pluck the strings (something inside the capo itself rattles - very annoying). Also it can't seem to get even tension on my 13-56 strings, which causes the B string to also rattle. Shame, I had high hopes for this. Think it might be some sort of quality control issue, the capo itself doesn't 'feel' good. It cost me almost three times the price of my D'addario NS Lite, which feels more convenient, doesn't have minor imperfections like visible glue under the rubber pads, and operates more smoothly.

    I dropped my capo because I had it on the headstock and the bass player decided to swing his bass and it hit the capo off the headstock, when it landed on the floor the plastic button to open and close the capo broke off, is there a way to replace it or am i screwed?

      Either you mean 'that's a lie'

      You're being rather clever and using a cap to make the word capo :)

    will this have a classical model as well?

    • @g7thcapo
      @g7thcapo  5 років тому +2

      Hi Eric! No Classical model for this one - as all Classical fingerboards are completely flat we decided that our existing Classical options (P2, Newport, Nashville and UltraLight) were sufficient. Also, we didn't want to make this one long enough to fit a Classical as it would then have felt like a compromise on the non-Classical guitars, which was our primary aim.

    Doesn’t work well at all, just got mine today and was very excited to have a well working capo that fits perfectly with my guitar but the strings were buzzing all the time.. even my 10 euro capo that’s like 8 years old performs better

    It doesn't look like it will go flat enough for a classical guitar.

    • @g7thcapo
      @g7thcapo  Рік тому

      Hi there, thanks for the comment :) it'll work on a flat neck too, but for a Classical you'll just need to make sure that the top bar will be long enough - we have other models for Classical guitars too, feel free to email me at tommy.loose@g7th.com if you'd like to chat further :)

    This capo is way over priced and quickly lost its reliability...I was excited when I first purchased it...it worked great...but soon I started having trouble with buzzing strings...I feel let down especially for what I paid for it...I really liked this capo...but I had to go back to my Ernie Ball capo

    I'm sorry but I do not see how any capo can claim to not put a guitar out of tune. As soon as you deflect a guitar string, for example by pushing it down to meet a fret with the finger, you increase the tension in the string and the pitch rises. Whenever you use a capo and then fret strings below it you are deflecting the strings in two places.The tension increase and therefore pitch rise with the string depressed in two places must be greater than when the strings are only depressed in one.

    • @MattyPeq
      @MattyPeq 5 років тому

      Then try this one. Reviewers agree on the fact that this capo doesn't do that.

    • @ResoBridge
      @ResoBridge 5 років тому

      @@MattyPeq Then either this capo does not deflect the string or it uses magic. ..... Actually it plainly does deflect the string. What G7th say about it is that the design always ensures that the absolute minimum pressure is exerted at any position along the neck to ensure firm contact with the fret. So it isn't squeezing the string down behind the fret. Even so it has to deflect the string to reach the fret, so it will affect tuning. I expect reviewers are responding to it not having as great an effect as other capos that exert more pressure. You cannot argue that this capo doesn't deflect the string to touch the fret, or deny that fretting the string below the capo places a second deflection in the string.
