I can see a use for this in some situations and could be more than just fun really. A specific type of signal light could be quite handy to be able to identify from afar that it is you and not some other random persons flashlight. I did something similar for awhile when I was selling stuff on craigslist, I have a little light like this that's meant more for content creators etc and I would meet people in a mall parking lot and tell them to look for the car with the flashing blue light on the dash. But in a survival situation it could be used to indicate a status situation to another party with each mode having various different meanings.... sort of a modern day "smoke signal"
