I played the demo and i agree with you that its has more focus on competitive football than chaos in Mario Strikers Charged 😅 It has more technical mechanics and therefore more tactical options than Charged. Easy to learn, hard to master for sure!
Those character animations are ABSOLUTELY goated. Like you can tell that even when Next Level Games can't do the absurd stuff like Waluigi's Crotch Chop, they can basically do the next best thing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Waluigi's victory animation is a neat reference to that very strange Waluigi render we had seen some time ago. (Was that intentional tho?) Hopefully Daisy is not far behind since she won't be there at launch unfortunately. She among some other things are causing a BIG STINK 🦨 I need to play the damn tutorial and whatever soon but I'm glad to hear that the gameplay is not only holding up but could be even BETTER than the previous entries?! (Although for me, it's not the GAME PLAY I'm concerned about.)
Not only was dodging in the previous games, but they also had unique dodges in Strikers Charged where for example, a Hammer Bro would throw his hammer down on the ground hitting anyone near him, or dry bones forward rolling into a teleport for his unique dodge. This game seems to have none of that, which is a massive shame as that is what made every character feel different.
For post-launch content, I have some ideas for things that might work in the games favor, in the avenue of items, characters, etc. First - admittedly, this isn’t as much of a ‘post-launch’ thing - scrap items that mimic their use in Mario Kart, or at least change their current function (obviously, green shells are a staple to the Mario series, so scrapping any use of a green shell is asking too much). For new items, get weird with them: 1) Shivershock: Touch a Freezy, and the entire field freezes for 3 seconds, and EVERYONE travels in a straight line in their current momentum. 2) Ztar: Instead of making ONE person on YOUR team invincible, ALL BUT ONE player on the OTHER TEAM is hurt by touching the ball, except the one, who gets a massive stat boost. Now, everyone is out to tackle your team, but only one of their players is actually viable, BUT he’s Triple-S-tier for 10 seconds. 3) Dottie: Touch Dottie (the Pixl from Super Paper Mario), and unless in the 30% chance it backfires, the opponent’s side of the field shrinks by 50% towards the center of the field, and as the goal heads that way, Boom-Boom is knocked outside the field by it, where you take control of him, find an opening in the electric fence, and crawl back in, which returns the field to normal. As far as characters go, make some WEIRD ones work. Add Paper Mario, who would fit SO WELL here. Add Fawful and Midbus as a tag-team, ‘Pyra/Mythra’ character. Add one of the many human characters from the earlier Mario sports series who literally attacks others with a golf club, tennis racquet (depending on which game he’s from). Add Polterpup, who would probably LOVE to play ball, or Biff Atlas (look him up, and tell me I’m wrong). I think this game’s quality speaks for itself both visually and mechanically, so if some of the weirdest, newest steps could be taken that don’t detract from either of these factors, it’s in the game’s favor to do so!
I gotta say the hype went up and then down, but after the explanation trailers and the tutorial, the hype went way too high. It's gonna be one of those games which may be easy to play, but really hard to master, and i'm all in for it. Love the gameplay mechanics and how accurate you gotta be, to master them. Same happened with the attitude of this game, i don't like the fact they tuned down the personas of the characters, in terms of edginess and how aggresive they are, but OMG, everyone is so expressive, it's insane. However, this game has shown much more attitude than Charged, except it's not edgy-kinda-mature-ish like how previous games were, and this time is more all-around, instead of just being focused on celebrations, frustrations and intros. What really hooked me, is the fact, this game is much more like the first game, which honestly, i'll take any time before Charged
Couldn't agree more, with what you said -'the fact, this game is much more like the first game, which honestly, i'll take any time before Charged' the first was absolutely epic, and this looks like a direct upgrade with extra bits and pieces. why the characters does not have the super abilities? it gaves them more personality and different gameplay(and mechanic). And the stages... i mean... i really don't care of what is OUT of the stage, i care for what is ON stage i.e.: the field. In the previous games we had the different fields that had different ambiental mechanics( tornado, solar beam from the sky. etc) instead here the fields look all the same. I understand that this took out some of the "randomicity" of the game, but maybe an option to turn ON/OFF the stage hazard would have been a better solution. Add the previous fields with their unicity as free dlc would be much appreciated from the fan base. And the super abilities of the captains (like the waluigi barbed tangle, the donkey kong impact wave, or bowser's fire) , but not as random object, but as a special object or with an ability meter bars that it fill as you do certain action(like steal the ball from an enemy or doing perfect passing the ball)
Super Abilites were broken and horribly balanced. They’ve removed them to better balance the game. Plus this will make Battle League far more competitive for the causal audience who may fall into the trap of abusing Abilities like in Charged
As a BIG fan of the first two I'm looking forward to this for sure (but PLEASE Nintendo make there be some reason to play offline like a simple tournament mode or something just more than some basic training and local multiplayer, the first two had it and went through the trouble of having unlocks by playing it not to mention "Charged" had neat little news feed interludes between matches that had a lot of personality and were different for each character)!

The top 100 in strikers charge revolved around 1 tech which was lob passing the ball from your half of the pitch above the goalie for a goal that the ai wouldnt contest. waluigi was broken because of his speed boost.
I can’t figure out how to do the Lob shot either. I remember it from the OG Strikers... Perhaps I just haven’t found the right button combo. If you figure it out, let me know!
I don’t think there is… it’s not in the tutorial… remember in the old one if the goalie came out you could lob shot and they would trip trying to get it. I feel like this one is so chaotic you don’t have a chance to focus on the soccer aspect haha. It’s more just hurl items and tackle

I think it is more this new strategy of nintendo to intentionally release a game earlier even thou it does not have a lot of content that upsets people. Now we will probably get the free content for 6 months and then the game will feel complete. People are paying 60 dollars for this title. And I find it strange to release something that is not worth 60 dollars now, but in half a year it will be... Gameplay is the most important and it looks solid. But when a company intentionally releases a game uncomplete it is worrying.

People are shitting on the game because of Nintendo. Nintendo only release free content because of their online subscription and consumer behaviour, it gets more. sales But just imagine, if this game got released and they said there is 20 characters, and every character has there own stage half. Like I was a Sonic Colours addict on the Wii and the cutscene animations looked nice and the game looked great so idk maybe that's why I never payed attention to charged.
I've only played a bit of First Kick, so I'm assuming; they -lessened a bit of the hype in the animations- (Scratch that, I looked at the animations at the end), but upped a lot of the hype of the gameplay.
Also toad looks funny LMAO, awesome video :)
The new mechanics are team tackles and that you can charge them. I think everything else is in the two other games. Perhaps manual passing but that kinda existed in charge with chipping.

Any chance there is a "story" mode? Has there been in past Strikers games?
There wasn't in the previous games
There was actually
I would love a road to strikers cup type mode with the team 'recap' in between matches, it would also bring hope for unlockables.
There was a tournament mode in both of the previous games and a mission mode in Charged, but otherwise no.
not a story mode, but a cup mode VS the CPU
there's a lot of depth to this game, highly technical and difficult to master
I played the demo and i agree with you that its has more focus on competitive football than chaos in Mario Strikers Charged 😅
It has more technical mechanics and therefore more tactical options than Charged. Easy to learn, hard to master for sure!
This will be my first strikers game and I’m very excited to try it on my Nintendo Switch OLED, which I love!
(Was that intentional tho?)
Hopefully Daisy is not far behind since she won't be there at launch unfortunately. She among some other things are causing a BIG STINK 🦨
I need to play the damn tutorial and whatever soon but I'm glad to hear that the gameplay is not only holding up but could be even BETTER than the previous entries?!

I couldn’t agree more and I think i love you for that
Hopefully there’s enough content here beyond just match play. If there isn’t some sort of incentive to keep playing then that’d be a shame.
well, charged on wii had only 3 cups, was 40 us, and was standard resolution.
@@charlestrudel8308 Yeah that’s my worry. I got bored with Charged really quickly.
For new items, get weird with them:
1) Shivershock: Touch a Freezy, and the entire field freezes for 3 seconds, and EVERYONE travels in a straight line in their current momentum.
How is Daisy not in this game? She’s the face of Striker, her Smash Brawl trophy was in her Striker design.

Ya the animations look ridiculous. Super high quality. Not just the post goal stuff like taunts either. In a replay I saw peach jump, flip and catch the ball between her legs. The knockdowns look great. Rosalina actually looks like she’s saying “let’s go” and not just random mouth movement.
There are soooo many animation different details. Can’t wait! Even details like DK fur and paint chip on his helmet look clean.
Weeb
Think the reason it seems fast is because the field is so small. Will there be online voice chat??? Probably not.
why the characters does not have the super abilities? it gaves them more personality and different gameplay(and mechanic).
Idk about you, but after that AMAZING animation DK has when scores, he's one of my favorite characters. Am I the only one that went through that?
I just want to know if the waluigi hip thrust is back.
As a BIG fan of the first two I'm looking forward to this for sure (but PLEASE Nintendo make there be some reason to play offline like a simple tournament mode or something just more than some basic training and local multiplayer, the first two had it and went through the trouble of having unlocks by playing it not to mention "Charged" had neat little news feed interludes between matches that had a lot of personality and were different for each character)!
this game has tournaments but im pretty sure its not like the previus one where you go from cup to cup maybe im wrong lol. and btw some dataminers saw that there some strange numbers that represent characters ( 10 numbers btw) but we dont know if thats a bug or if it means that there will be 10 dlc/unlockables

I remember it from the OG Strikers... Perhaps I just haven’t found the right button combo. If you figure it out, let me know!
There is a lob shot, but I don't remember the button combination
I don’t think there is… it’s not in the tutorial… remember in the old one if the goalie came out you could lob shot and they would trip trying to get it. I feel like this one is so chaotic you don’t have a chance to focus on the soccer aspect haha. It’s more just hurl items and tackle

It's a shame that a lot of people are bad mouthing it because it's missing a couple of characters, and how they'll be added later, when in actuality the game feels really good to play (from the First Kick demo), and adds a lot of cool technical moves, and such.
Hopefully it does really good despite of that.
@@sistakastet if it plays good why sh1t on it? is obviously has alot more care than some other mario sports games tbh add more content to already quality game is kinda great, also ea would have you pay extra as in loot box characters
People are shitting on the game because of Nintendo. Nintendo only release free content because of their online subscription and consumer behaviour, it gets more. sales But just imagine, if this game got released and they said there is 20 characters, and every character has there own stage half. Would you not be hyped. I am just sad that nintendo forces next level games to release a game that they probably are not happy with because they want to add more content from the getgo.
